Fantasy EFL Double Gameweek 36 is already underway, but we’ve still got 34 more matches to look forward to, including a couple of Friday night thrillers at Turf Moor and Meadow Lane.

Let’s take a look at the latest captaincy poll results. It helps provide an insight into who the community feels is the best armband candidate. Thanks to all who voted via our X account.

FANTASY EFL DOUBLE GAMEWEEK 36: CAPTAINCY POLL

% of votes in the poll
Luke Molyneux (M)55%
Kelly N’Mai (M)17%
Three players7%
Taylor Allen4%

LUKE MOLYNEUX

With just one blank in his last 11, Luke Molyneux (M) is the clear leader of the captaincy race. He has been backed with the armband by a considerable 55% of Fantasy EFL managers in our poll, and it is certainly hard to argue against this.

The Donny winger has been scintillating throughout the campaign, with an incredible 13 goals (+78) and 12 assists (+24) in 38 appearances. He’s shown recently he’s back to his best, and is evidently the standout doubling asset. With ownership at over 16%, this could continue to soar before Donny face AFC Wimbledon (H), followed by Salford City (A).

KELLY N’MAI

Next up in the standings is Salford City’s Kelly N’Mai (M). The number 10 has been excellent this season and has certainly made a case for being backed with the armband based on recent performances.

He’s racked up an impressive seven goals (+35), four assists (+12) and 19 interceptions (+38) in 26 games for the Ammies. The 21-year-old was heavily involved in his last Double Gameweek, picking up points through a goal (+6) and further interceptions, and he followed this with another healthy return of nine points in Gameweek 35.

With just 0.5% ownership, he’s a massive differential pick, and an even wilder captaincy shout, which is why we love it.

THE 7% CLUB

Three players find themselves part of the 7% club: Doncaster’s Tom Anderson (D), Jamie Sterry (D), and Robert Street (F)

Anderson has bagged 108 points in 23 matches for Donny, helping them keep five shutouts (+25) during that period. He’s made 27 tackles, 128 clearances, and 11 blocks. Most impressively, he’s scored 25 points in his last three, and has one goal to his name (+7). However, this came in Gameweek 7.

Elsewhere, Sterry has featured in 35 of their games – the most of any of their defenders. The number two has one goal and six assists, including scoring last time out, registering 16 points. Near-nailed for minutes, Sterry provides attacking upside but a lower defensive points ceiling.

Equally, Street has looked sharp since joining on loan in January, scoring seven goals (+35)  in 17 for Donny, including last time out. However, he’s started just 10 of 16 matches, and was benched in 35 for Billy Sharp (F). With 0.2% ownership, he’s a top differential. However, the rotation risk is a huge concern, as Sharp looks to regain his spot.

TAYLOR ALLEN

The final player with significant backing, securing 4%, was Walsall’s Taylor Allen (M). The number 21 has certainly impressed in Fantasy EFL, managing to secure a total of 251 points, with an average of 6.3 per game.

This midfield maestro bagged a sweet 20 points in Double Gameweek 34, and then chucked in another 11 in Gameweek 35. He has 10 goals, nine assists, and 35 interceptions to his name. He’s regularly featured in defence, and has scored free-kicks and penalties for his side throughout the season.

The Sadlers travel to Barrow in 36, with the hope being that they can return to winning ways, after failing to do so since Gameweek 29. With 31 points in his last three, he’s a good differential captaincy shout.
