Double Gameweeks 34 and 37 Announced

The Premier League have announced a number of rearranged fixtures this afternoon, affording Fantasy managers plenty of time to now plan and prepare around the upcoming double Gameweeks 34 and 37.

Gameweek 34

The following fixtures were previously postponed due to domestic cup matches but have now been added:

Tuesday, April 19 – Newcastle vs Man City

Wednesday, April 20 – Liverpool vs Everton, Man United vs Crystal Palace, West Ham vs Watford,

Thursday, April 21 – Arsenal vs West Brom.

Gameweek 37

The following fixtures were previously postponed due to domestic cup matches but have now been added:

Tuesday, May 10 – West Ham vs Man United

Wednesday, May 11 – Liverpool vs Chelsea, Norwich vs Watford, Sunderland vs Everton.

Schedule Re-cap

Long story short, then, five teams – Liverpool, Watford, Everton, West Ham and Man United – have doubles in Gameweek 34 and 37.

United, West Ham, Everton, Palace, Norwich and Watford have no fixture in Gameweek 35, however, due to the FA Cup schedule.

Arsenal, West Brom, Newcastle, Man City and Crystal Palace have one double apiece, in Gameweek 34.

Chelsea, Sunderland and Norwich have one double apiece, in Gameweek 37.

This leaves Everton’s clash with Palace, which was originally pencilled in for Gameweek 35, as the only fixture yet to be rearranged. This is due to the fact that the pair go head-to-head in the FA Cup semi-finals that weekend.

We’ll go into much more detail in future articles but here’s a quick check on what today’s announcement means..

Man City’s trip to Newcastle in Gameweek 34 is preceded by a trip to Chelsea that weekend but the surrounding fixtures are due to promote big investment, with a favourable (WBA, che &new, STO) run between Gameweek 33 and 35.

Newcastle, meanwhile, also host Swansea at St James in Gameweek 34, with a home clash against Palace and trip to Villa in their subsequent three.

United are handed a very promising pair of Gameweek 34 fixtures, with back-to-back home encounters against Villa and Palace. The downside, though, is that they face a blank the following week. Their Gameweek 37 double consists of trips to Norwich and West Ham.

Liverpool look ripe for investment as we prepare for our wildcards, with their schedule from Gameweek 33 onwards (STO, bou & EVE, NEW, swa, WAT & CHE, wba) looking very promising.

In addition to their two doubles and yet-to-be-schedule clash with Palace, Everton also host Southampton, Bournemouth and Norwich in the final five Gameweeks.

Arsenal, meanwhile, play twice at the Emirates in Gameweek 34, as Palace and West Brom pay visit. The Baggies precede their trip to north London with a home match against Watford.

Palace’s double in Gameweek 34 (ars, mun) will struggle to persuade many suitors, though that game in hand against Everton could come in handy further down the line.

West Ham’s trip to Leicester in Gameweek 34 has now been softened by a home encounter with Watford in the same round of fixtures. Like United, they then blank the following week but a pair of home matches in Gameweek 37 (SWA, MUN) is bound to see significant investment, bearing in mind that these are the Hammers’ final two matches at Upton Park before moving ground in the summer.

Watford hit the road in all four of their double fixtures – Gameweek 34 (wba, whu), Gameweek 37 (liv, nor) – and also blank in Gameweek 35. Chelsea also play twice in their double Gameweek 37, making their way to Sunderland and Liverpool.

Elsewhere in Gameweek 37, relegation candidates Norwich (MUN, WAT) and Sunderland (CHE, EVE) are both handed home matches that look vital to their survival hopes.

*We’ll be updating our fixture ticker later today in light of the news and roll out Scouting the Doubles articles nearer the time.

So, i'm lagging a bit behing in my league, about 60 points of the top. I have pretty similar teams to my rivals so thinking about doing this to just to something that might gain me some points (Most of them have used WC, DWG and TC, i have all mine left).
With a few hits in the coming weeks i can get a team with about 12 DGWs and som quality SGWs, but that team has quite a few United, West Ham and Everton players (something in the lines of Lukaku, Mori, Smalling, Lingard (will he play?), Martial, Payet and Antonio. Maybe even try to make room for De Gea). They have decent fixtures and blanks in GW 35 so most other players won't have (all of) them on the team. So i play BB in GW 34, then WC in 35 with GW 37 in the back of my mind and then TC in GW 37 on Payet or some other in-form DWG player.
    Thoughts?
If Palace - Everton gets rearranged to GW 35 this plan might not work out too well. Also the rotation at the back of United makes it impossible/a gamble to get real DGW bargains there. As I see it, United and Arsenal are the only teams with good DWG matchups in 34 for defensive players.

If you're 60pts behind and have BB and TC and your rivals don't then you're probably 50/50 to win your ML if you have similar teams. If you BB a DGW when you can get 12 or 13 players out who have DGW, then at minimum that's going to net you an extra 30pts they won't get. TC might get you an extra 10-15pts too if you play it during a DGW.

If I were you I'd say the defining part of your league will be who copes with 35 the best.

Yes, thank you for your input.I'm thinking BB in 34 with a decent number of DGW players, and maybe even more quality players than my rivals, and then WC in 35 would be better than just stacking up 15 DWGs in 34 with wildcard in 33.

Personally (and I'm chasing too, roughly 50pts off top) my plan is to use FTs to build a good-enough DGW team in 34. I can get 8 or 9 DGW players for 34 without hits which also gives me a very solid 11 for 35, again without hits. I see lots lining up Moreno, Migs, Robles etc but I don't see Liverpool or Everton keeping CS in their DGW in 34 so I'd rather field a Spurs defender and, given I already have one, it's swaying my decision to a later WC.

So, for me, WC 36 to get in 15x DGW in 37 seems to be best use of my chips. Seeing everyone else going for WC33 BB34 too makes me think this is a more viable way to chase.

Hmm, this is an alternative for me aswell, but with similar teams to my rivals that could leave me still trailing by 60 after 35. Offcourse that depends on transfers for the next few weeks and performance of the players we do not "share". Furthermore I should then play my TC in 34 but i don't see too many good options here..

I agree on the defence is the hardest part in 34, can only se Untied and Arenal potentialy holding 2 CS. Going with Bellerin - Toby - and then i have no clue about the rest.

Doensn't matter at what part of the season you're trailing, only thing that matters is if they're catchable by the end of GW38.

I've settled on a Hart, Monreal, Rojo, Toby defence for 34 with Sanchez as TC. Yes, it's a big punt, but his ownership is low, so if for some unknown reason he go crazy then that's going to be 60pts from one player alone that other players won't have. I already have Aguero so any damage he does in 34 if people captain him (assuming they play BB in 34) is limited.

Forced hand though because my rival has a 50pt lead and his chips still in tact, so I have to roll the dice.

Asked a hundred times already I'm sure but I was wondering how many sgw players (week 33 wc + week 34 bb) people were planning to have in gw34. Who are the really key 'keepers', e.g. Mahrez etc??

Well, I'm eyeing up a 36 WC for a 37 BB because I can field a good 34 team without hits. Planning on playing Toby, Mahrez and Kane in 34, so 8 DGW players. I could field more but I think for example Toby is likely to score more than Moreno would, despite the latters DGW.

82 points behind the leader in a league though he doesn't have WC left.

    Squad:

    Hart
    Fuchs - Smalling - AlderW
    Wijnaldum - Firmino - Mahrez - Alli - Arnautovic
    Kane - Aguero
Bench: DeGea - Targett - Ward - Defoe

    Thinking to go for:

W31 Kane -> Rondon (dont like it but seems to be in great form)
    W32 Defoe -> Lukaku
    W33 Arnautovic - Özil

By so should have 9 DW's for W34 and somehow manage through the W35 and by so save the WC for W37. Or should I just WC33

Technical question: if you have two free transfers at the point you play your wildcard, will you have two free transfers the following week? Thanks.

41 behind first place in my league who has used wildcard and TC 🙂

      My plan is;

      15 DGW's in 34 with bench boost
11 Players in 35 blank week
and then fielding another strong 11 double gamekeepers in 37 with a TC

Does anybody want to explain why wildcarding in 36 is better than 33? I prefer the fixtures in 34 and can field 11 in 35 for it to not be a worry.

I also worry that by 37 a lot of games could be dead rubber in which rotation could occur, whereas in 34 a lot of the big teams will feel they are still in it

Going to use my AOA chip this week I think as there's no real standout games at the back and I have 5 100% mids, 3 100% strikers to play.

Which two defenders would you play?

      A) Van Dijk (LIV H)
      B) Huth (CRY A)
      C) Azpi (WHU H)
      D) Moreno (SOU A)
      E) Wollschied (WAT A)

I don't know how to deal with coming DGW.

      My current squad

      Butland (McCarthy)
      Bellerin Simpson Alderweireld (Daniels, Targett)
      Mahrez Silva Alli Payet (Lingard)
      Vardy Aguero Kane

I will use this line up in GW 31 and gonna save my FT for next GW. I still got WC, TC and All Out Attack Chip.

Please kindly advise me. Thank you Managers!
