Did you leave the great Hall of Shame Tourney? Hope you’re still in it, I shall search again! No questions from me this week. Huzzah! Except for that one above!

Will Werner be a forward in FPL, or a mid like Son/Richarlison? Not that it matters.

Always wanted to him to score more goals - very fast - used to get caught offside too much as went to earlier - thought about the finishes but his all action/pressing & still getting into these position created chances for the rest of the team.

I've seen nothing to suggest Werner is a different player from last time. It's low risk for Spurs so I get the loan. But I'd want to see that Ange is managing to do something with him that Chelsea couldn't. I don't doubt his work ethic, but if he plays like Darwin or Jackson - i.e. the highlight reel, stats etc suggest a great deal of promise but actual delivery is way below expectations then it is no different from last time. He's a trier and I'm happy to see him given a second chance but I want to see actual goals and assists before he gets near my team - held on to him for far to long last time so for me I want to see evidence that it was being played out of position, other teams mates etc and not simply that good though he is, he can't cut it in the Premiership.

There seems to be a lot of discussion about replacing Salah & Son like-for-like with 2 midfielders.

One thing I am considering is switching to a 3-4-3 and effectively replacing one of Son/Salah with an upgrade to Archer in the 3rd forward spot.

I feel there are some interesting differentials at the moment:

    1. João Pedro (11.6% owned) - great fixture run, a rest may have helped Brighton reorganise, has had more consistent pitch time lately, and started even with Ferguson on the pitch in the FA cup.

    2. Matheus Cunha (6.9% owned) - upcoming fixtures not as tricky as they look (United, Chelsea and Spurs hardly impermeable backlines), and Wolves seem to have found some attacking verve; though query how he will

      Accidently pressed post before finishing!

Cunha - query how he'll do without Hwang, though Neto is back.

      3. Raul Jimenez (1.5% owned) - looks finally to have rediscovered his confidence, and Fulham have proved capable of multi-goal games lately. Though Iwobi is off to Afcon, he still has creativity in the likes of Andreas and Willian, and has decent upcoming fixtures.

      Thoughts?

So looked up a video of the theme playing in the pilot episode with the credits, and my kid looked over my shoulder and pointed out it was filmed in "Super Mario Nation"

I’ve got one FT left this gameweek and if there is concrete news about Haaland will use it to get him back, but failing that I’m 100% getting Joao Pedro in. That run of green fixtures, along with his high ceiling, are too good to be ignored. Hell get 2/3 pointers along the way, but Im happy to take those while waiting on double digit hauls, which im fairly sure will come

Not sold on Brighton being back to their best. There's 1 bit of evidence from their last 6 league games which was the Spurs game. Only managed 1 goal against Palace and Burnley and that West Ham blank was the 2nd following the Arsenal game having had that long run scoring in every game. I don't think Pedro's ceiling is high for those reasons, they are still struggling and missing a lot of players themselves mainly to injury.

If you’d watched West Ham and palace you’d want some attacking coverage. Very unlucky for some of their forward players not to come away with more, Gross in particular.

Bringing him and Pervis in for sure

I didn't see it thankfully, didn't sound a classic. I've seen the highlights they were unlucky etc... West Ham were pretty bad mind you. Doesn't change the overriding opinion they've not been at their clinical best this season in attack, there's a few occasions where you expect them to blow teams away like they did in the past seasons and they just aren't. I'll have to do some digging into where they were for goals scored at the mid-point last season, gut feeling is they are some way off it.

Stand corrected they were 35 in 19 last season, 38 in 19 this season so slightly up. Perhaps my memory is being impacted by frustrating spells owning Mitoma and Pedro this season already. As a result I probably won't be going there again. They are very feast and famine though, 12 of those 38 goals came in 3 games against Luton, Wolves (1st two games of season) and Spurs. I can see them being frustrating owns.

Yeah Pedro and Adingra for me already this season, dodged Mitoma.

Caveat that when europe starts might be back to square 1 again too.

Should make FPL more fun this half of the season with more uncertainty and division regarding who to replace Salah and son with, haaland is he or isn’t he fit etc

Has anyone else realised the one that believes they are making choices on transfers or formations etc is actually a false sense of self? This sense of self doesn't actually exist. It is literally a thought. This body organism knows exactly what to do, no thought is actually necessary. There is actually nothing to do .

If haaland isn't fit, who would you look to replace son with? I'm thinking v cheap like neto, elanga, garnacho - as this will make it much easier to eventually get salah back. Thanks....team below with 1 ft used

    Areola (dubravka)
    Trent porro gabriel (Cash taylor)
    Saka richarlison foden palmer (son)
    Watkins solanke (archer)

Very similar team but moving Osula for Haaland when the time is right . That leaves me with Gusto instead of your Cash as the only difference. Guess we both risked the early move of Salah to Richie.
I'm thinking of holding Son move until gw 22 to have move time to decide but yeah will also need a cheapie 5th mid eventually to get Salah back.

      Ignore the one below naturally

Treat yourself to who you think is the best midfielder and keep 2 FTs for when Salah is back. Dropping Trent to Trippier will net you 2m for example and won’t be too much of a downgrade

Pick two midfielders to replace Salah & Olise

    E - Foden

I like your shortlist; I’m aiming for ‘talismanic’ players (play all matches and everything goes through them. I’d like Saka but I’m not sure he’s worth 2-3m more than mid-priced mids (possibly him and McAtee though).

I like Wolves and think Neto will be at the front of my thinking but it’s a shame we haven’t seen more of him post-injury.

Groß is next; his random positioning on the pitch is a worry but the stats and points speak for themselves.

Eze fits the mould but just worry about Palace’s form.

I have Foden and happy to keep for the meantime but he’ll probably go at the end of AFCON/AC as rotation is more likely.

I’ve obviously got Richarlison and Jota in mind too and possibly just ignoring the mid issue and going Trippier for Estupiñan instead of one or both of these transfers

Alternative option to consider - need to monitor
      B. could be a good option as Neto has 8 assists & sits 6th on overall list & not played in last ten games,
only downside is getting match-fit - since last playing Wolves have improved.

The article says Olise is out. Is there not still a good chance he will play gameweek 21 especially with their fixture not coming until the 20th? Or has there been more news on him that I can't see?

He's suspected to be out for 4 weeks, although it'll be "at least 3 weeks" according to The Athletic. Might be a chance he makes GW22 but as an owner I won't be expecting him to start then if he does make it. Palace play at 8PM on a 6PM deadline so maybe might be lucky with some news that week

Yeah it's a tough one. GW23 is only a few days after GW22 too so in the case he has even a small setback or it just takes a little longer to recover, he could easily go from potentially missing just one game to missing 3

I’m not confident he’ll come good again. From watching the match yesterday he seemed to be moving freely up the wing but his output was all short stuff on the wing which didn’t seem to be releasing attackers on goal. I’ve not watched him much else but I remember this being an issue resulting in his slow start at the beginning of the season

Dubravka, Saliba, Charlie Taylor, Baldock, Senesi, Trippier, Salah, Son, Nakamba & later this week Solanke & Alvarez all gone in one clean sweep.

11 changes, 4 kept (Areola, Palmer, Saka, Watkins) I’ve been hanging on for a few weeks now with a lot of fires & wanted to put them out, it felt right & want to get to the DGW period with something to fight for.

238k, 1179 points, it is my sliding doors moment of the season.

keeping single digit Saka was interesting. Makes sense in the current climate with Son and Salah not here but he's not exactly been ripping it up this season.

4th highest scoring mid in the game behind Salah, Son & Bowen, ticks along like Watkins, won’t captain but you do need some steady streams.

He's a long way behind Salah and Son to be fair and competing with players much cheaper than him in most cases for those minor honours. I own him myself fwiw but he's very boring to own, just kind of forget he's there most of the time. Pretty disappointing considering his price and who he plays for.

He is but then Salah costs a lot more than him & Son is massively underpriced after last season so that’s to be expected, he doesn’t have to outscore them, he just has to tick along (like he does)

Arsenal will catch a second wind soon & opinions will change, it’s been a bad few weeks but the same thing happened last season, blips happen.

I agree with SW. Saka is getting way too much credit on the basis of the last couple seasons. Since GW7, he ranks 43rd for points per start (outfield players), behind the likes of Maupay, Tsimikas, van de Ven, Mavropanos, Mudryk, etc.

I also don't really see this as a blip. Arsenal are just not as good right now as most seem to credit them for.

                * Derbz.

Its not even about ticking over / hauling. He's just being outscored by so many other options

Up to the Villa game (the start of the blip) Arsenal were top, he was getting 5, 8, 8, 5, the team is good as is he, it’s just hit a bad patch (similar to Everton, Brentford & City or Liverpool, West Ham & Southampton last year)

No different to Watkins level of consistency who no one will sell, steady rather than explosive.

Everyone is free to sell obviously but it’s not something I’m interested in doing.

Presumably on a WC not a hit?

I was the same, too many either not likely to start eg Salah, Son. McTominay, out of form or not scoring eg Martinelli, Trippier, Martinez or a combination of the two eg Archer, Lascelles, Alvarez.

9 of 15 not required made it an easy decision.

Yeah it was with the WC, thought about it and I’ll have Salah, Son & Haaland for the run in so I’m not sure id make enough big changes for a monster spread out BB15 down the line, the changes I need to make now outweighed waiting to make them later on.

I’ve planned it all up to a potential blank if Liverpool & Chelsea make the final & every week works, Hub give each week a late 90% rating so I’m happy.

9 out of 15 is good use IMO, anything above 6/7 & it’s justifiable, hopefully there will be mass hits this week (need Haaland to train all week for that) & it could work out well.

The article linked gave the biggest nugget in there, he started on the left against Villa with Rashford forced to play out of position, switched to the right & scored 2 match winning goals.

The lad is probably their only attacker who looks in from right now, he’s a great pick as a 5th mid (& actually covers Palmer when he has difficult games and a potential blank in 26)

I had Andersen early doors, one of my better moves pre-season but he went when the fixtures got ugly. Most of them were just templates to be honest Turner, Archer, Taylor etc. Surprised at Wolves omission, not so much Fulham

I currently own Leno and Cunha whom I wildcarded in on gameweek 17. I'm not sure my Leno Pickford rotation is gonna last if I get any spare transfers! Will need every penny to keep Trent once Salah and Son are back in the equation. Don't really wanna spend the next 6 gameweek cost cutting or preparing for imaginary doubles though.

Haaland in Gameweek 22 would work out well for me.

That doesn’t look good for his gw21 prospects. De Bruyne as well

Pep has said he will need to manage KDBs mins anyway. I would not be going there until he starts a couple of games after a long layoff

Well getting in Pau a few weeks ago after seeing him on the bench has been a complete waste!

Can't wait for Archer's 1 point against West ham next week

Nah, Archer needs to score to stop these ridiculous Areola clean sheets

I wouldn't say he is essential but nice to have if I have a spare transfer.

Before Xmas Brighton trying to balance Europe have been poor in the PFL,
however noticed he scored in Brighton FA CUP 2 v 4 away to Stoke City yesterday.

Interesting looking at the fixtures for Brighton from GW21 someone that had gone under my radar - will put on list to watch
      GW21 WOL (H) / GW22 LUT (A) / GW23 CRY (H) / GW24 TOT (A) / GW25 SHU (A) / GW26 EVE (H) / GW27 FUL (A)

Brightons fixs are so good that you almost have to gamble on them.
