FANTASY EFL GAMEWEEK 12 TEAM REVEAL

GOALKEEPER
Stoke rank as one of the best defensive sides in the Championship so far, having shipped just six goals during their first nine league games. A home match against Wrexham and an away trip to Millwall could be two good opportunities for Viktor Johansson (G) to keep a clean sheet.
DEFENDERS
I’m still bullish on a three-man midfield taking over as the most optimal formation in this game after the points adjustment prior to the new campaign. With this in mind, I have selected just two defenders again this week. Leicester are one of two sides I think could keep a clean sheet in both of their matches this week. Their standout option is, of course, centre-back Jannik Vestergaard (D), who displayed his well-known goal threat during the recent league game against Swansea.
Joining him is Bobby Thomas (D) with Coventry going into Gameweek 12 off the back of keeping four consecutive league clean sheets. Thomas has benefitted from that defensive form – collecting between seven and 15 points in each of his previous four games, including three assists. The Englishman also takes my captain’s armband.
MIDFIELDERS
There appear to be lots of options in midfield this week, although all of them feel mediocre, which is making it difficult to settle. Sorba Thomas (M) is in great form. As mentioned, Stoke have two very good fixtures this week, and Thomas has managed at least seven points in the Potters’ last three outings.
Another player who offers multiple routes to points is Barry Bannan (M). Sheffield Wednesday are a difficult side to predict, but usually when they have any success at all, penalty-taker Bannan is involved. I don’t see many midfielders with as many routes to points as he does.
I’m less confident in Jordan James (M) but I think that’s my view on all of the Leicester attacking options. With two goals and one assist in his previous two league games, though, he goes into the double with good form, so I can’t really argue with that. If James were to come out, it’d be a Foxes defensive double-up.
FORWARD
Coventry have scored a massive 27 goals already this season, making offensive investment crucial this week. Frank Lampard’s men are in relentless attacking form and their standout asset is penalty taker Haji Wright (F). If Wright fails to start, then I’ll back teammate Brandon Thomas-Asante (F), who has also been exceptional as of late.
CLUB PICKS
I’m yet to pick Coventry this season, which makes them an absolute shoo-in for Gameweek 12. It would take a brave Fantasy EFL manager not to back the league leaders in a Double Gameweek. My other side is Leicester City. The Foxes haven’t been as good as I expected them to be this season, but they still sit third in the Championship. It may be just a matter of time before they start really firing, and we could see that in Gameweek 12.
