Am thinking of Doku as a punt. He seems explosive down the flank and think he would get minutes against Luton. Yay or Nay????

He’s such an exciting player to watch. If you can live with the perpetual suspense around City players’ minutes, why not

One of those players where him starting is only half of the battle - he then has to score points. Which he usually doesn't. I'd look elsewhere.

Not for me. Haaland, Foden and defender for 3rd. Too many other good mids who are more likely to get game time and take pens etc

I wouldn't because I don't think he gets enough minutes and his output has been really sporadic. There are better punts imo.

I think "explosive down the flank" is a bit OTT. He only has 2 goals and 6 assists all season and 1 goal and 4 assists were in 1 game v Bournemouth so it's a really poor return for the rest of the season.

Hi team, after some advice here please.

    A. Son & Bradley > Foden & Robbo/VVD (have to play Muniz in 34BB, or Gusto to a very cheap doubler).

    B. Son & Bradley > Diaz & Mitchell (Can go Muniz to Solanke it 34BB).

Sounds good. Or, given that he could be benched both GWs (would you transfer Palmer and Son next week?) you could upgrade Zabarnyi to Munoz? (If that’s an upgrade). You’re frustratingly 0.1 from upgrading Areola to Henderson

Oh, is Sarabia a rotation risk? I think I’ll do Son to Eze next week. A but unsure whether I find Munoz appealing, maybe Ait Nouri in that case (if deemed fit), given his offensive positioning of late?

Can’t seem to decide if I should take a hit or so to bench boost in 34 or not, sigh…

MacAlister v Darwin. Who is the better 3rd Pool player for DGW34?

Mac means weaker frontline with Solanke Mateta Cunha/DCL. Mac is nailed and adding goals of late.

Darwin improves frontline and allows room for Eze/Sarabia. Darwin could go mental or not and rotating with Gakpo a lot.

Yes as I'm only 0.1 short in doing Porro fo VVD.

This is actually one of two options I'm considering at the moment. Just wanted to see if others come to the same conclusion

    2. The Tonberry

Tough as you're fairly set for 34. Maybe just upgrade Areola to Pickford, or if there's news that Hwang is unlikely to make 34, then move him onto Eze. Or if Ait Nouri is passed fit, then bring him in for Porro

      1. Tonyawesome69
        • 6 Years
        1 year, 8 months ago

Interesting GK move, I did think of Taylor to Branthwaite/Mykolenko/ Tarkowski in order to have 2FTs in 34.

I don't think Hwang starts in 34 based on how GON has managed Cunha and didn't make the squad at the weekend.

Eze is likely my replacement for Foden in 34.

If I go Ait Nouri for Porro this GW, I could bring in Diaz as my 3rd Liverpool player.

I think it boils down to
Branthwaite/Mykolenko/Tarkowski and Diaz vs VVD and Sarabia

Good team. Would second the Hwang > Sarabia move to fund Porro > VvD.

I think that team you're working towards:

      Neto
      Saliba Gabriel VvD
      Salah Saka Sarabia Eze*
      Haaland Darwin Solanke

Is going to be the most popular team in the top 100K.

One of two main options I'm looking at. Foden to Eze is locked in 34.

Alternative is Diaz as the 3rd Liverpool over VVD.

Everton def/RAN + Diaz vs VVD + Sarabia

Fair. I think I'm gonna end up with something similar but I have Havertz over Saliba as my 3rd Arsenal and I'm liking that differential.

            • 6 Years

Havertz easy 3rd Arsenal pick if folks don't have 3 Arsenal (Gabriel and Saka the other 2). Certainly should be a lock on FH34 teams.

Probably not much in it between Everton def/RAN + Diaz vs VVD + Sarabia.

Rice the same as before, I mean. He had performed in PL for years and was an England international. I think his price would still be very very high. Caicedo had just one or two good seasons.

OK. Clarifies what you said. take out this season's performance and I would say even Rice would drop a good 20%. Caicedo was too expensive but recency bias affects my judgement personally

Would you bench boost this in 34 if you have 11 starters?

Jose Sa (ARS, BOU) - Zabarnyi (avl, wol) - Garnacho (SHU) - Maguire (SHU)

Alternatively I can wildcard in 35 to set up a bb 37, not sure if it will be better.

That looks like a good bench boost TBF. Man United vs Sheffield United is a great single fixture (though I wouldn’t be banking on a United clean sheet). If you went that route you have 33 and 34 ‘punts’ to play too. Good luck.

Thanks Dammit. If I am lucky and get no injuries, I could alternatively move Maguire to Ait-Nouri or a Palace defender. But I think he will start the game and its a good game for him, even though I agree Sheffield most likely score.

Thoughts on BB34? Assuming Alisson is not gonna be fit in time to usurp Kelleher...

    Kelleher
    Gabriel Ait-Nouri Branthwaite
    Salah Saka Havertz Sarabia
    Haaland Darwin Solanke
    (Henderson Zabarnyi Palmer Reguilon)

This is with no hits. Could do Palmer > XX for -4 but I think I'd just play him since I don't want to lose the TV on him.

    1. Tonyawesome69
      • 6 Years
      1 year, 8 months ago

Don't mind it but it's a big assumption when Alisson is expected to take part team training this week.

Potentially could get lucky and score more than 16 points (4 * 2 app points * 2 games)

      1. Tonyawesome69
        • 6 Years

16 points is minimum points in a DGW BB imo

I think you're being a bit optimistic if you think that's the floor. I'd be ecstatic with 16 considering how useless defenders and GKs have been this year. and they make up 3/4 positions on a BB.

          1. Tonyawesome69
            • 6 Years
            1 year, 8 months ago

Is it being too optimistic? I'm not sure about that when the bare minimum is 2 app points.

Defenders aren't getting the bare minimum though that's the thing. Injuries/rotation could hit, if they conceded 2 goals they're docked down to 1 point and defenders on a BB will typically be from the mid-table sides that are conceding goals often.

                • 6 Years

I think you're being too pessimistic. If that's the thoughts you have then you may as well get the BB chip out the road then

The reason you BB in the DGW is for the higher floor. I think it's higher in a DGW but it isn't 16.

Just for reference, I have only scored more than 16 points on my bench once this season.

I tend to agree with Camzy here.

They'll be a late injury and one non-starter (who would have autosubbed out) then a red card will render a double game week player just a 65 minute shot.

You've gotta factor in the future here

I personally think there are better BB options for 34. The cheap options from Chelsea, Brighton & United don’t look worth it except Palmer & Garnacho. Won’t be surprised to see SGW players outscore DGW players in GW37.

    Petrovic
    Gabriel Gusto Bradley
    Salah Son Saka Palmer
    Haaland Isak Darwin

    (Onana Garnacho Udogie Branthwaite)
    2 FTs & 0.1m

How to use 2 FTs here to set up for BB37? Will use FH34.

I think I really need to prioritise getting Foden in. He’s going to be a staple for GW35 WCers but not sure if selling Saka this week is the answer to that.

Will we have a clear vision on DGW37 if we want to WC35?

    1. Eze Really?

The closer the WC the better the vision. Who knows until GW37 is upon us.

I think its good to wc 35. You can save your transfer the next round and go into the double with two transfers.

Thoughts on my DGW34 with BB squad?

    Pickford Henderson

    Saliba Ait-Nouri Mitchell Branthwaite Zabarnyi

    Salah Díaz Saka Havertz Sarabia

    Darwin Solanke Mateta

I have Foden + Haaland(c) at (h) to Luton in 33 then swap out.

Do you prefer Eze + Cunha over Sarabia + Mateta?

Or lose Havertz for Gabriel and have Eze + Sarabia?

I think historically I'd prefer Eze + Cunha as assets, but you can't argue over Sarabia + Mateta form wise either.

Thanks, both look good so happy with either. Havertz > Gabriel or Diaz > VVD not worth doing to fit Eze + Sarabia?

What about Sarabia, Mateta + Eze/Olise? If I ditch Havertz for Gabriel or Diaz for VVD.

The main choice is probably Sarabia, Olise or Eze.

Then between Cunha and Mateta or Edouard

... he's still scored 7 despite missing chunks of game time.

Same as Mateta but he's well ahead in assists, which shows he's more of a team player perhaps?

Yeah Cunha/Mateta is a coin toss for me. Really like Sarabia + Eze/Olise but not easy to have two slots for them.

          Yep

          It's 1 of each option

Just setting out that there are probably 3 decent doubling choices for 5th midfielder and 3rd striker.

          So some variation hopefully.

    Will have 1 free transfer
    Am I missing anyone obvious?

    Foden to anyone maybe?

    Pickford**
    VVD** Saliba** Gab** Braithwaite**
    Foden Palmer Saka** Salah**
    Darwin** Haaland

Who reckons Spurs vs Newcastle would be a riot with goals from either side, or will it be a quiet affair like a bunch of FPL virgins at the library!

Newcastle got a clean sheet on the weekend but how much of that was luck or skill I couldn’t say. Im tempted to go add a 3rd attacker (Gordon to join son & isak) that fixture in the hope both teams just go for it. 250k rank so in the mindset of taking on things like this just now.

Newcastle better at home but still not solid defensively.

Likely goals each way but might not be a goal fest.

      2-1 Newcastle?

I feel it'll likely be this as well. Might take Son out for a punt. Which match do you reckon would be a goal fest?

Maybe at Brentford, Man City, Liverpool and at Arsenal in gw33.

          West Ham too? Possibly Brighton.

Supposed to be 10oC warmer by Thursday which might get everyone in the zone!

This is how my team is shaping up for GW34.

    Dub
    Gabriel Branthwaite Ait*
    Salah Saka Havertz Diaz
    Darwin Haaland Solanke

    Areola Palmer Zabarnyi Gusto

    * transfer in if fit

Could do a -4 in GW34 to get a different keeper.

Looks good but if thinking BB then Gusto out might be a better move?

Chelsea have a good run but they can't keep a clean sheet for love nor money.

Avoid their keeper whatever you do.

Do Gomez -> VVD and roll? Will get in probably Salah + Darwin next...

Decent moves. I am leaning to have triple pool attack and double arse attack as something a bit different. Something to think about.

Best 2nd arsenal defender alongside Gabriel? Does Timber coming back effect either more than the other?

    B) Saliba

    Dubravka
    Porro, Gabriel, Saliba
    Saka, Foden, Palmer, Son, Salah
    Haaland (c), Solanke

    Areola, Muniz, Zabarnyi, Taylor

    2ft 0.2itb OR 14k

Really not sure what do do here for next week. I also need to set up for the doubles.

What transfer would you make here?

BB and WC left. GK is an area I'm looking at. I thought about bringing in Henderson, benching him and then using him for Palace double.

Porro is another one I'm looking to move on as he blanks in gw34.

I'm normally going to say no...

But other than gw34, 36 and 38 where so you see an Arsenal clean sheet in the final 7 games?

Then again 3 in 7 with double defence is decent enough.

Maybe an attacking return thrown in?

Plan was to FH34 WC35 but already have some DGWers and 2FTs before GW33. Stick to FH34 or try to navigate without?

No FH34 could mean I have to avoid getting Haaland for GW33, and for DGW34, could miss out on some picks like Pool def, Havertz, Eze/Mateta, United punt.

    Kelleher/Martinez
    Porro/White/Gabriel/Doughty/Taylor
    Salah/Son/Saka/Diaz/Palmer
    Watkins/Toney/Solanke
