The reduced number of weekend fixtures means there’s less options on the table for our 15-man FantasyBet squads, though with Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero not around to take up a chunk of the budget, it’s an easy week to fit in the leading candidates from the remaining 16 teams.
FantasyBet’s biggest pot so far arrives this weekend and it’s still possible to enter a team into the £2,000 pot for an £11 entry fee. There are currently less than 100 entries so it’s worth getting involved to potentially benefit from the overlay, considering that the top prize is over £500.
If you are unfamiliar with FantasyBet it is particularly accessible for those who play Fantasy Premier League, as it uses a similar scoring system.
Check out this daily and weekly fantasy guide to see how the game works.

KEY PICKS
Ben Foster: The fit-again stopper has already kept two clean sheets in his four appearances since ousting Boaz Myhill, who managed only two shut-outs in his last 13 appearances before dropping to the bench. Foster’s tally of 18 saves over that period also highlights his ability to pick up points should the Baggies concede at home to a Palace side with just four goals in their last nine matches.
Christian Fuchs: It’s difficult to see past a win to nil for Leicester at home to Norwich, bearing in mind that the Canaries have scored once in four away ties while leaking 11 goals. Claudio Ranieri has engineered four consecutive clean sheets at the King Power and full-back Fuchs looks the most likely of the Foxes defenders to pick up attacking points.
Christian Eriksen: Overshadowed at times by the cut-price Dele Alli, the Dane is finally starting to justify his loftier valuation with a series of consist displays. With three goals and as many assists in his last six appearances, Eriksen makes a strong case for inclusion ahead of Swansea’s visit to White Hart Lane.
Diego Costa: Southampton’s chances of a seventh straight clean sheet may well depend on whether they can keep Chelsea’s in-form striker quiet at St Mary’s tomorrow. With seven goals and three assists in eight league appearances, Costa’s impressive form is too good for me to ignore.
THIS WEEKS GAME PICKS
The big event this weekend is the Double Grand contest with a minimum prize pool of £2000.
If you’re new to FantasyBet you can start out by setting up teams in the free-rolls – there is a £50 pot available for this Gameweek in both the standard and flash formats.
For the six Saturday fixtures, there’s a Double-Up game for £3.30 entry with a guaranteed prize pool of £120. Multiple entries are available.
There’s a £200 contest this week for the two Sunday fixtures with a £5.50 buy-in.
LAST WEEK
It was a low-scoring round in general with little luck heading my way. Backing Romelu Lukaku with the captaincy proving to be my main downfall – this left me on just under £160 and hoping for some fortune in the big pot this weekend. Batista took top place in the Grand weekend game with 79 points; Diego Costa picked up 18 points with the armband, while Chelsea team-mate Willian’s 13 point-haul mirrored that of Dimitri Payet. A solid defence also contributed to the win, with all four of Batista’s back-line securing six points or more.
THIS WEEK’S STAKE
I’m entering the Double Grand contest, the Saturday Double-Up, the free-rolls and, of course, entering a team into the FFScout Picks League for a total outlay of £14.40.
In addition, I’ll be going up against Oghash, the Community champion in this week’s Scout Picks. He will be taking me on in a specially set up head to head game for a chance to win free entry into a £500 Guaranteed ‘Big Weekly’ game worth £22. Also the eligible Community Champion who beats the Scout Picks by the highest margin every month will win a free entry into the £600 guaranteed ‘Boss’ game worth £55.
FFSCOUT PICKS LEAGUE
Globehopper topped the Scout Picks League with a score of 82 points in the previous Gameweek. Captaining Philippe Coutinho delivering a massive 30 points, while Willian (13) and Virgil Van Dijk (nine) were the stand-out picks elsewhere.
Once again, FantasyBet have provided a £100 pot for the FFScout Picks League with a £1.10 stake for entry – it is now possible to enter two teams into this contest. I will enter our Scout Picks as closely as possible, given a 15-man squad is required with the 100m budget and a captain also needs to be selected.
Feel free to go up against them this week and pick your own squad on FantasyBet.
