The Fantasy EFL Gameweek 5 deadline is on Friday and, to help fine-tune your squads, we have a team reveal courtesy of our very own Louis (aka FPL Reactions). He finished inside last season’s top 200.
FANTASY EFL GAMEWEEK 5 TEAM REVEAL: THE STARTING SEVEN

Goalkeeper
After keeping consecutive clean sheets in their previous three league matches, Cardiff have become one of the most investable defences heading into the new round. This week, the Welsh side plays at home, giving Nathan Trott (G) even more potential than usual.
Defence
Don’t fix something that isn’t broken, a phrase that applies to the seemingly relentless Jack Sanders (D) of MK Dons. Sanders continues to leak points via multiple routes and plays at home this week.
He is joined by Salford’s Adebola Oluwo (D). Oluwo has a brilliant opportunity ahead against a poor Cheltenham Town at home. He goes into the fixture after scoring two goals already this season.
Chesterfield should sweep aside an out-of-sorts Crawley Town this week, along with the potential to keep a clean sheet. Chey Dunkley (D) continues to dominate among his defensive teammates, so he makes the cut.
Midfield
Hull have been absolutely woeful defensively this season, which makes them a prime team to target ahead of the new round. As Bristol City are also in good scoring form, it could be a match made in heaven for the in-form Scott Twine (M).
Cardiff feel like a different beast at home than they do away. The Welsh side meets Plymouth, who have thus far failed to adapt to the division. I’d expect goals from Cardiff this week and I would be surprised if Rubin Colwill (M) wasn’t among them.
Forward
Several forwards could perform well this week, but there aren’t many who feel like a shoo-in. One player who has repaid the faith every time I select him is Josh March (F).
Crewe play at home against a leaky Swindon. Leading the attack, Josh March should have plenty of opportunities to bag another return.
Club Picks
I’m fairly hot on Ipswich Town this week, and I could still bring in the likes of defender Leif Davis and midfielder Sam Szmodics. They have a home match against Derby and have heaps of quality at their disposal. This is a great opportunity to finally see them click after a poor start to the season.
Crawley have been extremely poor and I expect them to lose again this week. The week when I back against Crawley could be the week they win, but I do think Chesterfield have got enough in their locker to put the game to bed.
Vice-captaincy trick
I’ll be playing the vice captaincy trick this week with Oluwo, with Salford playing on Friday night. If he does well, I’ll keep the captaincy on my goalkeeper, transfer him to a goalkeeper who won’t play, and get my vice points doubled.
If Oluwo fails to deliver, then I’ll probably look to the likes of Dunkley or Sanders.
