FANTASY EFL GAMEWEEK 2: CHAMPIONSHIP
Sheffield United 1 Bristol City 4
Well, this certainly wasn’t the result many were expecting! Welcome to the wonderful world of EFL and Fantasy EFL.
Scott Twine (M), star of the show with a 22-point haul for less than 2% of managers, opened the scoring with a wonderful free-kick. The magic was a sign of things to come.
Although Tyreese Campbell (F) levelled the scoring for the Blades, and they did have various opportunities, it was game over by the 50th minute.
Gerhard Struber’s counter-attacking strategy proved to be a resounding success, particularly evident in the second goal scored by defender Ross McCrorie (D). Striking goals from forward Anis Mehmeti (F) and a brace from Twine put the team up 4-1 by the 51st minute. The victory secured all three points, which were returned to the South West of England.
Mehmeti banked 16 points, while McCrorie wasn’t far behind with 14.
Unfortunately, the three most popular picks- Gustavo Hamer (M), Harrison Burrows (D), and Michael Cooper (G) – combined for a disappointing five points, all from Hamer. Most notably, the 4.5% who picked the Blades were left empty-handed.
Southampton 2 Wrexham 1

Late drama in the Championship strikes again.
The opening minutes saw both sides looking sharp. However, fortune favoured Wrexham when they earned a penalty. Josh Windass (F) stepped up to take the shot, calmly slotting it home. The goalscorer had a strong performance, ending the day with 11 points.
The Saints looked defeated until the 88th minute when centre-back Liam Manning (D) scored a stunning free-kick (+7). The dramatic comeback was sealed in the 95th minute by Jack Stephens (D), whose winning goal brought his total points to 10.
Shea Charles (M), a standout for Sheffield Wednesday last season, also had a notable performance. He finished with 10 points after a strong showing that included an assist (+3), an interception (+2), and multiple key passes (+1).
Leicester City 2 Sheffield Wednesday 1
What a dramatic match! Despite the off-field protests and delayed entry of fans, Sheffield Wednesday gave a surprisingly strong performance against the Foxes.
The Owls’ Nathaniel Chalobah (M) scored first, earning him nine points before a long-term injury tragically cut his game short.
Leicester’s Jannik Vestergaard (D) then equalised, bringing his point tally to 11. Although Leicester dominated with 75% possession and 27 shots, the game shifted when Wednesday’s Barry Bannan (M) was sent off in the 76th minute. This led to Leicester’s Wout Faes (D) scoring the winning goal from a corner.
The real standout of the match was Bilal El Khannouss (M), who scored 17 points, providing assists for both goals and further returns.
Special mentions
Middlesbrough’s Dael Fry (D) scored the winning goal in their 1-0 victory over Swansea, earning 15 points.
West Bromwich Albion’s Isaac Price (M) was instrumental in their 1-0 win against Blackburn Rovers. He not only scored the winning goal, but also contributed at both ends of the pitch with points.
Sorba Thomas (M) also had an impressive game for Stoke City in their 3-1 win over Derby County, contributing to two goals and earning other returns.
FANTASY EFL GAMEWEEK 2: LEAGUE ONE
Reading 0 Huddersfield Town 2

Lee Grant’s team in Yorkshire are thriving after a 2-0 away win over promotion rivals Reading. The game was evenly matched until the end, with both sides having chances and both keepers, Joel Pereira (G) and Owen Goodman (G), making key saves.
Jack Whatmough (D) broke the deadlock in the 74th minute from a goalmouth scramble following a set-piece, earning 16 points. Substitute Cameron Aisha (M) doubled the lead with a powerful strike from inside the box in added time.
Additionally, Goodman secured his second straight shutout. However, Alfie May (F) was a letdown, scoring only three points.
Huddersfield are also the leading club pick with 20 points on Fantasy EFL, returning 11 this week for 10%.
Mansfield Town 1 Doncaster Rovers 2
Without checking the result, guess who was heavily involved again? You guessed it, Luke Molyneux (M) helped his side to back-to-back wins in League One.
Despite going 1-0 down as Stephen McLaughlin (D) scored a thunderous goal from the bench to earn him nine points, it was the visitors who saw their 60% possession count.
Molyneux provided both assists, scoring nine points, while Owen Bailey (M), backed by less than 1%, scored two goals and had other returns to finish with 20 points. His winner came in the 96th minute, and was the second-highest Gameweek scorer.
Donny, the newly promoted champions from League Two, have had a fantastic start to their season.
Barnsley 3 Burton Albion 2

Saturday’s match at Oakwell was a tale of two halves.
The visitors went up 2-0, thanks to a penalty from Jake Beesley (F) and a goal from Fabio Tavares (F), who capitalised on a defensive error. Davis Keillor-Dunn (M) nearly scored for the home side right before half-time, but Jordan Amissah (G) made a spectacular save to preserve the lead.
The second half belonged to Conor Hourihane’s side. The team rallied with goals from Caylan Vickers (F), ‘DKD’, and a 93rd-minute winner from David McGoldrick (F), his first goal for the club.
The win, their second consecutive in League One, was the result of a dominant performance, with the team enjoying 68% possession and taking a total of 13 shots. ‘DKD’ and Adam Phillips (M) were standout players, each scoring 12 points, while Luca Connell (M) contributed 11.
Peterborough United 0 Luton Town 2
Matt Bloomfield’s perfect start to life in League One with the Hatters continues.
In the 59th minute, the Hatters’ Mads Andersen (D) scored the first goal with a header from a set-piece delivered by George Saville (M). Jordan Clark (M) doubled the lead in the 85th minute, capitalising on a defensive error by Nicholas Bilokapic (G) to score into an empty net. The Hatters’ defence was solid throughout the game.
Andersen earned 14 points for his goal, falling one point short of a 15-point haul due to a yellow card (-1). Both Clark and Saville also achieved double-digit points for their performances.
Although the Hatters only managed three shots on target out of eight, it’s a good start for the promotion hopefuls in League One, despite a lack of cutting edge up front.
Exeter City 4 Blackpool 1
It was a tough day on the road for the Seasiders as they suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of the Grecians.
Captain Reece Cole (M) opened the scoring just four minutes in with a clever finish, firing the ball into the bottom corner even as he fell off balance. He ended with 15 points.
Things went from bad to worse for the Seasiders when Jack Fitzwater (D) scored in the 15th minute. The defender’s shot was acrobatically palmed into his own net by Bailey Peacock-Farrell (G). The 27-year-old returned 15 points, alongside his two goal contributions, he made 13 clearances (+3).
Ashley Fletcher (F) pulled one back for the visitors, but it wasn’t enough to spark a comeback.
Jayden Wareham (F) and Sonny Cox (F) rounded out the scoring for the Grecians to secure the win.
Despite the loss, Fletcher and Evans were bright spots, finishing with nine and eight points, respectively.
Special mention: Nathan Asiimwe (D)
The Charlton loanee showcased his skill inside the box from a corner, masterfully turning with the ball to leave the defenders for dust, before firing it into the back of the net. This crucial goal, combined with his solid defensive performance, helped the Dons secure a 2-0 victory over Lincoln City.
The wing-back’s impressive display earned him a massive 18 points, a huge return for the 0.5% of Fantasy players who selected him.
FANTASY EFL GAMEWEEK 2: LEAGUE TWO
Tranmere Rovers 4 Shrewsbury Town 0
Rovers continued their strong start under Andy Crosby by putting four goals past recently-relegated Salop at Prenton Park.
Omari Patrick (F) starred, contributing a goal and an assist to his team’s effort. Luke McGee (G) also had an outstanding performance, earning his first clean sheet of the season with three crucial saves.
For Salop, it was a day to forget. Four of their players scored just three points each.
Their hopes of a comeback were dashed early in the second half when defender Will Boyle (D) was shown a second yellow card for an elbow on Rovers’ second goalscorer, Josh Davinson.
Harrogate Town 3 Grimsby Town 3
In a game that truly lived up to the name “goal fest,” fans at The Exercise Stadium were treated to an incredible display of scoring, with six goals apiece from just seven shots on target. I
The hosts looked to be in control after taking a 3-1 lead in the second half, with goals from Reece Smith (M), Ellis Taylor (M), and Conor McAleny (F). But the Mariners refused to give up.
A long-range drive from Harvey Rodgers (D) brought them back into the game, and a dramatic 93rd-minute equaliser from Jaze Kabia (M) levelled the score at 3-3. Kabia, who was playing out of position as a striker, proved to be the hero, scoring his second goal of the match.
Taylor scored 15 points in the game, including his goal and multiple interceptions, while Smith contributed 11.
Crewe Alexandra 2 Accrington Stanley 0

The Railwaymen delivered a commanding performance to secure back-to-back victories. They dominated the game with 56% possession and had more shots on target.
The win was highlighted by two spectacular long-range goals, which capped off an impressive display of “liquid football.”
Reece Hutchinson (D) and Calum Agius (F) both scored strikes from some distances, returning 15 and nine points respectively for their efforts. Josh March (F) has kept up his strong pre-season form and provided assists to both goals, his third in two games.
Meanwhile, Mickey Demetriou (D), FEFL favourite, returned 11 points for 11%, making 16 clearances alongside helping with the shutout.
Barrow 0 MK Dons 2
The Dons got their long-awaited first win of the season at SO Legal Stadium under Paul Warne, scoring two second-half goals.
Alex Gilbey (M), a familiar name to many, broke the deadlock in the 73rd minute. Shortly after new signing Callum Patterson (F) assisted the first goal, he then scored one himself to double the lead.
It’s their second consecutive shutout, returning 11 points for 12%.
