I was just refreshing my memory why I didn’t go for Jota. Main reason is that they have a very busy schedule and matches are quite hard (I think most thought that most thought that Bournemouth would be difficult to get through). I thought Saka and Richarlison were better based on stats and fixtures (with Groß third choice and I already own Foden) and stand by that, no matter how difficult it is now.

      What was your thinking?

Well first up, it was a WC and secondly I took a one week punt on Sterling (don’t ask me why) and was also a tad concerned that Jota might not start so started Pedro instead. So just a 24hr bug for him would be lovely but yep I’m still wondering how I came to this decision as I was even looking at Jota for captaincy at some point. And yes I’m crying

Some statement of intent that from Liverpool with all those key players out. From an FPL perspective wierdly Trent playing makes them worse defensively, gives opponents an obvious target. The lad Bradley looks the part.

I think Bournemouth helped them out a fair bit today tbf, didn’t look like the team who have been playing well on their good run that’s for sure.

Liverpool turned it on in the second half but it wasn’t looking good at HT.

Everyone has to remember the Liv dillemas vs others like Foden, KDB, Pedro, Toney etc was that this was their only easyish fixture in the next 5 and they also blank. Whereas the alternatives have better fixture runs and/or doubles.

People tend to only look at what's just happened, not what can happen over the next bunch of weeks.

You can see that from the rage transfers that get done when player X doesn't haul, then the regret when a few weeks later said sold player hits form and gets his points.

      1. shorey143
        • 4 Years

Exactly. I contemplated Jota/Darwin but across the next 5 I thought get Pedro, roll the transfer to see what’s happening with Salah for the following week. Literally zero regrets as will be the right decision by week 27

I palmer slots a pen and ends up with 1 less point than Darwin brace

Anyone else think they should just do a flat points for a goal across all positions? Feel like it would make strikers a bit better of an option

      No
I wouldn't be opposed to more muted points for penalties though e.g. 3-4 for any player taking regardless of position and less of a bps impact (positive or negative) for scoring or missing

Mids even with penalties should score less goals than strikers.

Regardless just buy Palmer and stop crying.

Will no doubt moan defenders should get more for assists and goals next week cos Porto scores but concedes 4 and gets the same as Solanke or something

80 on wildcard, my old team would have scored around 30/40 if that.

Got Estupinian left but went from 238k to 91k, delighted I didn’t wait, season would have been badly damaged.

Trippier, Saliba, Solanke, Alvarez, Son/Salah, then the subs Taylor, Baldock, Senesi, Nakamba, only Palmer did anything & I would have probably captained Saka or Alvarez.

    Big sigh of relief.

Seems rival this year not making any mistakes looks like he been watching content creators. 120pts clear off me and 22k rank. Already has Toney for double left trent on the bench.

    Worth WC

    Areola* Dubrav

    Porro* Walker Estu* Trippier* Senesi

    Foden* Saka* Gross Diaz Sterling
    Solanke Alavrez Watkins*

Looking at the squad, who could really do with swapping out? Trips, Diaz, Sterling, Alvarez, I’d say. (Of course, you could switch more on a WC, but I wouldn’t say they were essentially “get rids”). Could a hit this GW suffice? You’ll really need that WC to have massive upside to close that gap, so you gotta ask which GW are you going to catch the biggest points up turn by hitting the button.

Look at the next 5 fixtures and load up on the players with the best ones and are on form. I think you can find someone to out score Jota for example through to 27. That’s where you eat up the deficit.

48 points with Estu and Gross to go.
14 points up to safety and a -300% rank drop!
