Repost from earlier in case anyone missed it.

Leicester 2-1 Watford (Vardy, Deeney penalties)
    Man City 3-1 Southampton
    Spurs 1-2 Newcastle
    Chelsea 3-1 Sunderland (Oscar penalty)
    Swansea 1-0 West Brom
    Arsenal 2-0 Bournemouth
    Man City 0-0 Everton
Aston Villa 0-1 Leicester (Mahrez penalty miss)

Robert Madley [10 penalties in 15 games]

    Spurs 2-2 Stoke (Arnautovic penalty)
    Villa 2-2 Sunderland (Sinclair penalty)
    Watford 1-0 Swansea
    Man City 1-2 West Ham
    West Brom 2-3 Everton
    Chelsea 1-3 Southampton
    Swansea 0-1 Stoke (Bojan penalty)
    Sunderland 3-0 Newcastle (Johnson penalty)
Man City 2-1 Norwich (Kolarov penalty miss, Touré penalty)
Watford 1-2 Man Utd (Deeney penalty)
    Arsenal 3-1 Sunderland
    Man City 2-1 Swansea
Stoke 1-2 Crystal Palace (Bojan, Wickham penalties)
    West Ham 2-0 Liverpool

Anorak used to do a regular article - I always enjoyed it even if I didn't base many decisions on it. Would occassionally persuade me on a tricky captaincy choice if it indicated a penalty was more likely for one of my options.

    1. Mr Alex
      • 11 Years

I just see Everton as one of those teams who seem to concede in games they shouldn't, and then keep the odd CS in games where it wasn't to be unexpected. Don't think il be getting him/any other Everton defender ATM, but that could change.

      1. UKG
        • 15 Years
        9 years, 11 months ago

I know what you mean, but what teams are certain of CS, look at Leicester one minute they are playing the we will core one more than you game, then 3 CS on the bounce (after I drop Huth 🙁 )

Looking at Spurs they are still capable of shipping the odd cheap goal with Lloris.

Chelsea? United? Got rid of Kolarov 2-3 weeks back thankfully but again City cant keep a CS whilst Kompany is out of the team.

        Hmmm..

        1. Mr Alex
          • 11 Years
          9 years, 11 months ago

People may disagree but I think the best option is to have 3 good defenders who are capable of keeping CS against most teams, and play them as often as possible. This way you are guaranteed to get their CS. This is the premier league we are talking about and anyone can score against anyone. I've experienced this when I tried Gk rotation. I kept on rotating the GK's depending on fixtures but kept benching the wrong one. I perhaps got one CS in 6/7 games, but if I had stuck with one, I would have had perhaps 4/5. I think the mistakes are made on fpl in defense when people chop and change their defenders each week chasing the CS's. Choose good defenders from good teams and be patient with them and they will get you CS, often in games you don't expect.

Having Alderweireld, Bellerin, Cresswell, Daniels & Williams is a bit too much money spent on defender isnt it?

Im thinking of downgrading Williams to a cheap but reliable and sure starter DF to save some money.

    Any suggestion?

What else are we going to use that spare 5/6mil in the bank for 😉

The best way to get a good score each week this season is to analyze the stats and do the opposite.

Take a random player with dreadful fixtures, preferably near the relegation zone and rake in the points

Computers looks at stats and predict scores, they said Aguero and Kane would score well...

Alli ----> Payet too sideways or worth it considering City have defensive injury woes?

      Worth it imo

I too have Alli and have been thinking when to get Payet in. Alli's fixtures are just too tasty for me ATM to get rid. My plan ATM is to use a ft this week, transferring player x to slightly cheaper player y (perhaps KDB to Silva), thus creating a bit of leighway for potential Payet price rises this week. I will keep Alli for his next game, avoid Payet for his vs City, then reassess after next GW.

      I think it's a red herring

If Man City do well away, KDB will do well away. It's the team that are struggling on the road, not a few individual players

His is just simply awful on the road.
        No excuses.

I've been consciously benching him for a few away games now.
Would like to get rid for the Everton mid but no options except numb Barkley.
