Am I mad considering Dougherty over a liverpool defender?

Yup. Unless you're thinking about the following blanks but the Liverpool double is very nice.

I mean I'm going Luton defender over Liverpool too but that's due to only having 4.1 to spend on the defender

No. I think he's a great option especially for the money. The GW28 double is the sweetener.

I feel A is safer and B has more upside so it depends how you feel the rest of your team is set up. Think I’d prefer B for the pure upside pick (provided you’re happy benching them in the BGW)

Sin Bins introduced into the Premier League with a BLUE CARD being discussed tomorrow,
possible for next season - what do you feel about it?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8HI8hWwe0g

    Plus:-
    Dissent
    Tactical Fouls

    Negative:-
Games take longer (added time)- going very American - keep the game simple - does not need changing
Players - what do they do in this time - cold whilst waiting - injury

Won't happen in the prem for a very long time (if at all), be interesting to see how it works lower down the leagues though.

Logically they would be able to warm up and down. The punishment is that they are playing no part of the game. Injuries arising from the sin bin don't appear to be an issue in other sports.
Along with 10 metres for dissent and dialogue only with the captain, it should be beneficial to the game, certainly more-so than the VAR debacle we have now.
The main issue is there has to be uniformity from every referee, every time. Thats where it'll fall down.

      1. Casual Player
        • 5 Years

I like captain only talks to ref and moving the spot up the field for dissent. It's disgraceful how players treat refs in soccer at all levels. Other football codes would give long bans for things that happen every Saturday at every level.

      It's more rugby than American?

In theory makes sense as a middle ground between a stern warning and playing with 10 for a full game.

In reality, it will lead to massive debates about blue v red cards, more pressure on referees, who will lose the courage to give reds early in games, etc. Unless it's specifically for professional fouls only like diving, that don't warrant a red but needs to be eliminated.

Overall, I'd probably say not worth implementing because the unintended consequences will outweigh the positives.

Toying with getting an extra doubler:-
Palmer to Barkley this week for a hit to target SHU, or next week for free please?
(I think in reality Palmer at Palace gets within 4 points of Barkley).

Lots of great options in midfield plus Diaz has 8 goal contributions to Darwin’s 16 this season. He might be incredibly frustrating to own but if they both play the same minutes I’d back Darwin to do better

Evening, gents, been a while since I dropped in. Thoughts on Watkins or Solanke > Darwin for a -4 ahead of GW24 & 25? Just did Gordon > Jota with my FT to avoid the price drop. Was almost certain on it earlier but feeling less bullish... Niggling feeling Burnley won't be a pushover. Thoughts appreciated!

    Dubravka

    Trippier - Walker - Gabriel

    Foden - Saka - D.Jota - Palmer

Not for a hit I don't think. Solanke has great fixtures 24, 27, 28 and doesn't blank in 26. Watkins is a lot better than Darwin, averages 6.3 PPG to Darwin's 4.1. Darwin could get a rest in on of the fixtures in the double, Watkins won't blank in 26 or 29

That's tough. I would be tempted to move Salah in order to facilitate Haaland. I know each week that passes is another week closer to Salah's fitness, but I think with unknowns around his return date, I'd look at downgrading. With the amount that will TC Haaland in 25, it'll be a tough spot not TC'ing, let alone not owning

      1. Nazz
        • 11 Years

So reckon I can sort this with a -4?
        What moves?
        Salah to foden/jota
        Alvarez to haarland?
        Konsa out?
        I don't have a playing keeper:(

          • 13 Years

I'd say (just my opinion) Salah > Foden & Alvarez > Haaland and then Kaminski (I really like Ederson or Allison but most don't fancy spending big on a keeper) in ahead of Turner or Sanchez for the -4. Team is back looking solid again imo.

    A) Estupinan -> Doughty (bench Gabriel)
    B) Solanke -> Darwin (bench Palmer)
    C) Estupinan + Trippier -> Doughty + TAA -4 (bench Gabriel)
    C) Roll and reassess next week

I would probably bring Solanke back in for his double in 28 (or even a week earlier for Burnley) amd I'd probably ditch TAA when he blanks fpr field 11 so I'm not sure if it's worth making a transfer that I'll be changing in a couple of weeks.

Don’t think Solanke to Darwin is worth a hit this week, personally. But if you’re spreading it over the double 25 then yeh I guess.
      Like the rest of it.

Rarely post full squad here but too many options this week. Haaland, Jota, Richarlison, Doughty and Cunha/Neto on the wish list.

    2 FTs
    6.0 ITB

    Dubravka (Strakosha)
    TAA Gabriel Gomez (Konsa, Taylor)
    KdB Foden Saka Palmer (Gordon)
    Alvarez Solanke Watkins

Pretty set on Alvarez > Haaland.
Happy to take up to -8 for doubles.

    Thanks

Not doing great at the moment and decided to hit the wildcard with gw25 round the corner. Wildcard team so far is
    Areola/Flekken
    Estup/Branthwaite/porro/bradley/ doughty
    Salah/KDB/Palmer/Gordon/Foden
    Watkins/Morris/Haaland

Only worry is Salah being back for GW25 and even then will he get full game time. Also is KDB and Foden overkill on city front. I didn't have Foden last week and it cost me big time.

    Any thoughts or improvements welcome

Not a fan of Estup at the moment. Lamptey could be taking his place.
I like the idea of getting ahead with Salah, you could easily bench him this week.
Foden won’t score a hattrick again this week.
Gordon might be injured - could you upgrade him to Jota and save cash somewhere else?

Yeah plan was to bench Salah as even if he plays against Burnley it would only be as a sub. I did think of Jota but don't have the cash only way would be to switch out Gordon and Foden for Jota and another.

I think Estu was given a break, Brighton has a great run after this week.

Mind you if he doesnt play this weekend, he is on the chopping block for sure. Just cant see it.

    Currently on

    Salah + Solanke -> Haaland + Jota.

Is Alvarez -> Darwin -4 worth it?

    Dubrav
    TAA - Porro - Gabriel
    Salah - Saka - Foden - Palmer
    Watkins - Alvarez - Solanke

Areola - Gross - Estu - Van Hecke
