Meet the FPL Community in Person

FPL Family's Sam: Bench Boost in Gameweek 1, Free Hit in Gameweek 2? 1

Fantasy Football Fest is the world’s largest gathering of FPL enthusiasts – the perfect setting to connect with like-minded managers and talk Fantasy face-to-face. Whether you’re flying solo or coming with your whole mini-league, expect a warm, welcoming atmosphere where you can chat transfers, strategies, and all things FPL.

You’ll also have the chance to meet some of the most recognisable names in the community. Sam Bonfield, General Manager of Fantasy Football Scout and co-founder of FPL Family, will be attending with her husband, Lee Bonfield. Other past guests have included Scout regulars like Mark SuthernsAz Phillips, and FPL Harry – so keep your eyes open and your team questions ready.

Live Q&A and Podcast Launch

A major highlight of Fest 2025 is the live Q&A and podcast launch with ex-Premier League stars Jermaine Jenas and Jermaine Pennant. The duo will be unveiling their brand-new show, “Wildcards,” and taking audience questions in a relaxed, open-air setting.

Whether you’re after insider football stories or tactical insights, this is your chance to hear from two top-level pros – up close and personal.

Guiding the action on stage will be Julien Laurens, a familiar face to fans of European football coverage. His experience as a journalist and broadcaster brings an extra layer of polish to what promises to be a packed and energetic schedule.

Expert Panels, FPL Games & Entertainment

In addition to the headline podcast segment, Fest will feature FPL pundit panels, quickfire Q&As, and games that offer plenty of chances to test your knowledge, win prizes, and get involved. The panels are led by some of the most trusted voices in the game, sharing last-minute tips and answering questions before the season kicks off.

Plus, there’ll be fun competitions and side activities to keep things lively – so whether you’re a casual player or an FPL veteran, there’s something for you.

Deadline Countdown & Live Match Screening

FPL notes: Why Palmer was benched + Slot on Salah’s form

What better way to experience the first Gameweek of the season than surrounded by hundreds of other FPL managers?

As the 6:30 PM deadline approaches, you’ll feel the buzz as everyone makes those final transfers and captaincy calls. And once your team’s locked in, you can sit back and enjoy the opening match: Liverpool vs Bournemouth, live at 8:00 PM on big screens around the venue.

This shared experience brings a level of excitement you just don’t get from setting your team at home – especially when the goals start flying in and the captaincy points start rolling.

Food, Drink & Festival Atmosphere

Set in the vibrant Vauxhall Beer & Food Garden, this year’s Fest offers great food and drink options all day long. From craft beers and cocktails to street food favourites, you’ll be well fuelled for the FPL action and socialising.

The beer garden’s open layout and buzzing crowd give Fest a proper summer party feel. Expect football shirts, laughter, and nonstop fantasy football chat from start to finish.

Being a welshman myself, this is my pref currently
But on a more factual and less emotional basis, I think he has very little competition on that side of the pitch whereas malen has a bit more.

      Malen & Semenyo

If Semenyo can mirror last year's numbers he's one of the mids who manages DC on top of attaching threat.

If you got DC points for hitting row Z. Semenyo would be a 250 pt player.

I’ve always found it odd to care about a player’s IRL quality. Whether it’s 100 shots for 10 goals or 50 shots for 10 goals, the result’s the same to us.

True. First time he's found himself in there. He was cheaper last season, and despite the team's success, he wasn't the best of picks.

I'm toying around with some differentials after I decide on the structure of the premiums (Palmer, Haaland, Gyokeres in that one). B. Johnson, Gordon, Marmoush, Elanga are some of the others I'm keeping an eye on, but for now it's key to set the right budget structure so it's easy to shift between options.

      Trafford - Moore
White, Aina, De Cruyper -Rodon, Esteve
      Salah, Fernandes, Gordon, Rice, Malen
      Haaland, Welbeck -Guiu

You can't have 'em all, and the ones i want the most are Salah and Haaland. If a player at a difficult price point emerges i'm happy to wildcard around gw4/5 having hopefully rolled a few transfers. Let's see.

Doesn't change what I said though. Only the three relegated sides scored fewer goals than them last year, so spaffing £35m (their third biggest outlay ever) on a teenager who doesn't massively improve the first XI doesn't make much sense to me. Feel like Dibling is still another season in the Championship away from really showing his quality.

Here is a sage piece of advice to those new to FPL. If you triple up on Burnley, and then bring in Dubravka, you’ll have four - yes four - Burnley players to kick off the season! And you can keep them for as long as you want. Can’t trade but.

    You’re welcome! Enjoy the season.

Depends on United's progress but Arsenal will want to win there. From what I saw from Everton's equaliser yesterday, they are still prone to tragicomedy.

What's likely is United scraps a result, and then completely disappoints in their following matches.

I really cannot understand how you (and others) are coming to that conclusion about Bruno.

He's playing DM, hardly got any goal contributions under Amorim last season (even when played as part of the front 3), the defensive points thing is capped at 2 PPG, and our opening fixtures are as bad as it gets.

            • 9 Years

He always does well. He’s not playing as a ‘defensive midfielder’. He scored against Chelsea Arsenal City last season and got an assist v Pool so the fixtures hardly matter. Got a feeling he’ll get quite a few more pens and assists this season with better players around him.

He's not playing 'defensively' no, but he's further away from goal and will be having to drop deeper to get involved with the build up - similar to Odegaard's role at Arsenal where he's expected to do everything.

Those goals came from pens and a free kick that should have been saved.

Very good imo, but get Konsa out of there. Never bonus, no CBT threat, no attacking threat. Surely there are better 4.5 DEFs available.

Konsa was incredible for me for the last 10 game weeks of last season, Villa are decent too, if he carries on that form he’ll be insane value!

Someone needs to make a comment about Pennant having an extra chip... the one in his ankle tag.

Re: reports linking Dubravka with Burnley.

It may be worth noting, Burnley have already signed a new GK this summer in Max Weiss (4.5m in FPL) from German second tier side Karlsruhe.

How many answers do you need exactly? You've been asking in multiple articles and received plenty of comments.

Do the DC points aggregate? E.g if a player got 20/24 DC would they get 4 points extra?

Defender needs 10 DCs to get an extra 2 points, does that become 4 if they get 20 DCs

    Keller

    VDV, AWB, Konsa

Sarah, Palmer, Bruno F, Bruno G, Rice

    Watkins, Bowen

All nailed on starters and I'm thinking good all rounders like Rice and the two Brunos will pick up a decent amount of DC points. Am I way off?

I'm currently on Fernandes and Rice too. Feels like a bit if a punt but think Rice'll be more attacking this season with the new DM they've signed, he's said he wants to be more box-to-box too, takes corners and free kicks and has the potential for defcons too.

Same with Fernandes but potentially less attacking threat than we've seen previously but still on penalties and free kicks as far as i know.

The thing with Fernandes is that he's £9.0 and plays for Man Utd. Think there's better uses for that kind of money.

    Afternoon all,
Onto draft 274 and any feedback much appreciated. Looking to BB week 1 and toying with triple cpt on Haaland away at wolves, thoughts?

    Verbruggen
    Colwill, VVD, Gvardiol, Wan Bissaka
    Wirtz, Palmer, Anderson
    Haaland, Bowen, Joao Pedro

    Kelleher, Le Fee, Rice, Rodon

How does this look? Bench isn't the strongest of course but enables some great starting 11 players and look to rotate well.

    Sanchez
    VVD - Konsa - Guehi
    Salah - Wirtz - Palmer - Rogers - Reijnders
    Wood - Gyokeres

    Perri - Rodon - Diouf - Guiu

    Best combo?

    A) Watkins
    B) Ekitike
    C) Gyokeres

    Plus

    1) Wood
    2) Pedro
    3) Bowen
    4) Solanke
    5) Mateta

A1 or 5. Not entirely sold on Bowen, although it's tempting to jump aboard after G+A v. a weak Bournemouth side.

Yeah Arsenal have some tricky fixtures in the first few game weeks. I’m holding off gyokeres to begin with, see how he settles in (even though I might miss out on a reasonable price)

I’ve gone Haaland, Bowen & Joao Pedro up front for GW1
