    14/15 players qualified.
    Keeping WC for semis.
    3 transfers only.

    Diogo Costa 05/07
    Pickford 06/07

    Cucurella 05/07
    Cancelo 05/07
    John Stones 06/07
    Kyle Walker 06/07
    Van Dijk 06/07

    Gundogan 05/07
    Musiala 05/07
    Nico Williams 05/07
    Bruno Fernandes 05/07
    *Sabitzer*

    Yamal 05/07
    Morata 05/07
    Depay 06/07

    Right now, I'm thinking orange.
    More dutch.

    Gakpo for Morata
Aké for Kyle Walker (or J.Stones)

Just not sure if should go with Bellingham or X.Simmons for Sabitzer.

Any advice would be much appreciated. (First in my private league by 29pts - the prize is free sushi and drinks!)

    Kane - Morata - Gakpo

    Fernandes - Gundogan - Musiala - Vargas - Aebischer

    Cancelo - Dias - Carvajal - Dumfries - Guehi*

    Simons - Verbruggen

5.7 ITB, WC left, red arrow to (still amazing) 4453 OR so I went with differentials (no FRA and brought in the SUI players + Verbruggen), captain on Bruno and then Gakpo. See you in rants, lads!

I’m not sure on Mbappe. He’s done sod all really. Think I’d rather Kane (scored more), Gakpo (scored a lot more), Lamal (more points) or Havertz (scored more).

Man. It's euro now, olympics after, transfers have just begun. Enjoy the rest!

But since PL starts on 17.08. I would expect FPL to be active from around a month before that, 17.07.

    My current squad:

    Gk. Simon (MD1), Verbruggen (MD2)
Df. Carvajal (MD1), Cancelo (MD1), Van Dijk (MD2), Bastoni*, Guehi*
    Mf. Gundogan (MD1), Vitinha (MD1), N. Williams (MD1), Bellingham (MD2), Baumgartner*
    Fw. Mbappe (MD1), Kane (MD2), Gakpo (MD2)

Thinking of making three transfer and leave WC for semis

    Good afternoon mates!
No WC, just two players eliminated, I’m with this team:

    Costa Pickford
    VVD Kounde Walker Cucurella Bastoni*
    Musiala Gundogan Bellingham Bruno Sabitzer*
    Mbappé Depay Morata

Thinking of swapping the eliminated ones and Morata for Akanji, Nico and Gakpo. What do you think?

    Verbruggen Pickford
Cancelo Mendes Guehi Cucurella Le Normand
    KDB Bruno Musiala Gundo Sabitzer
    Kane Mbappe Gakpo

    Planning Pickford/Guehi/KDB/Sabitzer > Maignan/VVD/Simons/Williams?

I'm on LL and am going big on England and the Dutch, with a sprinkling of the best players from the other teams to hedge my bets a little,

I only had 1 England before so if it goes to form and they get knocked out then it's all good, I do fancy them to get through though

minutes, ball recoveries. some good attacking threat as well (even if Ake as abit more), came very close to scoring vs romania.

if a match goes to ET you kinda want your defender to still be on the pitch for ball recoveries, vdv for ake seems like a constant sub koeman does

    2. Ausman

I prefer Ake for his assist potential.
Both players have the same amount of points for minutes played and clean sheets. DeVrij has 2 more points than Ake for ball recoveries, but Ake has 6 points for his two assists while DeVrij has zero.

I have no wildcard and have 2 players from each of Spain, France, Portugal and Germany.

From the other side I’ve got 3 English (Pickford, Walker and Bellingham) and 3 Dutch (VVD, Gakpo and Depay)…

I’m missing one defender and I’m undecided between Ake / De Vrij (going with 4 Dutch) or Akanji (having Swiss cover but it means that even with the best outcome I’ll loose 5 players).

    What would you do?

    A - Ake
    B - De Vrij
    C - Akanji

Excuse my ignorance but why is the narrative in the media that England's biggest problem is they don't have a natural left back?! Trippier has been doing a solid job- no?! Would a fit Luke Shaw turn the whole thing around for England? For me the problems are a lot deeper than that!

    1. F4L
      • 11 Years
      2 years, 1 month ago

need some natural width on the left. foden doesnt want to play there and drifts inside and trippier more often just passes the ball back inside. you cant beat low blocks without attacking both flanks effectively. i dont know who you drop between mainoo/bellingham/foden/kane but gordon should be playing LW and told just to stay high and wide. and at least gordon would run inbehind, foden again just wants to show for the ball.

if shaw was fit and firing the issue of foden lw would be less glaring so i get where they're coming from

Yeah but my whole point is they don't seem up for it or they are under too much pressure to perform due to the very severe scrutiny they are under- a much bigger issue IMO, but the media aren't going to say that they are complicit in this!

        1. F4L
          • 11 Years
          2 years, 1 month ago

oh right yeah for sure agree with that. alot of underperformers in the team at the minute. actually think the slovakia victory, well the way they won, could help with the pressure. lots have england as underdogs now even against switzerland. Could say at least they've achieved the bear minimum now and can now relax and express themselves

talking tactics LB is a problem but the biggest issue imo is the bellingham/kane dynamic, both great players but not made for each other.

Non WC team after using 3 FTs:

Pickford Verbruggen (No GK Day 1)
    Carvajal Cucurella VVD Stones Cancelo
    Musiala Williams Pedri Bruno Simons
    Kane Mbappe Gakpo

    WC Team:

    Pickford Maignan
VVD Pepe Rudiger De Vrij Stones
    Bellingham Musiala Williams Simons Rodri
    Kane Mbappe Gakpo

So basically Non WC vs WC team:

No Day 1 GK, Carvajal, Cucurella, Cancelo, Pedri & Bruno
    vs
Maignan, Rudiger, De Vrij, Pepe, Rodri & Bellingham

Worth using the WC or stick with 3 FTs?

For final you need only 11 players and you get 6 FTs. Only if you go super heavy on 2 teams you wont be able to field 11 players.
