Thoughts on getting Richa this week? Still some good fixtures before the blank. Or rather go with Jota? Rashford punt probably too expensive. Gordon should be also good but maybe after the AV game.

seeing boro trying to play out from the back last night was painful and further highlights that most 'up and coming' managers (mainly former players) only see one way to play football now. its this all encompassing philosophy that they see no room for manoevre with and you can tell that players have pretty much become robots now. i must do this or il be dropped and the majority of them just dont have the ability to do it properly.

Waiting. His cash gives a bit of scope for De Bruyne, Toney, AFCON, Asian Cup players, etc, and negotiating GW25 and 26 with less hits. No forwards doing great right now but that doesn't mean Halaand will hit the ground running after a few weeks off.

Assuming Liverpool and City both double in 25, which assets do you want?

    Liverpool: TAA, Jota, Darwin?
    City: Foden, Haaland, Alvarez?

I don't think you can get all of them. Looks like there's a decent chance Salah won't be fit in time and that actually might work out because you need the funds to afford the rest of the players.

I think I can get all 6 of those players in time for the double with just FTs but it'll be close and the budget will have to be carefully managed. Much easier if Salah is out. If he's not out... that makes things way tougher.

    1. The Knights Template
      • 12 Years

I already have all those Man City players, and will likely sell Salah this week for Jota. So the other two lollygaggers are not out of reach, but might go Noonan over TAA.

You need factor in the potential Liverpool blank in 26 and other BGW players you may have (Chelsea/Spurs) which may impact the number of doublers in 25 unless you play a chip

        Honestly, I think I FH 26.

I have 2 Spurs and 2 Chelsea players. If I get 3 Pool players, it's an easy FH week for me since I'd be down 7.

        1. I Member
          • 10 Years

Yeah I already have Richarlison, Palmer, Porro and Gusto. Loading up on Liverpool assets would make 26 tough for me so there are decisions to be made. Would prefer to save my FH for later.

I don't know how much more value you can get out of a FH.

I only have 3 bench slots for 26 and two of them look taken already by Porro and Palmer. So that leaves 1 or maybe 2 spots left (play with 10) which just doesn't work considering the limited transfers we have until 25 plus the desire to get a bunch of Liverpool assets in 25.

FH25 doesn't work either because you want those Liverpool players in and around that week.

If Pool double in 25, blank in 26, I think the decision is made. I can use the 2nd WC to get out of jail in the blanks.

Me neither and I'll likely swap him for Darwin come 25 but until Alvarez actually is on the bench, I'm gonna keep hold of him. We have no idea how they'll play yet. He could continue to play regularly with KdB an impact sub for a few more weeks.

Yeah I get that and I do still have Alvarez (with KDB and Foden). My plan is to lose Alvarez to Haaland though when he's fully back which I'm assuming he will be by gw25.

Don't like to use FH this early but am kinda sharing you view at the moment. The Che blank taking Spurs with them is significant certainly.

Son back though may mean Richarlison can go for me and my Gomez punt has probably just about run it's course leaving me only TAA from Pool so I may manage to scrape through.

These are the times we love though - some serious headscrathing 🙂

Agree with this. Once Haaland is available to start, Alvarez xMins will drop. I would find it difficult to hold Alvarez until he is benched when he is vying for a FWD spot against nailed 90 mins Watkins and Solanke

    5. Nate(U)dog(ie)
      • 5 Years
      2 years, 1 month ago

Don't dig Alvarez, maybe he'll pick up in going back to playing behind Haaland but he's not looked great of late, maybe he just needs a bit of a reset given he's had to play so much (no-one has started more games than him and only Walker has played more mins). Choice for me is triple City attack or keep Walker and forego Foden/Bernardo/KDB (have the first two). Things can change very quickly with City mids though so I'm not assuming anything this far away

Does this look like a BB or a TC week?

I'm shaping up to be able to get this team together for GW25. 6 doublers. Bernardo is a luxury option. Could just be Richarlison

    Areola
    TAA Estupinan Porro
    Jota Saka Foden Bernardo
    Haaland Darwin Watkins

    Bench boost would be:
Dubravka (BOU), Diego Carlos (ful), Gabriel (bur), Palmer (mci)

TC would be on Haaland most likely ofc but that bench looks quite tasty... Kind of want to just get the BB out of the way.

Could do Toney but I think I like Darwin more.

Actually... If Spurs and Chelsea double in 25 as well, I could land up with this insane looking team:

        Areola Dubravka
        TAA Porro Estupinan Gabriel Colwill
        Jota Foden Richarlison Son Palmer
        Haaland Darwin Alvarez

That's 100% a BB team. It has 11 doublers! Only the GKs, Estupinan and Gabriel are SGW. I can get here with just FTs as well.

Chelsea would be crazy to let their home game v Spurs to be moved to the Thursday night before a Sunday afternoon Cup final in GW25, on the basis that it would be fair as Liverpool could move their game v Luton H !! on the same night. The games are not comparable in terms of the energy, history, local derby in difficulty. I know this came from Ben Crellin, (see Camsy above), but don't think he's thought it through!

with neither Chelsea or Spurs in Europe doesnt it go into the same category of importance as the Bou vs Lut game, as in can be fit in anywhere later on in the season, so there is no urgency to fit it in early ?

He's come up with crap scenarios often and gives them a low percentage which adds a lot of noise for me, so I never really look at his planning charts over the years.

Given I've not followed this fixture planning, do we know why will Liverpool move their fixture a week ahead? It's all good to say Liverpool may not have a free midweek later but what if they just lose in Europa, there's plenty of free midweeks.

To be fair, he does an unbelievable job and presents information and possibilities in a really clear and concise way. Regarding Liverpool, You can say what if they do go out, but that’s no good if they don’t and it’s too late. Based on historical decisions, they’ll get the game played early if there is potentially not space later.

"he does an unbelievable job and presents information and possibilities in a really clear and concise way."

Just my opinion, they are usually all over the place with a million scenarios/color codes and anything but clear and concise. To each his own though.

How many times have they really rescheduled fixtures a week or two before the actual blank? Generally, the trend is usually let the blank happen and then the reschedule. In this case, we're talking about putting in a game 3 days before a final right? No way that happens realistically.

Ever since he got dog's abuse when he made some wrong predictions - including not predicting the Man U TGW - a few seasons ago, he has played it ultra safe and now just presents every possible outcome as a possibility, unless it is something obvious. Personally, I prefer this approach as his old approach meant he was hero or zero (which also is not always good for business when trying to farm Twitter interactions, or beg for "buy me a coffee" money)

His spreadsheets are about as well presented as you can get, but their existence does takes away some of the fun of the old days when people used to come up with their own planning spreadsheets and try to work things out for themselves, and by talking to other people on here (Crellin used to be part of this of this "group"). There is no point in doing this now as it is all done for you. This obviously doesn't impact those that were/are content with just being spoon-fed, who will - rightly - see him as a valuable resource.

"this came from Ben Crellin, (see Camsy above)"

Camsy is Ben Crellin? I never realised.

        I am not Ben Crellin...

But yeah, the news basically is that GW25 could be a triple double. We will see. If Pool win tonight, most likely they will double in 25.

    https://www.efl.com/news/2024/january/24/efl-schedule-confirmed-for-2024-25-season/

EFL saying the League Cup semis will continue as two legs, and by the way they word it they clearly have no desire to change this without some serious ££££££

I got Haaland in yesterday because ‘Hotspurs86’ told me on here he would 100% play vs Burnley. Worth it to get rid now (would be for a hit) or wait to see if we get more info?

Be careful taking advice from Hotspurs86!!!

Why in gods name would you take some random forum posters word for granted?
Most legit articles are filled with half truths and speculation...
