Hit it wide as a professional footballer from 12 yards you look silly too. You have to be cooold to do that.

Point being is he hits it hard in corner and it is saved it’s looks less bad if he chips it and keeper just stands and catches it.

Takes balls though of course so fair play, but no doubt it’s riskier.

He was my favourite, hit it so hard that even if the keeper did save it the ball would take the keeper into the net, like against Derby that time

I agree with what you mean if you are going to bench players you can celebrate because of not losing points if they have high EO.

Spurs vs Luton: Half Time Summary

    TOT 0-1 LUT

    Chong 3’

    Assists: Barkley

(Did this for the first time for NEW vs WHU earlier and seemed appreciated. Let me know if people enjoy, this one more detailed but may have tipped over into too much information so feedback welcome 🙂 )

    Tactics:

    Spurs (4-2-3-1):

Son dropping in as a 10 to link up play on the counter and doing it very well, picking up on half turn and driving. Maddison often dropping deep on the left and picking it up from the centre backs. Bissouma-Sarr very lopsided ,Bissouma filling in for Udogies runs on the left with Sarr pushing high on the right. Udogie pushing v high, Udogie or Sarr often seen in striker position. Porro quiet going forward.

    Luton (4-3-3):
Back four for Luton, leaving space for Werner out wide but meaning more bodies in central midfield. Pressing high out of possession, sticking man to man, Burke sometimes very high when Maddison drops deep.

    Chances/Threat:

Werner the biggest threat from the left, Kulu/Son always looking for him when time in central positions. One big chance (15’) where got in behind, beat his man and big chance across goal, just wide of far post (with Udogie making the run as central striker for support). Werner did well to set up Son on edge of box (45+3’), well blocked. On a few other occasions well tracked by Kabore, impressive defending 1v1.

Spurs best when winning ball back high. One particular chance (19’) super unlucky for Son/Spurs, given away in midfield by Luton and Son put through on goal. Round keeper before shot rebounded off both posts (good defending on the line to reduce angles). Second follow up also blocked on the line.

Very smart counter from Luton early on for the goal (3’), Townsend beating Son to the ball in his own half then driving all the way down the right wing (beating Bissouma too easily). Good ball inside to Barkley who spotted Chong over on the far side, good finish across the keeper. Udogie at striker when Son lost the ball in in a central midfield position, meant space for Townsend to run into. Porro had got back on the other side but Spurs not fully set and Romero and Porro both concerned with Morris, left Chong free at the back post.

Luton free kicks in own half launched forward, led to recycled chance for Morris. Route One but effective. Good ball from Townsend for Doughty volley at back post (44’), well blocked Porro. Free header missed by Berry from resulting set piece.

Summary: Could easily be 1-1 or 2-1, Spurs will still create chances second half but Luton generally impressive. Second goal on the counter/set piece not out of the question.

Cheers all for the kind words! Definitely more chances for Spurs and Son and definitely the better team now, Johnson on has been very good and him and Porro threatening down the right. If the big chance does fall to Son would back him to out it away but Werner getting into very good positions as well
