NOTES
- I’m saving my Cambridge United team selections for home fixtures, where they play their best football. Because of this, I’m going for a double-up in defence, with both Jake Eastwood and Kelland Watts.
- Lloyd Jones will always appeal to me in Double Gameweeks due to his floor. He also has some headed threat.
- I’ll be reverting back to my safe three-man midfield this week; it just seems to be the optimal formation for Gameweek 28. There are quite a lot of decent midfield picks, I think. Among them is Sorba Thomas, who offers multiple routes to points. I’m less convinced about Grimsby Town’s Jaze Kabia; he’s very hit and miss. He could be a late swap to Finn Azaz. Of course, Lewis Wing takes captaincy against two out-of-form sides. Away from home, we should also see more interceptions from him, along with the usual penalty duty and open play threat.
- Up front is Aaron Drinan, he’s also a captaincy shout this week.
- Avoiding Swindon Town and Cambridge team picks to save them isn’t as tough this week. Reading have two very nice away fixtures which could lead to bonus, whilst Grimsby Town are on a very good run of form.
- Good luck!

NOTES
- In goal, I’m backing James Beadle. He has two home fixtures and faces opponents out of form, which gives him strong clean-sheet potential.
- At the back, I’ve gone with Lloyd Jones and Cameron McJannett. Jones delivers a reliable bonus floor and poses a real threat from set pieces. McJannett gives me a secure route into the defence and consistently returns solid bonus points.
- In midfield, Cameron Brannagan leads the way. With De Keersmaecker absent, he takes control of set pieces and penalties, giving him multiple paths to points. Alongside him, Jaze Kabia should start in a very advanced role. The fixtures suit him, the quality is there, and that upside earns him the armband, even if the decision remains open.
- Up front, I’m backing Aaron Drinan and Jovon Makama. Drinan keeps delivering attacking returns and carries clear upside in these fixtures. Makama plays a key role in an attacking side and offers genuine haul potential.
- For team selections, I’ve gone with Swindon Town and Cambridge United. Swindon stand out on paper, while Cambridge still offer plenty of upside despite two away fixtures.

NOTES
- I’m starting Jake Eastwood in goal. He’s delivered a solid season with 11 clean sheets and now faces two sides struggling for confidence.
- At the back, I’ve selected Cameron McJannett for his favourable fixtures and strong bonus output. He’s joined by Ali Ahmed, who operates out of position as a winger and has made an excellent start to his EFL campaign, recording two goals and two assists in his opening four matches.
- In midfield, Lewis Wing feels like an easy call thanks to his all-round influence and multiple routes to points. I’ve paired him with Sorba Thomas, who faces two weak defences and looks overdue an attacking return.
- Up front, Aaron Drinan picks himself. He’s been electric this season with 16 goals and now plays twice at home. I’m also backing Marvin Ducksch, who comes up against two low-confidence sides leaking goals, with his minutes looking secure.
- For team selections, I’ve gone with Swindon Town and Grimsby Town. Both sides arrive in strong form, boast favourable fixtures, and continue to push for promotion.
- The armband goes on Drinan.
- Good luck all.

NOTES
- Another Double Gameweek is on the horizon, and Swindon’s fixtures look outstanding. Conor Ripley sits firmly on my radar, commanding his box well and staying heavily involved for saves, with a very real chance of coming away with two clean sheets.
- At the back, Lloyd Jones continues to thrive on defensive bonus points. He dominates aerially, and two favourable home fixtures give him serious haul potential. Alongside him, Kelland Watts adds extra upside. He carries genuine aerial threat, has already shown he can score at this level, and the fixtures boost both his goal and clean-sheet prospects.
- In midfield, Lewis Wing remains Reading’s talisman. He’s nailed for 90 minutes, takes penalties, and his match-ups should suit his all-action style, pushing up his interception and production numbers. Ben Slimane also appeals as a strong differential. He’s flying under the radar since Clement’s arrival, operating in a central attacking role behind the striker and staying heavily involved in goal-threatening areas. Meanwhile, Finn Azaz steps into a leadership role following Armstrong’s departure and now carries responsibility for creativity, tempo, and end product in Southampton’s midfield.
- Up front, Aaron Drinan is impossible to ignore. Three goals in two matches underline his form, and with these fixtures, he shapes up as a must-own forward right now.

NOTES
- Formation: 2-2-2
- Captain: Lewis Wing (Reading)
- Team Picks: Reading & Cambridge
- Overall Rank: 735
- Following another very strong Double Gameweek 27, where I finished on 126 points, I’ve moved up a further 200 places in the overall rankings. Because of that momentum, confidence is high heading into Double Gameweek 28. With that in mind, this is how I’m approaching the upcoming round.
- Goalkeeper: Liam Roberts (Mansfield | 2.4% selected) – Starting in goal, I’ve opted for Liam Roberts. Not only does he already have eight clean sheets this season, but he also benefits from two home fixtures against Exeter and Peterborough. Furthermore, he ranks second for total saves in League One with 81. As a result, he offers multiple routes to points, even if one of the clean sheets fails to materialise.
- Defence: Cameron McJannett (Grimsby | 6.6% selected) Kelland Watts (Cambridge | 4.5% selected) – Moving into defence, Cameron McJannett immediately stands out. On the one hand, he faces two opponents who continue to struggle for goals. On the other, his 10 clean sheets this season underline his defensive reliability. In addition to that, his clearance volume regularly boosts his bonus output, which further strengthens his appeal. Alongside him, Watts offers a slightly different route to points. While he forms part of the strongest defence in League Two, he also brings genuine attacking threat. Moreover, with four goals already this season, ranking him third among defenders, he carries upside at both ends of the pitch.
- Midfield: Ben Knight (Cambridge | 0.4% selected) Lewis Wing (Reading | 16.6% selected) – Turning attention to midfield, Ben Knight continues to fly under the radar. Over the last five matches alone, he’s returned 61 points, scoring five goals and adding one assist. Crucially, he’s also on penalties. Because of that, and because of his advanced role, he offers several consistent routes to returns rather than relying on one outcome. Meanwhile, Lewis Wing takes the second midfield spot and, importantly, the captaincy. With double away fixtures against Wimbledon and Wigan, Reading’s talisman finds himself well placed to deliver. Additionally, his all-action role suits bonus scoring, and with 15 goal involvements already this season (eight goals, seven assists), the ceiling remains high.
- Forwards: Jack Marriott (Reading | 0.9% selected) Aaron Drinan (Swindon | 6.2% selected) – Up front, Jack Marriott continues to justify selection. To date, he’s registered 14 goal involvements from just 18 appearances. Moreover, Reading rank third for away goals scored in League One, which further boosts his prospects across this double. Alongside him, Drinan retains his place after scoring three goals in his last two matches. More importantly, he now benefits from an excellent home double against Oldham and Newport. Because of that, and with 16 league goals already to his name, he remains one of the strongest forward options this round.
- Team Picks: Finally, this feels like the right week to actively chase upside through team selections. Both Reading and Cambridge have winnable Double Gameweeks. As a result, targeting away win bonuses makes sense, and if performances match the fixtures, nine-point returns in each match remain firmly on the table.
