The Fantasy EFL Gameweek 6 deadline is on Friday, and to help fine-tune your squads, we have a team reveal courtesy of our very own Louis (aka FPL Reactions). He finished inside last season’s top 200.
Gameweek 6 is a Blank Gameweek for many players and clubs, as there are no Championship fixtures and eight League One matches going ahead. This is due to the international break and gives us a limited range of Fantasy EFL players to select.
FANTASY EFL GAMEWEEK 6 TEAM REVEAL: THE STARTING SEVEN

Goalkeeper
Oldham have failed to score in two of their previous three league matches, which makes the Cambridge United defence appealing this week. I’m not keen on their defenders, which is why I have opted for Jake Eastwood between the sticks.
Defenders
In defence it was difficult to resist the highest scoring defender in the game, Jack Sanders. The MK Dons centre-back has produced an impressive four double-digit hauls in his first six matches, and a home match against Grimsby could help him add to that excellent start to the campaign. Goals, assists, clean sheets, defensive contributions – Sanders offers multiple routes to points in any given game.
Four clean sheets from a possible six matches is evidence that Huddersfield are in fine defensive form. Coming up against a Peterborough side whom have lost seven of their eight matches in all competitions this season, it feels essential to select a Huddersfield defender this week. With that in mind, I’m going with standout option Joe Low, who I think will be very popular this week. To further benefit from his potential points, I have also decided to hand him the armband.
Completing the backline is Adebola Oluwo of Salford City. The League Two side aren’t completely convincing, but with a home match against Tranmere this week, I can see potential. As with most assets I pick, Oluwo has very good defensive contribution potential in most games. However, what gives him an edge over other assets is his goal threat, having managed two already since the end of last season.
Midfielders
Bolton are one of the bookies’ favourites to win this week. That may come as no surprise when considering they have both home advantage, and a fixture against an AFC Wimbledon side whom have shipped 10 goals in their previous three outings. To target the opposition’s ropey backline, I have gone for Amario Cozier-Duberry. The 20-year-old has produced two assists and a goal since the start of the season. He also managed an additional four points in the previous game due to underlying metrics like interceptions, key passes and shots on target. This is a perfect example of his potential to pick up points from multiple avenues.
Huddersfield don’t just have fantastic clean sheet potential this week; they could also rack up the goals. As well as losing all but one of their first matches, Peterborough have also conceded a huge 16 goals. Because of this, and his ability to bag points from several different routes, talisman Ben Wiles makes the cut.
Forward
Picking a forward was tough this week. There are several that I think could have potential. I’m between a few at the moment for that reason. For now, I have settled on Mathew Dennis. Notts County have proven to be inconsistent, similar to last season. However, they have also displayed the ability to score goals at home, which is where they play this week. Leading the effective frontline, Dennis has mustered up at least one goal in each of his previous four league matches. He is one of the most in-form strikers in the game, so backing him against Fleetwood could be rewarding.
Club Picks
As tempted as I was to select Huddersfield for a second time this season, I think splitting the risk could be a better move. After all, I have already captained one of their defenders and selected one of their midfielders. Team picks are tough in general this week. There aren’t any who I think are bankers, even at home. Home is king in this game, though, or at least that’s how I like to play it. With this in mind, Cambridge and Bolton feel like solid picks. Being completely honest, I don’t trust any of these two sides, but they are the best of a bad bunch.
