DEFENCE
A couple of premium defenders get the nod in this lineup. We know from Joao Cancelo‘s (6.0m) days at Manchester City that the full-back has multiple routes to points, though his 13 from Round 1 derived from a clean sheet and 12 defensive actions, rather than being attacking.
Wesley Hoedt (6.0m) blanked in a surprise 4-1 home defeat, but our triple-up puts faith in Al Shabab’s ability to bounce back.
Joining Cancelo on 13 points was Nawaf Boushal (5.0m), due to a clean sheet, an assist and winning six tackles.
Behind them all is cheap goalkeeper Milan Borjan (4.5m). The veteran made 2024/25’s most saves and is facing newly-promoted Al Najmah.
ATTACK
Yet the opening weekend’s headlines belonged to attacking midfielder Joao Felix (7.6m). The 25-year-old bagged a debut hat-trick and accumulated five shots on target versus Al Taawoun.
He’s one of several former Premier League names here, such as Alexandre Lacazette (7.0m) and ex-Tottenham Hotspur winger Steven Bergwijn (9.5m).
The latter’s goal, assist and double-digit haul was matched by Kostas Fortounis (7.0m). Both the Greek star and Yannick Carrasco (7.0m) scored penalties against each other in Round 1 – a pretty useful trait for Fantasy midfielders.
Carrasco’s Al Shabab colleague Abderrazzaq Hamdallah (9.0m) disappointingly blanked last time, but it’s too soon to ignore his 150 goals from seven full Saudi Pro League campaigns.
THE CAPTAIN
Fixture-proof Cristiano Ronaldo (14.0m) gets the Round 2 armband. It’ll be 2024/25’s top scorer going against Al Kholood: the leakiest backline that didn’t get relegated.
