Just ten days after celebrating three-figure tallies, many Fantasy managers are now left counting the flags as the international break casualties mount.

Sergio Aguero leads the army of crocks. The City striker’s twanging hamstring has taken the shine off his incredible 25-point haul and it’s his demise from hero to zero that dominates the chatter in this latest ScoutCast episode.

With Granville struck down by sniffles, Luke aka “D1sable” steps into the breach to join Jonty and myself to take up the challenge of weighing up the Aguero stand-ins.

We also take time to assess two contrasting managerial appointments, greeting Jurgen Klopp’s thrilling heavy metal football, whilst mustering a nod to Big Sam’s bid to produce a Black Cats escape routine.

This latest episode was first broadcast live via our YouTube channel on Wednesday evening. You can view the full broadcast via the larger player below (much as we love Luke, we do eventually shift the camera from him).

For the edited and slightly more refined audio experience, you’ll need this link or the stream available via small player.

Be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for the heads-up on future episodes.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Alright, I got a bit of a situation here, I've got 3 players out this gw and that's my team:

    Ruddy - Buttland

    Dawson - Williams - Kompany - Richards - Elphick(i)
    Sanchez - Mahrez - Payet - Mane - Westwood
    Aguero(i) - Diouf(i) - Vardy

I already made my FT, so here are my options:

    A) wait on diouf hoping he gets back for the next 2 games (WAT-new), replace aguero and westwood
    B) Replace Aguero and Diouf
    C) take just one hit for aguero and play Micah Richards (4-4-2)

The second question would be, who's the best replacement for westwood (regardless of the money) ?

    1. Sergeant Garcia

Similar to my team. Iv ditched Aguero for Pelle. Now considering whether to take an additional hit for Diouf>Costa/Kane or Westwood>Walcott. Not easy.

      C) IMO. Diouf could be ok, if not you end up with a 4-4-2 which doesn't look too bad.

No, Origi has simply been terrible in every minute he has played for Liverpool so far. Even if he plays I wouldn't want him in my team.

I started the season with Walcott. Even made him captain opening day. Enjoyed my two points. Stuck with him week two and then rage wildcarded him out week three.

Since then I have gone from 2.9m rank to 15k.

You would think I have been doing fine without him but I just can't resist bringing him in. Do i ever learn?

352 until Aguero is back sounds okay? He has 12 goals in his last 14 games for Arsenal. 8.6m and is classed as a striker for a title chasing team. You could think he can hit 15+ goals.

    Whatever can go wrong?

Walcott is essential if you think he is going to get playing time. With the Bayern CL game that is in doubt and so it is a risk. I'd take it if I didn't already have a solid midfield 4

... just because he works hard? He'd do okay but he isn't the best either offensively or defensively, he's a headless chicken, no leadership qualities. Ibe will suit Kloppo right down to the ground, pacey, great running against his man, and to the touchline, knows a bit more about getting back now. Ibe for me.

This. I think Ibe offers far more to the team than Milner when you consider their positions. Give Lucas (possibly Sakho) Vice Captaincy. Sorted.

The problem is the left wide man. Yes Ibe has potential but he isn't ready for first team. Rodgers was a fool to let Markovic go out on loan. We'll need to sign a winger anyway.

... and Ibe has that physical power that Sterling lacked, he'll be an absolute nightmare to deal with in Klopps, high pressing and counter attacking system. I can see him being used as a battering ram to get the other team on the back foot and panicking when we break with pace.

Nah, I think Lucas is needed, he's the holding player, the defensive one, and I think Can is so, so, so much better than Milner in midfield, Milner is quite useless really.

I think Lucas is a good passer, better than Allen, because he always looks to play the ball forward and quickly when he receives it, and will do an excellent job shielding the defense, which Allen won't.

I don't rate either. Allen suits Klopp more though. Fair to say Emre and Hendo aside, LFC have average midfielders. A move for Ruben Neves, I've read.

Utilise Chirivella then, he's a DM, and by all accounts quite good. Youngsters need chances, you'll never know until you give them that, no point bringing in another unproven kid to block the progression of a kid we already have. That's what the Brodge would do.

So I've drafted the below wildcard team, below it are my thoughts behind it. Would be interested if you could please let me know:

    1) What you rate it out of 10
    2) Which of my thoughts (A to M) you agree/disagree with?

    Butland, Hennessey
    Bellerin, Bertrand, Dawson, Moreno, Davies
    Sanchez, KDB, Hazard, Ayew, Wanyama
    Pelle, Lukaku, Vardy

    A) Not hugely fussed about which 4.5 keeper, I think Butland has scope for improvement when ShawX is back. I don't think 5.0 keepers are worth the extra outlay given the new bonus system/save points.
    B) I quite fancy Hennessey to keep his spot as a punt and even if he doesn't I'm not too worried as he is just 3.9 and it'll save me my usual keeper rotation headache.
    C) Kolarov, even if fit, could eventually become a rotation threat, and could easily become under threat of being rested - I think it is time for me to say goodbye.
    D) Owning a West Brom defender over the season will be essential and Dawson is a safe option to keep hold of.
    E) Bellerin and Bertrand both capable of attacking and defensive returns and I think they'll be up at the top of the defender rankings at the end of the season for a reasonable price.
    F) Davies is a bit of a risk but seems to have nailed down his place, Moreno is now nailed on. For 4.5 and 4.7, I see this pair as well worth the 0.2 premium over a pair of different 4.5s.
    G) Sanchez is a season keeper and no brainer, at least until Aguero returns KDB is the best City cover and even then it is probably worth doubling up.
    H) Despite the poor form you have to back Chelsea to pick it up at some point and the fixtures suggest that time is now, Hazard covers this, to wildcard without this cover could easily end up in a mad scramble in a week or two. Having Hazard, KDB and Sanchez leaves multiple options for getting Aguero back in at a later date.
    I) Long term Ayew and Payet will probably score similar, Ayew is that little bit cheaper so worth saving the money.
    J) There are loads of options in midfield and up front across all price brackets - for this reason I don't see the need and don't want to double up on Leicester, Southampton or any other team's attacking assets (I don't count Wanyama).
    K) Lukaku is in form and I'll want him in GW11 in any event, so may as well get him in now.
    L) It was a close call between Vardy and Mahrez and I went Vardy. Vardy and Wanyama is 0.4 cheaper (at least for me) than Mahrez and Ighalo, this along with selection made easier by perma-benching Wanyama made up my mind on this one.
    M) Picking Pelle over Mane was a close call, I think he will be more consistent but less explosive.

I think most folk do. "Who will get most pts for the season [ ] or [ ]......?" must be the most asked question on here...

I bet only a very small % actually keep either choice for the season...

True, although you do need to have season-long points in mind. Generally a player's points over the next 6 will reflect upon their points for the rest of the season so the two kind of correlate. The fact you only have 1 transfer a week (and often that is dictated by whoever gets injured) you may end up with a player you bring in for a long time.

    5. Zizoulicious
      • 10 Years

Solid defence and some big hitters in midfield. Would try fit Mane and/or Walcott in somehow. No benching problems but I think 5 in 'midfield is the better choice until Aguero is back and the likes of Sturridge is firing.

      Agree: a,b,c,e,f,g,k,l,m

....similar to mine, although payet>ayew imo and I don't see the problem in doubling up on Southampton/Leicester,I think it's the way to go until Chelsea sort themselves out.
