Serie A Fantasy Gameweek 35 is coming, so our experts share their latest team, thoughts and strategies ahead of the deadline.

NOTES

  • Injuries are absolutely killing me right now. Luka Modrić and Justin Bijlow are both confirmed out – with Modrić ruled out for the rest of the season – while Moise Kean looks like he’s never coming back. That said, I don’t usually rely too heavily on strikers anyway.
  • Manuel Locatelli feels like a perfect replacement for Modrić. He offers a very similar ceiling, comes in at the same price point, and has favourable fixtures ahead. On top of that, the Sofascore algorithm tends to reward playmakers, so he has a strong chance of consistently picking up rating-based returns.

NOTES

  • After a pretty mediocre week, the original plan was to bring in a Juventus defender for Strahinja Pavlović. Unfortunately, Hakan Çalhanoğlu picking up an injury has thrown a bit of a spanner in the works. With only one free transfer, my options feel quite limited.
  • One thing I’m certain on – I’m 100% bringing in a Juventus player this week. Their form has been excellent, and the fixtures look ideal right through to the end of the season.
  • The most straightforward move is bringing in Manuel Locatelli, which feels like the likely route right now. Alternatively, I could go more aggressive – sell both Çalhanoğlu and Pavlović, and bring in Pierre Kalulu plus either Martin Baturina or an Inter midfielder for a -5 hit.
  • It’s one of those where I’ll probably wait as long as possible before locking it in.

NOTES

  • The previous Gameweek turned out to be a huge success. I picked up solid returns right across the pitch, a massive captain haul from Kevin De Bruyne that fully rewarded the patience, and ended up comfortably clearing 100 points for the round, which pushed me back to the top of the rankings.
  • Now we move into Gameweek 35, with just four rounds left. I’m relatively happy with how the squad looks overall. My only real concern is Hakan Çalhanoğlu, whom I brought in for a hit two Gameweeks ago. After two blanks, he’s now picked up another injury, which is far from ideal. Inter are clearly going to prioritise his availability for the Coppa Italia final, which almost certainly rules him out of the Parma match and doesn’t look great for the following round either, with the cup clash against Lazio taking priority.
  • That makes Çalhanoğlu a very straightforward sell. The plan is to bring in Kenan Yıldız, who feels like a no-brainer given Juventus’ extremely favourable run of fixtures. The only slight concern is his fitness – he’s been training individually in recent weeks and only making short cameo appearances. If he’s fit, though, he goes straight into my team without hesitation.
  • There aren’t any other injury concerns in the squad, but that doesn’t mean I’m not weighing up further moves. Alessandro Buongiorno could make way, especially with a tricky away fixture against Como, while Strahinja Pavlović also faces a tough run; away to Sassuolo followed by a match against Atalanta. These aren’t the kind of fixtures that fill you with confidence for clean sheet potential.
  • That said, I don’t have two free transfers, so any additional move would mean taking a hit. I’ll think very carefully before going down that route – it might be a step too aggressive at this stage.
  • Good luck!
