The results are in from the fourth round of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup III, sponsored by Paddy Power, and can be viewed right here. For a round-up of how 64 became 32, read on…

In what was a low-scoring week all-round, Gazzamania narrowly came out on top with a handy 53 points. That earns him a free £25 bet courtesy of sponsors Paddy Power, and a spot in round five. Feeling the full force of that score was Ron Burgundy, who could only muster a lowly 21. That was the third-worst score of the round and, unsurprisingly, that tie had the widest margin of victory.

Just missing out on the week’s top-score by a single point was Manif, who killed off our former champion donnellyc 52 – 37, as I correctly predicted.

Also biting the dust this week is my fellow Scout, Granville. He lost 40 – 33 to Chris81, thanks largely to Charles N’Zogbia.

With no draws this week, all ties were all decided on points. The closest of which were single point victories for Dksbananas and Unwillingplayer, who were 37 – 36 and 41 – 40 victors over megatron x and Fiat_Chelsea respectively.

Mightily unlucky this round is Mighty and daniel.mf, as the former was involved in the highest scoring tie of the round, losing 51 – 43 to DollyDaisy, and the latter achieved the best score that failed to progress, in his 49 – 44 effort against olive.

Fortune instead favoured gooner dave, who had the lowest score good enough for a victory and his 29 – 22 game against Azfad was the lowest scoring tie of the round.

The wooden spoon for round four goes to xero131, who could only score a pitiful 15 points. Placidcasual was the benefactor there.

Congratulations to our final 32, and commiserations to those leaving us at this juncture.

With Gameweek 12 only a day away, there is no let-up in the schedule and our 32 Fantasy Managers will have only a few hours notice of their fifth round opponent; expect the draw this time tomorrow.

Hard-working but a bit crap. Needs 30 chances to get a goal.

Agreed. He is gash. Selling Tevez for him two weeks ago was a piss poor decision in retrospect.

Who do you think I should sub this week? Currenty have
Vidic, Elmo & Nani on the bench, playing

    Foster
    Coleman Konchesky Alex
    Etherington Cahill Bale Adam
    Drogba Carroll Tevez

Not sure about Etherington, my last week with him I think.

Why have Vidic on the bench? Gotta be worth a go for the set pieces at least?

I think if you have a defender over 7 mil then you should never bench them. I'd play 4 at the back and drop Adam.

I hate to say it, but Everton really is due a penalty soon :p

Even if I had 3 bad captains in a row now (Drogba, Cesc, Cesc) i'm still going Drogba this week.

Guys, is it worth a 4 point hit to swap Salcido & Nasri for Alex and Jarvis?

    Help!

    Foster (Gilks)
    Mummy Alex Jags (Hangeland, Baptiste)
    Fab Nasri VdV Adam Brunt
    Cham Torres (Dembele)

This gw I've dumped Drog for Torres (madness, I know... need the cash) and, at current prices, want to do Cham -> Tevez, Hangeland -> KOL and Nasri -> Arteta which will leave me 0.0 in the bank.

Question: Should I do the Tevez or Arteta transfer this gw for a 4 point hit? I'm Feeling Kol will be starting very soon (maybe wednesday) but can wait for that one. It obviously depends on Nasri's fitness but any advice would be welcome.

    Cheers

Salcido out for Hutton (and $0.8M in the back) or Bosingwa (and $0M)?

Wanted Kolarov but am $0.1M short...

I like Hutton - especially because you can wait until tomorrow.

The starting lineups will be in before the deadline.

This is what I'm going to do.

If VDV and Hutton both start I'll be doing Gohouri (suspended) and Nani (injured) OUT for Hutton and VDV in.
