To the frustration of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers about to use a Gameweek 1 Bench Boost, Christian Norgaard will not take part in the opener at home to Crystal Palace.

Speaking at Friday’s press conference, David Moyes confirmed that Everton will be without three central midfielders.

James Garner underwent successful surgery to address a groin issue in July, while new boy Norgaard has gone under the knife for the same reason.

Tim Iroegbunam, heavily linked with a move to Hull City, is out with a groin problem of his own.
