Gameweek 16’s Sunday action begins at 14:00 GMT with Everton v Chelsea, Fulham v West Ham United and Luton Town v Manchester City and all six sides have provided Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers with team news.
So the overnight rumours of an Erling Haaland (£14.0m) foot injury are true, as the 84.7%-owned forward – captained by the majority of active teams – misses out entirely at Kenilworth Road. We await news on whether he’s also ruled out for Gameweek 17, before Blank Gameweek 18 kicks in for the champions.
“A bone stress reaction in his foot and after the last game he felt it. He cannot play. I don’t know [how long he’s out]. Week by week, day by day, we will see what happens.” – Pep Guardiola on Erling Haaland
Therefore it’s Julian Alvarez (£6.9m) up front, with Pep Guardiola’s side in the unusual situation of being winless in four league matches. Rodri (£5.6m) and Jack Grealish (£7.2m) are back in the line-up after suspension, with Jeremy Doku (£6.7m) still absent. On the bench is John Stones (£5.3m) and Manuel Akanji (£4.9m).
Meanwhile, Chelsea have made some high-profile rotations. Raheem Sterling (£7.1m), Levi Colwill (£4.6m), Nicolas Jackson (£6.9m) and Thiago Silva (£5.0m) are down to the bench – for the latter, it’s the first time all season. Investing in the Blues’ defence looks difficult, although Reece James (£5.4m) starts here. Cheap midfielder Cole Palmer (£5.4m) does too, with Conor Gallagher (£5.4m) back from a ban.
Opponents Everton have had two successive clean sheets and their only change brings James Garner (£4.9m) back from illness, replacing Seamus Coleman (£4.4m). Returning to the squad is Amadou Onana (£4.7m).
West Ham’s Alphonse Areola (£4.3m) still isn’t back from a wrist injury either, disappointing his high ownership. Aaron Cresswell (£4.2m) and Pablo Fornals (£4.7m) come in for Emerson (£4.5m) and Edson Alvarez (£5.0m).
Elsewhere, Fulham are unchanged from the 5-0 win over Nottingham Forest. Luton’s Issa Kabore (£4.0m) is ineligible to face his parent club Man City, making way in one of three Hatters alterations. Ryan Giles (£4.3m) and Tom Lockyer (£4.3m) are two to come in.
