Play Estu (EVE) this week or bring in any defender up to 5.2m for a hit?

    A) Estupinan (EVE)
    B) defender up to 5.2m for a -4

    1. The Tonberry
      • 1 Year
      1 year, 9 months ago

Have a similar dilemma. Leaning towards not taking a hit for a defender and playing the Perv.

At least Estupinan will get 1 point which is better than most defenders this week. For the hit to only even out, whichever defender you bring in will need to get a clean sheet (or an attacking return) and there's no guarantee that will happen.

      1. Miguel Sanchez
        • 9 Years

Or use as an opportunity to get a defender you want/need ahead of the curve. In this case would be Senesi for the double but he has City this week which is hardly ideal.

For this GW in isolation, I think there's enough 'upside' to warrant bringing in a Wolves full-back for a hit, albeit they probably won't feature in gw29.

Same problem and I'm doing A.

      B.

This transfer for Solanke is going to happen by GW28 anyway so it's better for transfer momentum. Palmer is also an asset for GW27 and 28 that I'd rather have than Hwang. He's the best value player in the game, period.

If you think beyond this week, Solanke + Palmer will set you up much better for future weeks and Solanke is capable of getting a return this week anyhow.

      1. Gommy
        • 15 Years

It's a valid argument and would be as straight forward as it sounds if Sheffield United were not as poor as they were. Shipping 10 goals in 2 of their last 3 is also seen as an opportunity not to be missed.

It's fine lines and waiting for Solanke one more week may work out perfectly, depending on how precious the selling value lost in Palmer is to the Team in question at this stage of the season. I sold last week having bought him for £4.9m and will be happy to be without him till GW30.

I think selling Palmer last week made a lot more sense. Now it's tougher to justify. I think he's just a season hold for a lot of teams since his price is so friendly and allows you more flexibility to get in the players you want.

Hwang or Neto? The question on everyone's lips.
Let's face it: both are good picks, but don't be too shocked if Joao Gomez or Sarabia are the ones who get attacking returns...

Personally, I'm getting Hwang for Jota and Solanke for Darwin, but the prospect of owning both Neto (in for Palmer) and Hwang has crossed my mind while delaying Solanke to dgw28.

Gomes might pop up with the odd return but its really no contest FPL-wise, e.g. shots in the box: Gomes 5, Hwang 31 / xG: Gomes 0.95 Hwang 6.37

With Hojlund & Neto you could choose pretty much any week, except I would probably avoid that City fixture ideally. Maybe you could make it work in 28 if you lose Botman for Senesi/Doughty? Not the greatest fixture for Petrovic (as per article above) but the extra fixture for a defender should make up for that

Iniesta = 442 games, 35 goals for Barcelona
James Ward Prowse = 334 games, 49 goals for Southampton

Doesn't that make JWP a better player than Iniesta? Lol. He's not even fit enough to lace Iniesta's boots. Stats aren't the only metric. Real life football isn't FPL.

David William Moyes never signed Iniesta, thus JWP is clear

Jwp never won the world cup. We are comparing world class footballers, don’t make the mistake of bringing semi professional footballers into the debate please.

Actually, Müller has more than 302 assists so I am wrong.

Who scores more this week - Mykolenko or Solanke?

    RP

    Iniesta : 970 games, 102 goals, 193 assists.

    Özil : 693 games, 120 goals, 260 assists.

Fair to say Özil was better than Iniesta or simply underrated?

Best option here? B) gives me (1) an improvement on Burn (ars) this GW (2) a benched player in case of a no-show and (3) a possible extra 29 starter (if I go with the likes of Pau/Cash). Currently planning to save the FH for one of the later DGWs.

    A) Darwin -> Solanke
    B) A + Bradley -> 4.8m [Cash/Pau] (-4) and bench Burn

    Areola
    Gabriel, Estupinan, Burn
    KDB, Saka, Foden, Gordon
    Haaland, Watkins

    Kelleher, Porro, Bradley, Palmer, Darwin
    Bank 0.1m, 1FT

Pau won’t outscore burn by more than 4 points to make it worth it

Yeah, but its really which of these score best, since Pau has a 29 fixture also.

        A) Burn (ars)
        B) Pau (NFO, whu) -4

With B) there's also the benefit of having Burn on the bench in case any of my other starters don't play, since I'd have no bench for sure with A)

Already did Jota to Saka. Now,

    Leno
    Gabriel, Aké, Estupiñán, Branthwaite, Robinson
    Saka, Foden
    Haaland (c), Watkins

    Areola, Richarlison, Adebayo, Palmer, Salah

    A. Play 10
    B. Richarlison to Neto for a hit
    C. Estu to someone (Senesi?) for a hit

I was tempted like you to keep salah, but with his fitness and liverpools fixtures, (city 28 blank 29), have you considered salah to Hwang/Neto?!

Is Hwang the ultimate differential captain this week?!

Made some mistakes last few weeks and chasing!

Willing to do -4 for Hwang or any other player who might be that explosive differential.

Currently have 10 so looking to sell salah or Bradley or KDB to field 11!

    KDB-Saka-Gordon-Foden- (Blank)
    Solanke-Haaland-Watkins

Pau Torres. Nailed and plays both 26 and 29 with decent (ish) fixtures

Depends what your plans are for 28 and 29 ,,, but Pau's a good choice

Do you have to sell VVD? Would help to know chip strategy & who the other defenders are, but I think any move you make is a downgrade longer-term

Defender transfers will depend on chip strategy/ BGW29

What are people thinking about Trossard? a few goals in his last few games, If Jesus is back he usually comes on for Martinelli at 60mins.

    Thoughts?
