NOTES

  • My moves for Round 11 mainly focus on upgrading the defence.
  • In goal, Brian Schwake has arguably the best fixture on paper this week. Still, I prefer Matt Turner. He offers a far safer floor and also has a strong run of fixtures leading into the World Cup break.
  • At the back, I’m bringing in the in-form Joseph Rosales after another strong stretch of performances. Maxwell Woledzi also comes into the side ahead of Nashville’s favourable home fixture against DC United, which looks like one of the best defensive matchups of the round.
  • Further forward, Diego Luna feels like an easy inclusion this week. He ranks among the league leaders for expected assists per 90 minutes and should become even more important creatively with Niko Tsakiris sidelined until after the World Cup.
  • I still haven’t fully decided on my final transfer. Right now, though, I’ll most likely use it to further strengthen my front eight before the deadline.

NOTES

  • My goalkeepers will remain unchanged this week. Even with a slight clash, there still aren’t many appealing alternatives available.
  • In defence, I’m looking to bring in Lucas Herrington. I also like the look of Will Sands, who offers a cheap route into the New England Revolution defence ahead of a favourable matchup against Philadelphia Union. Anthony Markanich will also come into my side. He provides a high-upside pick because of his strong goal threat and plays in a solid defence against a weak Austin team.
  • In midfield, Kristoffer Velde stands out as a clear target due to the strong fixture against Sporting Kansas City. My second midfield selection has been much tougher. Both Joaquin Pereyra and Wilfried Zaha look like strong options. However, I’ve currently opted for Zaha because of slight concerns over Pereyra’s minutes with James Rodríguez now around the squad.
  • There are also plenty of reasons to like both Albert Rusnák and Hany Mukhtar this week.
  • My forward line will remain unchanged.

NOTES

  • Week 11 delivered 98 points and a small green arrow, which moves me up to an overall rank of 157.
  • There are no changes in goal this week. Andrew Thomas of Seattle will play first, while Hugo Lloris keeps his place despite conceding four goals to Toluca in the CONCACAF Champions Cup during midweek.
  • At the back, I’ve moved on from Thiago Martins and brought in Silvan Hefti of DC United. Jamar Ricketts also leaves the squad, with Will Sands coming in from New England Revolution.
  • The rest of the defence is made up of Mathías Laborda, Anthony Markanich, and Alex Roldán.
  • In midfield, I’ve made one change by bringing in Evander for the injured Niko Tsakiris. Alongside him are Carles Gil, Guilherme, Nick Fernandez, and Rodrigo De Paul.
  • Up front, I’m making two changes. Paul Judd makes way for Rafael Navarro of Colorado Rapids, while Bouda leaves the side to be replaced by Philip Zinckernagel of Chicago Fire. Lionel Messi keeps his place in the forward line.
  • Captaincy will start on Messi as he plays first.

NOTES

  • After a grey arrow last week that kept me in eighth place overall, the plan this week is to target a few punts with strong fixtures.
  • My first two transfers in are Cristian Espinoza and Hany Mukhtar, with both players benefiting from a favourable home fixture against DC United. I’m going very attack-heavy on this matchup, especially with Nashville likely to respond strongly after their CONCACAF Champions Cup defeat.
  • I’m also bringing in Martín Ojeda and Iago to target the fixture against Montreal, which looks like another strong opportunity for attacking returns.
  • My final transfer will most likely be used on Telasco Segovia, who has a favourable away matchup against Toronto this week.
  • Making way are Sebastian Berhalter, Anthony Markanich, Moreno, Guilherme, and Paul Judd. The moves allow me to remove players with either difficult fixtures, uncertain minutes, or added risk heading into the round.
  • Having captaincy options across the first three windows also feels very important this week.
