Anyone in the community that still has their first wildcard available - if so what are you planning? GW19 or 20? and are their any good articles on good WC strategies - e.g. how to cater for AFCON and Asian Cup..(Salah, Son at al)

20 is definitely better as no DGW20. plus you're selling AFCON and Asian cup players with less risk.

Same here. Planning WC20 due to same reasons mentioned above - no DGW and closer to the moment Salah/Son departures. On top, buying back Haaland before GW19 seems wrong, with him most probably not being ready yet.

Yes wasn't sure whether we'd have a bit more clarity re Haaland....the challenge will be to what do we do re Son/Salah - do we have them or not in our WCs

    A) Roll. Play Adingra vs Spurs and Schar vs NFO

    Current transfer thoughts:

    - Livramento to Trent
    - Save FT and start Livramento. Newcastle in the early KO and may get a leak before the deadline

    1FT 7.6ITB
    Dubravka
    Porro Saliba Gabriel Livramento
    Salah Saka Gordon Son
    Solanke Watkins
    (Areola Archer Taylor Palmer)

Agreed I need to sell him but I might be able to delay the transfer if he starts. Also not an issue delaying it when he is my 4th/5th def

Actually I just noticed Archer (home to Luton) is your 1st sub too. I'd roll the FT, start Livra and even if he doesn't play, have Archer come in (praying behind the sofa that Livra doesn't make a sub appearance in the 89th minute)

          1. Tonyawesome69
            • 7 Years
            2 years, 2 months ago

I would rather start Archer than risking Livramento start assuming no Newcastle leaks. However I trust Trent as an FPL pick over Archer.

    2. Ze_Austin
      • 7 Years
      2 years, 2 months ago

I think I'd start Archer ahead of Livra anyway (he can come in for about three different positions on the field as a late sub) and address Livra after sorting out Salah, Son and Haaland

      1. Tonyawesome69
        • 7 Years
        2 years, 2 months ago

Agreed on Archer, only start Livramento if we get a leak. Just don't see Haaland will be ready by 20 against SHU

I expect Haaland to (at least) be in the squad vs Everton and start vs Sheffield, if he was already kicking without pain by this weekend

Note: this is based on the deleted training pic, and also assuming Pep wasn't lying about the injury

              • 7 Years
              2 years, 2 months ago

Deleted training pic was individual training, difficult to know what it involved though. As of today he still isn't in full team training.

                2 years, 2 months ago

Looking at the schedule, I don't think they've had full team training yet, since the final where he wasn't in the squad anyway

That said, the only thing I'm sure of atm is that we don't know... But I think individual training is enough for some positivity regarding GW20... GW19 might be after just one training session with the team on Tuesday before they play on Wednesday, so maybe an appearance off the bench vs Everton

Correction: I don't think they'd had full team training by the time the pic was taken

I think they had that today, but no concrete info on him yet

I wildcarded today. Knee jerky perhaps, but I had raul Jimenez and replaced him with Rodriguez, and my non-Haaland alternatice striker was numez. So some fires to put out, plus want TAA.

Current draft has Son and salah, feel like I should limit to one. Who is best Son alternative please?

I would lean toward kudus but is he off to AFCON?

I agree to some extent but also as a Toon fan Livramento has been our stand our player for the last 3-4 weeks, and all season he’s called upon. It was incredibly harsh he was dropped against Luton. I’m almost certain he starts vs. Forest, perhaps Burn or even Trippier miss out both of who he’s been much better than this season. But eventually long term yes he will be in and out of the team. But he will still play a big part this season. He’s just too good to leave out
