    Areola Raya
    Doughty* VanD* Gusto* Trippier Walker
    Diaz* Jota* Palmer* Rich* Foden
    Haaland Watkins Toney
    *not playing

    a) free hit
    b) 2 transfer for -4 and playing in 9

Not an easy one to solve. You have more GKs than midfielders! You definitely want to sell Jota as he'll be out for a while. You'll probably want to keep Doughty for the upcoming DGW. You already have the frontline most would want this week.

Let's say you ringfence three players and your bench looks like: Areola, Doughty, Diaz, Palmer. That means your remaining players that you're considering ditching are: VVD, Gusto, Jota, Richarlison. So look at who you'd want for this week to replace them, and whether they'd outscore them in the next 3-5 GWs or whether they're only good for a one-week punt.

With two good midfielder transfers, your 9 players will be strong, many of which would be up for discussion for a free hit anyway. I think using a FH to gain 2 extra players, and maybe improving a player or 2 elsewhere is a waste. You'll get much more benefit with a FH in a DGW, making up for those 2 lost fixtures this time round.

I'd even debate taking a -8 to bring in a Villa defender as well. a -4 becomes a -2 basically straight away, and Forest & Luton are two fixtures where they can easily make that back.

    Gabriel Tripper Zinchenko Lascelles Doughty

    0.7m ITB

It will be for a -4 but otherwise I'm likely to field 10 in gw26 anyway as I don't think Zinchenko will play

    A) Zinchenko to Saliba
    B) Lascelles to Dawson/Region/Pau
    C) Zinchenko to pretty much any other defender

I'm likely to FH29 unless there are some major upsets. I think I have 3-4 players right now that have fixtures in 29 so will be very hard to navigate but a playing 29 defender could keep the options open

    1. TitusShambles
      • 10 Years
      2 years, 1 month ago

Youd probably want to remove Lascelles i think hes back fit now but very unlikely he'll start + NEW defence is one of the worst so feels like hes the one to go...

could consider Brighton defence, as their next 3 are decent fixtures. Or West Ham, again they're in a bad run of form but feel that could pick up, Pacqueta return imminent too. 3 of their next 4 fixtures are at home

RP - interesting stat here on United attack

Man Utd with a L-R attack of Rashford-Hojlund-Garnacho: Played 7, Won 6, Drawn 1, Lost 0. In 6 PL games, scored 16 goals, averaging 2.67 per game.

Man Utd with any other attacking combo: Played 28, Won 12, Drawn 2, Lost 14. In 19 PL games, scored 19 goals...1 per game.

I think that's just saying United/s form has improved lately, and Hojlund has started finding the net.

3 facts that should worry any United fan:

      - Hojlund is our (joint) top scorer and he didn't score a league goal until Boxing Day
      - McTominay is the other joint top scorer
      - Hannibal has more league goals than Antony and he plays for Sevilla

Crazy to think of Hwang for Captain over Haaland?

doesn't get much better than home to SHU, and haaland is away.

also chasing massively in my mini leagues...

I'm chasing too, thinking of going with Neto.

Like you say, for no other reason than SHU at home has massive potential.

Will be scary going without Haaland, though. Yes it's an away game but I still expect City to dominate and score 2/3 goals

It's probably one of the few gameweeks that it may pay off to go against Haaland, his EO looks like it will be about 100%. Hwang at home against one of the worst defense in premiership history is a good shout.

Except that this is usually not how life or FPL works.

Haaland and KdB will end up with the hauls everyone was hoping and expecting them both to get last DGW and Hwang will max out at an assist, a BAP and appearance points. Just in time for everyone to cap Hwang

    Areola
    Gabriel Maguire Lamptey
    De Bruyne Foden Saka Garnacho
    Haaland Watkins Solanke

    Dubravka Guehi* Porro* Jota*

Theoretically my starting XI looks ok this week, but with KDB doubts, and Lamptey (and possibly Maguire?) rotation risk, I need to do something to up the numbers.

    A - Jota -> Hwang (bench Solanke)
    B - Porro -> Saliba (bench Lamptey)
    C - both (-4)

    1. The Tonberry

Bowen will become Salah next week anyway and wouldn't need to take a hit for it if I take the hit this week instead.

Probably wouldn't take the hit to do Bowen to Hwang this week as at least Bowen will play, get the full 90 and Brentford at home is a decent fixture. Can't see KDB playing the full 90 and still question whether he'll feature at all this week.

Doing transfers when the team has no midweek fixture is not totally risk free...

More from Erik on Rasmus: "It is a small injury. That is what happens and the risk [when you are] playing at high intensity.

"As I say it is not a big injury, but he has to wait for one, two, three weeks."

KDB is becoming a problem. Glad I got him in for Newcastle cameo but he isn't an option now, especially with so much uncertainty around blanks and doubles strategy. Which scores more this week?

    B. Hwang (SHU) -4

I'd risk B tbh. Worst case you lose out by 2 points or so. But there's a chance Wolves score 3/4 against SHU and Hwang will be involved. If KDB has a cameo you wouldn't think it will be massively high scoring

From what Pep said I feel like KdB won't start. In which case he either gets rested entirely (if City are leading comfortably) or comes on to get an assist to the winning goal. Either way Hwang potential return is much greater

Not sure . If you think Hwang will get a couple of returns. Go for it

I agree. I took the chance early same as you but this was on the basis the hamstring was OK. Now we know the problem is still latent and with CL back I think 2 City is plenty enough.

have 11 in theory once I do Jota out with ft, but this includes: Zinch, Estu, Taylor and KdB.

Any of these worth a hit out? (FH29)

Which one for this gameweek? Quite like Martinelli as a differential (can't afford Ode). Will bring Solanke in for the double regardless. A also leaves me with a benching headache next week!

    A) Darwin to Solanke
    B) Palmer to Martinelli

Can field 11 but only with Taylor.

    Darwin > Toney worth -4?

    Dubravka
    Taylor - Estupinan* - Zincehnko* - VVD**
    Foden - KDB - Saka
    Watkins - Haaland - Solanke

    Keheller** - Palmer ** - Richarlison ** - Doughty**
    1ft, 0,6 ITB.

    Transfer 1: VVD -> Gabriel

    A) No hits, hope Zinch and Estu start
    B) Zinchenko -> Pau Torres/Saliba -4
    C) Estuinan out
    D) B+C

Difficult with Zinhenko comment... Might as well stick with him and get someone else for Estu?

“Let’s see [on whether Thomas Partey will be available]. We have another session today, obviously he’s been out for many, many months now and we need to really nail the timing and when he has enough in the tank to compete. But I think he’s very close.

“Same with Gabi [Jesus] as well, he’s done a few things. Alex [Zinchenko] is not far, too.

“Tomiyasu still a little bit more, I think.” – Mikel Arteta"

Paqueta back in contention entice folks to Kudus/Bowen this GW?

'We picked up injuries to important players in the last couple of months, and we had players away at #AFCON2024. But Lucas Paquetá is back in training and very close to returning, so that will give us a boost. He’s in contention [for Monday], and we’ll have to see where he is...'

'... we had Mick (Antonio) back last week, we’ve had Mo (Kudus) back from the AFCON, so it’s good that we’re getting most of the squad back together.'

May consider Bowen over Bailey now. Don't want to FH in 29 so need someone with a fixture that week.

Potentially. Still think PL will be priority and Bailey be the starter there, with Diaby playing Europe. Bowen certainly safer in terms of minutes but higher upside with Bailey

Pacqueta makes Bowen an option no doubt. Bailey is a good pick regardless though, why not both if not FHing in 29. I'm considering going with FH29 and will probably have both

Ah fair. Tough call. I'd be tempted by Bowen because I feel like there'll be more goals in that game, but it's too early to tell how much of an impact Pacqueta coming back will have on WHU's form. I'm going to wait on Bowen until 28/29

Yes, Bowen tempting now. Was going to go Luiz and Bailey for Jota and Palmer with one eye on gw 29.

I'd wait to see them get the form back before diving in

Or at least to see Paqueta complete a match. There have been a few too many high-profile *recurring* injuries recently

    Areola (Dub)

    Est Gab Reguilon (Bell Gusto)

    Foden KDB Saka (Barkley Palmer)

    Haaland Toney Watkins

    Zero Transfers 3.3 ITB

    A. Play with 10 no hits

    B. Bell to Cash or anyone up to 5.0 to get 11 for a -4. Then I can do KDB to Salah no hits next week all being well

    C. Bell to Saliba or anyone up to 6.0 as I can do Toney to Solanke n KDB to Salah next week for a -4, but it’ll be -8 over the 2 weeks.

    D. Any other options?

Thinking of A to be honest?

    Cheers!

Finding a Jota replacement is not easy. Want to save some Salah-money and go cheap, but also a third Arsenal is tempting.

    1ft and 1.1itb
    Areola
    Walker, Gabriel, Estu
    Neto, Foden, Saka(c)
    Haaland, Watkins
    (Dub, Virgil, Alfie, Palmer)

Want Solanke in for Darwin, and will take a hit to replace Jota.
    Jota to:
    - Adingra (my preferred option and will free up cash for Salah)
    - Gross
    - Ødegaard
    - Bowen or Kudos (go for fixtures if Paqueta is back)
    - Any other?

GW29 is not that important to focus on for me, I think that gameweek is beeing overhyped and will not use transfers just for that gameweek unless we get more games the upcoming week that creates more potensial upside.

Highly unlikely Jota already has over a million sales and counting this GW, Hojlund total ownership isn't much higher than that.
