Welcome to our live blog for the first day of price reveals for Fantasy Premier League (FPL) 2026/27.

Three players are to be priced up today, as voted for by Fantasy managers.

6PM – GABRIEL UP BY £2.0M

Another whopping rise, this time for last season’s top-scoring defender.

Gabriel Magalhaes is up to £8.0m, an increase of £2.0m on what he was a year ago.

The Brazilian finished on 209 points in 2025/26, which was just four short of Andrew Robertson’s all-time record for a defender. Gabriel was, of course, helped by something defenders in previous campaigns didn’t benefit from: defensive contribution (DefCon) points. He banked 22 of those.

Is this rise a first indication that DefCon machines are to be hiked in price after the successes of Messrs Senesi, Tarkowski, Lacroix et al in 2025/26? Many of those felt underpriced as centre-halves prospered from their defensive actions.

Let’s not forget, however, that Gabriel also delivered eight attacking returns and 18 clean sheets last season. DefCon points actually only accounted for 10.5% of his points.

Above: Arsenal’s first 10 fixtures in 2026/27

Incidentally, in case you missed it, it’s worth mentioning that Gabriel would have been the biggest loser on the bonus points front had FPL’s BPS changes for 2026/27 been around 12 months ago.

£8.0m, a price we haven’t seen for a defender since Trent Alexander-Arnold in 2023/24, isn’t a record for a player in Gabriel’s position. John Arne Riise and John Terry both came in £0.5m more expensive two decades ago.

4PM – BRUNO HANDED £3.0M PRICE RISE

Assuming Mohamed Salah’s mantle as FPL’s priciest midfielder (surely!) is Bruno Fernandes.

The Manchester United talisman climbs to £12.0m, his highest starting price since 2021/22. It’s a rise of £3.0m on what he was 12 months ago.

The Portuguese playmaker, like Haaland, had his second-best-ever FPL season in 2025/26. Nine goals and a whopping 24 assists lifted him to 235 points, just short of Haaland’s tally.

Interestingly, FPL say that Fernandes “has been handed the joint-biggest price rise from last season”. So, at least one other player has climbed £3.0m. Could it be Eli Junior Kroupi? Antoine Semenyo? Gabriel Magalhaes at £9.0m?!

United’s start to the season is pretty favourable, especially the first two Gameweeks. Looking further ahead, Manchester City are the only top-10 finishers from Premier League 2025/26 who the Red Devils face in the first seven Gameweeks.

Will Bruno be as reliable a starter this season, however? United weren’t in Europe last year and exited both domestic cups at the first hurdle. 40 games a campaign is the minimum that any Premier League club can have. As a result, minute management was non-existent.

Contrast that with Arsenal, who played 63 matches in 2025/26.

Ruben Amorim previously discussed the likelihood of Bruno sucking up bench duty in 2026/27 – although he’s now no longer at the club, of course.

2PM – HAALAND IN AT A RECORD PRICE

No player has ever been priced up at £15.5m before, so Erling Haaland breaks the previous record of £15.0m he set back in 2024/25.

The Norwegian had actually dropped to £14.0m at the start of 2025/26.

This £1.5m increase follows his second-best-ever season in FPL, in which he plundered 239 points.

However, the price rise might be more to do with the departure of Mohamed Salah. For (most of) the last four years, Fantasy managers have faced the recurring decision over whether to own Haaland, Salah or, perhaps compromising the squad depth elsewhere, both big-money premium picks. With the Egyptian now gone, selecting Haaland has to be made more complex in other ways.

Going without him initially may be a risk. The Norway international usually starts the season well, as this table from the Premier League illustrates:

HAALAND’S FIRST SIX GAMEWEEKS IN EACH SEASON

SeasonPtsGoalsAssists
2022/2367101
2023/245181
2024/2565100
2025/266281

Haaland and Manchester City have a decent start to 2026/27, too, especially their first four home fixtures:

    Haaland

    Either Fernandes or Gabriel

    Not all 3

Not sure Gabriel is worth the money anymore without Saliba next to him and refs potentially cracking down on Royal Rumble corners.

I think if people aren’t allowed to touch Gabriel, that could make him score even more

They'll over-correct, so keepers will get even more protection and 9/10 corners will end in a foul until they suddenly forget to apply their own rules around November

Also, less points for blocks, tackles and interceptions on BPS. Not sure about DefCon.

It's actually not that bad to have all 3

    5.0, 4.0
    6.0, 5.0, 4.5, 4.5, 4.5
    12.0, 8.0, 6.5, 6.5, 4.5
    15.5, 7.0, 4.5

    And without Gabriel
    5.0, 4.0
    6.0, 5.0, 5.0, 4.5, 4.5
    12.0, 8.5, 6.5, 6.5, 4.5
    15.5, 7.0, 5.0
    0.5 itb

Assuming, alongside those 3, other good picks will be Mbeumo (8m or 8.5m), Senesi/Porro (5m), Guehi (5m), and Virgil (6m, [new, NFO, ips, FUL])

Wow, the feeling has definitely got me now. Can't wait

Guehi 5.0? Never going to happen. He was the second highest scoring defender last season and the highest scoring defender has been moved to 8.0. Guehi will be minimum 6.0, probably 6.5.

I think it might go live tomorrow. They said they'd release three prices, which they now have.

No more price reveals have been teased, so they seem to be done with the foreplay now.

LetsTalkFPL Andy said they've never launched on a Friday. Which makes sense because they need to leave a workday for hotfixing any bugs after release.

I think it's too late to launch it tonight, but they might start the final update this evening.
Last year on 20th July they revealed the first four new prices followed by the eleven players who had changed position and then started the final update before 10.20 pm.
Then on 21st July they revealed another two new prices in the morning before launching at 12.32pm UK time.
I think they may have deliberately delayed the completion of the final update and the actual launch till it was lunchtime in the UK.
They'll want to time the launch for when everyone including the content creators is online and eagerly expecting it.

I was looking at GW2 BB because Coventry have HUL. This Hull team have the worst data I have ever seen coming up from the Championship. So maybe a 4.0m Coventry defender and a cheap attacker could fill the holes for a BB without taking away too many points from the surrounding weeks.

I want to WC between GW5 & GW6 because there is an extra chunky international break then with 4 games. Plenty of opportunities for injuries. The window shuts earlier this season after GW2, so we'll have 3 GWs after then to see how the pieces are coming together.

Therefore the BB chaf will need to be carried for 4 GWs, so I'd like the players to be light.

I got 12pts from a similar strategy last season when two promoted sides met in GW2. I'd be happy with 12 points again if it meant the surrounding weeks aren't leeched by a beefy bench. BB is a curse.

Oh it was 14 points. From the cheapest possible bench:

        4.0m - 4.0m - 4.0m - 4.5m
        Dubravka (6) - Alderete (1) - Esteve (6) - Guiu (1)

Doubt we're lucky with a 4.5m striker or 4.0m keeper again but something along these lines will do.

Though it's okay for a full back? Trent was 8.0 and look how that panned out.

And if he's 8.0, what do we think other Arsenal defenders will be, or Raya for that matter?

At least 6.5 IMO for Raya, Timber, Saliba & Califiori.

Hincapie probably will go for 5.5.

      1. SM001
        • 10 Years

Full backs get forward so have better rotes to points. Trent was 8m because he's one of the best passers in the game and was on set-pieces and played behind Mo Salah.

I dunno captaincy makes them value.

Say you captained Buno just twice in the first five weeks, you're essentially getting seven Brunos for 8.6m each. That's good value.

Haaland captained twice in the first five would be 11.0m per Haaland, or 9.7m per Haaland if you captain him three out the first five.

Captaincy is key for those two.

Gabriel is a little more complicated because of VORP. It depends on the Value Of the Replacement Players, and we don't have prices yet.

And to be honest I don’t understand why it was done that way in the first place.

That’s like keeper only get the one save point for 3 saves and every save after that would be worth nothing, bit odd, consistency is key.

That’s not what he is saying, yes a save from a goalkeeper has more importance than a DEFCON however it’s the principle that multiples of the 3 save sequence generates continuous points where that is not the case with DEFCON. If a player reaches 20 or even 30 DEFCON in a match that should merit additional points and not only be capped at 10.

I’m Definately going to play around with a GBH draft. Yeah at 8.0 Gabriel is expensive but wasn’t he 3rd highest scorer last season? If he was a mid close to 200 points at 8.0 we’d all have him in. Obviously a balanced squad is important too. Gonna need a couple of non playing 4.0 subs to fund it. At least that takes away the benching headache a all playing 15 man squad can give you

Semenyo would be locked in my team at 7.0m, expecting 8m+

Semenyo or Thiago seems most likely. I'd expect Anderson to get a substantial hike too.

I think it may be Kroupi. FPL made Kluivert 7.0 for following season after his 158p outing in 2024/25. Granted, Kroupi wouldn't have got that many points in last season as a MID, but he is a pure goal-scorer and has very clear OOP potential.

I wouldn't be shocked, if Kroupi's next season is something like Mbeumo's past season FPL-wise. 2611 minutes played, 11 goals, 3 assists and 148 points. I can see Kroupi scoring 15+ goals but he is still quite raw as a player and development is rarely a straight line from a bottom corner to a top one.

Honestly I don't think they will launch the game this week. Most likely they will again drip feed prices per team until early next week and then launch the game like they have done past few seasons. It's all about the social media engagement nowadays which I hate. It was so much more fun to open the game and see all the prices at the same time.

Like coming down on Christmas morning knowing what you have. Who cares about social media engagement? Just the professionals in that sector who talk it up to justify their budgets. What on earth of a difference does it make to anyone, you're hardly going to spend more money at the club due to FPL price tweets!

They've grown the game significantly in recent years, and everything they do seems to be to that end. So I would suggest its probably working even though I agree its frustrating.

There were plenty of people on Twitter claiming inside info and it spread I think.

Oh I'm not actually refreshing. I'd be happy with a 4 figure rank, anything below that is almost a badge of shame 😆
