Ismaila Sarr (£6.5m) and Callum Hudson-Odoi (£6.0m) were both on the scoresheet on Sunday, as Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest drew 1-1 at Selhurst Park.

Here’s what we spotted from a Fantasy Premier League (FPL) perspective.

SARR LOOKING GOOD FOR GAMEWEEK 3

With no Eberechi Eze (£7.5m), Ismaila Sarr took the spotlight for Crystal Palace on Sunday.

The mid-price midfielder met Daniel Munoz’s (£5.5m) first-half cross, striking it home on the half volley.

He also came close to winning a penalty in the final moments.

“Ismaila had a fantastic season for us and the way he is playing helps us a lot. His directness and runs are his strengths.” – Oliver Glasner on Ismaila Sarr

Looking ahead to Gameweek 3, Sarr will have a chance to extend his scoring streak against Aston Villa, a team he has historically performed very well against:

Back-to-back clashes against Sunderland and West Ham United follow, so expect interest in Sarr to quickly ramp up this week.

£4.5M DEVENNY STARTS

£4.5m midfielder Justin Devenny took on Eze’s role at Selhurst Park, partnering with Sarr as one of Oliver Glasner’s two No 10s.

It was a tough afternoon for the youngster, however, as he struggled to create any chances for his teammates.

Devenny’s replacement on 65 minutes, Romaine Esse (£5.0m), arguably fared better with some tidy footwork, but both players will hope to see further opportunities come their way in light of Eze’s exit.

The match at Selhurst Park saw few clear-cut opportunities, bar the goals.

It was Palace’s fourth match in two weeks, so it is perhaps not surprising that they appeared somewhat fatigued after the break, particularly Jean-Philippe Mateta (£7.5m), who had a shot well saved by Matz Sels (£5.0m) in the first period.

“It looked like the legs were getting a little bit fatigued. We have many players who played every single minute. But it’s the situation now, and the players are dealing well with it and being unbeaten. I also think the draw is a fair result.” – Oliver Glasner

The impact of the Thursday-Sunday fixture turnaround for both teams is certainly worth monitoring in the coming weeks and months.

The difference for Palace, however, is that they have a squad with very little depth, at least for now.

Compare that with Forest, who had as many as four new arrivals on the bench on Sunday: Douglas Luiz (£5.0m), James McAtee (£5.5m), Omari Hutchinson (£5.5m) and Arnaud Kalimuendo (£6.0m).

Defensively, Maxence Lacroix (£5.0m) performed well in the centre of the back three and picked up defensive contribution (DefCon) points for the second successive week.

NDOYE IMPACT

With tensions brewing between manager and owner, this was a positive point for Forest.

The Tricky Trees certainly looked more like themselves after the break, which coincided with a tactical switch from Nuno Espirito Santo.

After a below-par first half, wingers Hudson-Odoi and Dan Ndoye (£6.0m) switched flanks and combined for the equaliser shortly after.

Ndoye’s incisive pass was superb, and he’s now produced a goal and an assist in his first two matches to total 16 points.

“We just changed the wingers. We felt it was the most to create an element of surprise to Palace because they were adjusting really well. Change of characteristics and it worked out. We are pleased.” – Nuno Espirito Santo

We didn’t see much of either number nine, but Chris Wood (£7.6m) did steer a shot wide of the post in the early stages.

His replacement on 87 minutes, Igor Jesus (£5.9m), hit the woodwork late on.

Elsewhere, Elliot Anderson (£5.5m) put in a shift, but for the second week running, was just one clearance, block, interception, recovery or tackle away from qualifying for the DefCon bonus.

As for Forest’s backline, patience is understandably wearing thin, having failed to keep a clean sheet against Brentford or Palace.

Forest do face West Ham, Burnley and Sunderland in the next four Gameweeks, however, so there are further opportunities to deliver before the fixtures toughen up in Gameweek 7:

      Looks good.

I now have Reijnders so he will become a trap. I don't have Semenyo so he will haul.

Just curious what makes you want Gyokores right now with them potential injuries to key players and tougher fixtures coming up ?

If he doesn’t get that pen at the very end he doesn’t look as good a pick

yea I guess I am in a panic mode with the prices all increasing. I guess I should just roll over my transfer again (total 3 FT) and then fix my squad after the international break

Yeah I get it. I’m very much feeling the need to FH or WC. Trying to calm down. I have Ekitike and Wirtz still to go. I think if Wirtz flops Imma feel the need to do something to my squad coz it’s been a miserable start

Would you change anything here- decent enough fixtures but a few of these haven't done much/anything yet!
May give it another week and then overhaul.

    Sanchez.
    Porro, VVD, Williams.
    Reijnders, Anderson, Salah, Bruno, Palmer.
    Watkins, Pedro
    Dubravka, Guiu, Andersen, Esteve.

      Thoughts on these moves for a - 4 ???

Fullkrug, Palmer & RAN > Gyokeres, Grealish & Cucu

Grealish is only for the next 2GW's

      Thoughts welcomed.

I wouldn’t be bringing in an Arsenal attacker with those fixtures. It would save you the hit, but I understand not wanting a WH attacker either

Palmer + Fullkrug to 6-6.5m mid + Wood.

On Gudmunsson be aware Leeds are apparently looking to bring in a fullback ideally someone versatile that can cover both sides. James Justin is linked. If true this makes Gud slightly riskier than now where Byram is the backup.

I think Grealish or KDH are better options, but having any 1 of the 3 isnt a bad thing. EVE clearly not going to light the league up in attack but they will still get some attack.

I didn't mean to say attack twice, but here we are. I meant to say they will still get some goals and someone has to deliver them - which one would be a pure guess at the moment but I like KDH xMins at 5.0

            B.Johnson Or Kudus?

It seems Kudus doesn’t have much goal threat. More assists… 7.0 & 6.6 respectively.

Havnt really thought about Grealish yet, probably Gordon out of those, slightly more talismanic and slightly better fixtures.
I have Gordon and Semenyo already haha, looking at Sarr or Johnson for Saka.

Having my worst start ever with this team. Not sure what to do with it as most decisons so far (in mid and fwd areas) have gone very wrong. 2fts 0.0itb. Currently considering bowen and palmer out to bruno and wood but feels v reactive so not 100%. Any thoughts appreciated.

            GK- Sels, Dubravka
DEF- Porro, munoz, milenkovic, esteve, gudmunson
MID- Salah, wirtz, KDH, palmer, potts

Salah and wat to haaland and Bruno is what I would do
However most attackers coul do with change.KDH will iely be a cm going forward, whilst palmer may of course be injured.

Thanks for the comments, its been a weird start where ive started badly (not that unusual) but no real standouts to replace anyone doing badly, normally when i'm not sure I do nothing but think there's a lot to sort. Def and Gk are ok, think i'll get some forest pts over next few weeks. The rest is a shambles the way this season started.

                weak attack

Bowen to Wood sounds good. Palmer to Bruno seems a panic move unless you are planning to WC next week, they have got City and Chelsea after this.

Well I’m intending on doing Bowen to Wood. Palmer hasn’t scored an open play goal since Jan and probably won’t play again til after the international break.
I have Bruno but not sure I’d go for him now considering MUN face Cuty & Chelsea after the break and can’t score.

Fair point. Think palmer will go for me soon, injured or not, in purely for fixtures and ownership if I am honest and wussed out of salah/haaland draft initially. Ill be paying for that for a while i think.

Am I right in saying those of us who have the likes of Watkins & Rogers probably have to stick it out considering the good run of fixtures?

Theoretically, yes. They've got the fixtures to play themselves out of bad form.

You might get left behind if you hold them for too long, though.

When do you presume the best time to jump off is? Now?
Coz if I hold for Palace and they blank again they then have Sunderland & Bur in the next 4.
I think I either jump off now before Palce at home or hold for another month lol

I'd lean towards jumping off one of them (if you have both) and picking an in-form alternative.

As you've outlined, the fixtures are good, probably the best but Villa look really poor.

                  Form over fixtures.

They looked pedestrian on Saturday, co creativity no urgency - worst display bar West Ham.

As someone who owns both - I will likely hold one and let one go. Whichever one I sell will go on a run, so I will let you know and you can hold the opposite one to me!

No love for Ekitike? He's looked well up for it the last two matches (inc the charity shield), and took his goals well.

Currently thinking him and Gakpo are the best two to have from Liverpool but lets see how this evening goes.

Hoping to roll for one more gameweek and potentially wildcard into gw4.

Should be a strong position having a fresh team that you feel more confident about and 3 free transfers banked.
