Fantasy EFL Double Gameweek 33 (which coincides with the international break, and is thus a Blank Gameweek), sees just 19 matches scheduled across League One and League Two.

However, four League Two teams double this week: Barrow, Carlisle United, MK Dons and Port Vale.

As you can see below, this directly impacts the results of the Double Gameweek 33 captaincy poll.

Thanks to all who voted via our X account.

DOUBLE GAMEWEEK 33 CAPTAINCY POLL: LEADING ASSET

In a landslide victory, Port Vale’s Connor Hall (D) emerged as the clear favourite, achieving a record margin with 83%!

His ownership is now at 3.3%, steadily rising every day, and he is the highest-scoring doubling asset this week. The number five has banked 224 points in 34 games with the Valiants, despite only keeping 13 clean sheets (+75) in that period. With no goals or assists, this is even more impressive. He’s proven to be a defensive contributions magnet, making 43 tackles (+21), 25 blocks and an impressive 283 clearances (+94).

In Double Gameweek 33, Darren Moore’s side face off against 23rd-placed Morecambe (H) and 17th-placed Barrow (H). As explained through the sky-high voting, most managers expect Hall to haul once again. He’s without a blank since Gameweek 7, and at a minimum, one clean sheet and defensive points are expected. We’ll be shocked if he isn’t one of, if not the, highest-scoring doubling defender this Gameweek.

CAPTAINCY POLL: 3% CLUB

The players listed below received 3% of the votes:

Sam Lavelle (D) – Carlisle United

Carlisle’s number five has scored 197 points in 33 appearances for the Cumbrians, despite only keeping eight shutouts in that run. He’s impressed both defensively and offensively, making 53 tackles, 24 blocks and 212 clearances. In front of goal, he has four goals (+28) and one assist (+3) and has eight double-digit hauls to his name. Taking on Bromley and MK Dons at Brunton Park should promote at least clearance points for the 28-year-old. Notably, three of his 10+ scores have come in his previous six matches. With only 1.7% ownership, he could be a top differential captain.

Alex Gilbey (M) – MK Dons

The Dons’ number eight has impressed for the Buckinghamshire outfit in League Two this season, scoring 171 points in 36 matches. He has bagged 10 goals (+60), provided four assists, and made nine interceptions (+18) during that run, and is the focal point in Ben Gladwin’s side. However, his top form has petered out in recent weeks, and he only has one assist in his previous eight games – blanking in the rest. He faces 13th-placed Cheltenham Town (A) and 24th-placed Carlisle United (A) in Gameweek 33, which on paper, given the strength of the side, should see two victories. However, given their dismal form – just one win in five – coupled with Gilbey’s lack of hauls recently, we’re less keen on captaincy.

Robbie Gotts (M) – Barrow

Gotts’ unexpected appearance on the captaincy radar stems from his impressive 146 points in 33 appearances, making him Barrow’s leading midfielder. With three goals, four assists, and 27 interceptions, he’s proven his all-round contribution. His recent goal against Morecambe, coupled with four 10+ point returns, makes him a viable option. However, the Bluebirds face tough away trips to AFC Wimbledon and Port Vale. These fixtures could either yield a massive points haul for Gotts or result in a disappointing return. While his consistent performance is commendable, his recent returns have lacked the explosive potential often sought in a captain.

Alassana Jatta (F) – Notts County

The Magpies’ number 29 has enjoyed a productive season, racking up 17 goals (+75) and 5 assists in 32 appearances, totalling 178 points. He’s found the net twice in his last five outings and is set to play Crewe Alexandra at Meadow Lane. The Railwaymen, currently eighth, defeated County 2-0 in the reverse fixture, but are struggling for form: they are three games without a win and have no away victories since Gameweek 24. A significant portion of his output – nine goals and two assists – has come at home, making him an appealing choice. However, the fact that this is a single Gameweek makes it a riskier selection.

Alistair Smith (M) – AFC Wimbledon

The biggest surprise in the poll saw the Dons’ number 12 secure votes for the first time this campaign! However, we’re sensing this is due to recency bias. He’s registered four goals, five assists, and 28 interceptions in 36 games. However, in his last three, he has three goal contributions and four interceptions, totalling 30 points. Last time out, he hauled for 14 points in a 1-2 away victory at Carlisle United. Wimbledon welcome Barrow to The Cherry Red Records Stadium, who they defeated 1-3 in the away fixture. He also only has 0.2% ownership, which makes him a top differential. Going off recent form, we love the differential shout. However, the concern remains about a single Gameweek asset wearing the armband.
