    2 FTs
    Which move is best:

    A) Diaz & Iwobi to Bruno & Gordon
    B) Diaz & Iwobi to Amad & Gordon
    C) Iwobi & Jackson to Gordon & Mateta

    Mids / Fwds are:

    Salah - Palmer - Diaz - Sarr - Iwobi
    Isak - Jackson - Larsen

Take the Iwobi to Gordon out, would you rather?

      a) Jackson + Bruno
      b) Jackson + Amad + cash
      c) Diaz + Mateta

  5. BGW29 is coming...

Bit slow going here, so I thought I'd give my 'run to BGW 29' top 5 players in each position ranked.

    GK's
    1. Alisson - can't ignore DGW24/25
    2. Pickford - see above
    3. Sels - Forest elite defence!
    4. Henderson - fixtures are the best
    5. Pope - Newcastle form team

    DEF's

    1. Konate - cheapest route to DGW
    2. Munoz - fixtures & attacking upside
    3. Hall - last 6 Newcastle excellent form + upside
    4. Williams - route into Forest for only 4.3m
    5. Mykolenko - 4.3 + imminent DGW

    MID's

    1. Salah
    2. Gordon - perhaps controversial over...
    3. Palmer - it's still Palmer despite recent form.
    4. Mbeumo - Forget fixtures, he keeps doing it.
    5. Bruno Fernándes - Fixtures are there, 90 minute man

    FWD's

    1. Isak
    2. Gakpo - DGW plus starts/performance is good.
    3. Wissa - he's lethal, despite the fixtures
    4. Wood - Just keeps doing it! Could be 2 or 3.
    5. Mateta - has the fixtures.

Hope that's useful, probably not but interested in people's opinions.

About Konate, he's on 4 yellow card currently. He is no longer considered as a Suspension Tightrope right? Because I just read an article that states

"It means that everyone still on four bookings is no longer at risk of a suspension, should they now pick up a fifth." from https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2025/01/06/premier-league-yellow-cards-can-players-still-be-banned

If that's the case, then I would be more than happy to bring this lad into my team.

More than likely Newcastle blank in BGW29 along with Palace and either Liverpool + Villa or Spurs + Fulham. I think it will be Liverpool Villa blanking myself (2nd leg Liverpool at home)

    5. mookie
      • 11 Years

      1. Alisson - can't ignore DGW24/25

      1. Salah
      2. Gordon - perhaps controversial over...

      1. Isak
      2. Gakpo - DGW plus starts/performance is good.
      5. Mateta - has the fixtures.

If Newcastle and Liverpool reach the Carabao cup final, all the players above will have a blank in GW29.
In GW29 4 teams will blank, while in GW34 it could be 8 teams blanking. Based on this, playing FH in 34 makes more sense.
Assuming your bench in GW29 will be Salah, Isak and one of Hall, Munoz, Pool def., every other player from the list above is a transfer in and a transfer out, if you want to have 11 players in GW29.
So basically if you buy Gordon, Gakpo, Mateta now, that's 6 from your next 8 FTs gone, because you have to sell them before GW29.

        Correction on the last sentence:
If you use 3 FTs from now on to buy Pool, Newcastle, Villa and Palace players, you'll have to use another 3 FTs to remove them.

^^assuming Pool vs Newcastle is the final.

Fair comment. I was hoping for some other rankings with reasoning such as this.

I'm currently on 3x CPAL plus Isak, Murphy and Salah out of the potential blankers. I plan to sell Murphy in gw25 to a Schade/Semenyo/Kliuvert/Damsgaard leaving me with 10 starters which I think is perfectly reasonable.

Regarding BGW29, I'm expecting the League Cup final to be Newcastle vs Liverpool. I don't believe Arsenal can pull it off at St James Park, nor do I think Spurs can best Liverpool at Anfield and retain their slender advantage.

That in mind, it's worth counting the number of Palace, Newcastle, Villa and Liverpool players you'll still be left with by BGW29. Considering the fact up to 8 teams might blank in BGW34 it might be more prudent to tentatively earmark your free hit for BGW34 and try and navigate BGW29 with 8+ players.

The narrative I've seen is WC30 being a popular option, primarily because it still leaves a window for the majority of remaining chips e.g WC30 AM 31/32/33 FH34 BB36 or WC30 BB33 FH34 AM 36/37/38 or something like that.

Either way it's worth checking your transfers here on in and seeing how everything lines up for you.

For those looking for using the AM chip sooner rather than later but with a risk appetite, how about this:

GW24: AM Pereira, Wolves vs Villa, 4 days after a European fixture plus potential for the +10 points from being -5 places or more behind in the table.

GW25: AM Slot, can't really ignore DGW if it's this week (I'll probably TC Salah myself and leave AM for 36/37/38 most likely, proposed DGW36 doubles don't look massively appealing). Alternative as a punt could be AM Silva, just about 5 places behind Forest are Fulham and on their day can do well.

GW26: AM McKenna vs Spurs at home, Spurs you'd expect to be +5 places above Ipswich at that point and are prone to absolute stinkers on their day!

Either way what you decide to do, having 1.5m ITB plus two extra banked transfers would allow for this kind of strategy to work without impacting the player transfers you'd usually make.

I can't say I've thought about it at all, just knocked that up quickly as a conversation starter. As someone whose not doing particularly well this year, the temptation will be to play it at an earlier opportunity and perhaps save TC for 33/36 in case the universe decides to put up a bonanza DGW opportunity. Was it GW35 last year where Palace, Everton and Arsenal all did really well with huge scores? It's interesting for sure.

I also like the fact the 'on the beach' theory, where teams in 36/37/38 could allow for some unique scenarios. If you know you'll still be engaged by then perhaps that's the option for you, seeing as AM doesn't care about rotation which generally plagues the last few fixtures with players being rested for important cup matches etc.

could be a no frills 0.5m option. Nice suggestion thanks.

I only ask because I've pulled the WC button early and just thinking about permutations for myself. Because of this I've currently got 2m ITB to allow for a bit of flexibility with transfers plus the budget to deploy AM at any stage.

If I decide to go with your suggestion for example I could upgrade my team a little now, Glasner will cost either 1m or potentially 0.5m for sure.

Is that how it works? My understanding was you pick one team and then that’s the your AM team for three consecutive GWs. Didn’t know you can change team during those three game weeks. Interesting. This post should be hulked by the way! Thanks Greg

The initial deployment doesn't cost a transfer and yes, you can use a transfer (or -4!) to shift around the AM in the subsequent 2 GW's.

      Interesting thoughts.

As someone without a TC left, AM for the first double for Liverpool just makes sense to me. Leaving the AM chip for 36-38 is tempting but that also requires that I use my other chips before then and GW36 I think is the best week to BB if I'm not mistaken because it will be the biggest DGW.

But I'm really struggling to build some green arrow momentum. :/

GW23/24 feels like a good time to finally jump off Haaland and use the cash all over the team. Murphy/Foden/Enzo are all likely to be dead as an option in couple of weeks time. Guess we will have better idea about double/blanks by then as well.

Even though I don’t see the need for you to use WC, I’m surprised you’ve got no Isak / Gordon. In my case, I have to get rid of Iwobi before ditching Enzo due to budget.

I'm going for Isak. Form & fixture on his side here. Bournemouth have very impressive defensively & I expect a tight game.

You can always drop one of the attacking player after GW25 is done (presuming its double attack rather than defense)

nope, Henderson Chalobah Munoz to rotate with Sels, Williams Milenkovic. Just checked and a Wolves defender matches the rotation best! They are getting Emmanuel Agbadou soon, if he's 4m I'll have a punt.

They have only won 4 games all season still. And 4th lowest scorers in the league (Leicester have scored more fwiw). Can't see why anyone would triple or even double up

Not ideal to commit to a Liverpool attacker outside of Salah when there's a lot of games to go until potential DGW24/25. I do think he is first choice LW though

Fabian Hurzeler has revealed Joao Pedro twisted his ankle in training yesterday and is now awaiting an MRI. He is a doubt for the Norwich match.

Had him for the last one. MGW got red carded for the foul and Padro didn't come off. Thought it can't be bad and Hurzeler was vague about it. Held him for a month and he was out for about 6 weeks.

At this rate, I'll be left with no FPL team by the next GW. What is this, the Annual Injury Week? We all should pray for Isak now knowing his injury history.

Being a doubt for the FA Cup game against a Championship team, isn't necessarily the same though as being a doubt for the Premier League seven days from now though. We saw last night Slot wouldn't risk TAA or Konate until late on, and I suspect there will be lots of precautionary rotation in the FA Cup by PL teams.

This Jaden Philogene move to Ipswich feels a bit stinky regards FFP for Villa. Activate the buy-back with them being the beneficiary of a sell on clause and now hes eventually gone to Ipswich having nearly gone in the summer, just 4 starts since he went back, largely probably because Bailey and Ramsey got injured. Cynic in me suspects they always intended to buy back just to sell for a 'profit' (on paper).
