Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

That Francis tackle on Vardy looked pretty fair to me. Don't think he deserved a red card along with a PK. Harsh rule in my opinion, almost like double jeopardy.

I guess that's why they say 'the ball the never lies'

    Looking at you Riyad

Well , Leicester have got 8 penalties this season . They were going to miss 1 eventually

ouch, you gave him the armband? those are tough to take when you cap misses a PK.

        might sting for awhile

true but those are the kind of moves that shoot you up the rankings, when a popular cap choice fails and yours does well...

I thought Mahrez was fairly calculated risk this weekend...

Hi everyone, any news on reversal of kolarov own goal given it was 'on target' before the deflection?

    1. oghash
      • 10 Years

It won't be changed. It was given as keeper would of saved it if not touched, not because of it being on target or not

There was talk of the offical epl and fpl rules being about 'on target', regardless of the probable save. Could have been trolling I guess

Just about the direction, like the off/on target thing. Goes down to the touch having an impact. In one case directing it in goal and on target, the other directing it in goal past the keeper. Not saying that I agree.

One spell in the late 90's early 00's the Italian serie a gave own goals to keepers that touched it before it went in when attempting to save, now imagine that in fpl!

Yeah this is true. Very tempting. Do you think Payet will hit the ground running and get decent minutes? 2 away games up next and then City - perhaps he can wait a few weeks to get properly match fit before his fixtures get juicy

That's exactly what I'm thinking. bou, new, MCI. Decent fixtures, but maybe it's sensible to take a punt on Siggy (SUN, WAT, eve) and then reevaluate.

Payet may even be eased in

Not sold on Siggy yet, just too much uncertainty around Swansea right now.

Yeah, similar thoughts here. He's looked better of late though and SUN do leaky goals away from home. On penos too. I'm thinking a 2 week gamble on Siggy for SUN, WAT before a switch to Payet (who should be match fit by then).

Moreno is also very frustrating. Super attacking but fixtures are tough and Liverpool look poor.

Moreno is cheap enough to just to leave on the bench I reckon. Pool are incredibly inconsistent, a nightmare for fantasy managers but just beware that Klopp has a history/reputation in Germany for doing crap against mediocre teams and doing really well in the 'big' games.

Kinda has already proved that this season with the dominating wins vs Chelsea, City and Leicester and piss poor performances vs NEW and WAT.

Yeah, sure seems that way. Don't fancy any cleanies for pool over the next 4 weeks though so perhaps a switch to Williams/Cresswell could be the way to go.

I feel like we had a similar low scoring GW around this time last season but I can't remember correctly.

The congested xmas schedule seems to have affected most of the teams.

Multiple sloppy goals at the end of games, clumsy tackles and slow pace games likely due to fatigue or lack of recovery time.

Based on your experience, is this week just an anomaly or part of a recurring pattern that we should note for future seasons?

Want to drop one of my Arsenal def/GK for West Ham, clear space for Sanchez in few weeks...

    Thoughts on:
    Cech > Adrian
    Bellerin > Cresswell

or keep ARS back 2 for now and do
    VVD > Cresswell

    Cech / Myhill
    Bellerin, VVD, Walker, Nyom, Francis

I'm in a similar situation with 2ft and just enough to get in aguero. Think there are a couple of good cheap midfielders (Stanislas maybe) so possibly just wait it out. The uncertainty around games in the interim is also a big factor, so I'm probably going to wait.

I don't mind the moves but I prefer Daniels over Smith because he is nailed and on PKs.

Smith will lose his in a couple weeks when Elphick comes back. This is will push Francis back to his normal right fullback spot.

Arsenal : liv, sto, CHE, SOT, bou, LEI, mun

That looks difficult and they will also have Barcelona between LEI and mun.

West Ham : bou, new, MCI, AVL, sot, nor, SUN

On the contrary, it looks like a good run for West Ham.

I think we should wait until he gets 90 first and makes it through unscathed. I'm always skeptical of bringing players back after any injury because it takes time to get up to game speed and get your touch back.

In addition, there is always the possibility of re aggravating the injury or have something else come up (see Lanzini)
