Yes, that’s right, crazy talk. There’s a lot of it about in this week’s ScoutCast episode – most of it originating from Mark’s chattering. Transfer in three defenders for a four point hit? Spend big money on Leighton Baines, dumping last season’s top Fantasy scorer? Has he finally lost the plot?

This is what an international break does to you. Suffering from cold turkey and with two free transfers burning away in the pocket, a Fantasy manager has to fight the jerky knee. In my own moment of madness, I even find myself trying to talk Mark out of his hasty moves.

Listen in on the lunacy, accompanied by the usual regulars, accompanied with another excavation of that Robin Van Persie assist – we just won’t let it lie.

Who to play this w/e, Moses or Sinclair? Moses currently getting the nod due to fixtures. I got a feeling...

Ref for the united game, likes to give pens. But I would never bench moses in that situation. The possible glory of being one of the lucky ones to get more than 2 pts from him is just too much 😀

True, but against MUN at OT? Last chance (and I mean last chance) for Moses this w/e. In truth he probably goes regardless...

Even though Swansea play (MUN) and Wigan have (BLA)? Martinez has to view this game as a must win to have half a chance of staying up, Blackburn are leaky at the back, and Moses is more than due some points given his performances. Despite Sinclair being on pens, I'm swaying towards the big M.

Right this is the provisional team taking shape in my thoughts. No 3-4-3 this week, 3-5-2 to deal with the lack of striker options. I have set the subs up to drop into 3-4-3 if VDV is missing and Balotelli plays. Eviscerate!!

    Vorm
    Enrique | Assou-Ekotto | Wilkinson
    Silva | Nani | Ramsey | Eagles | VDV
    RVP | Sturridge

Subs: Schwarzer, Balotelli, N Taylor, R Taylor

Would you consider having Belotelli in instead of sturridge. If he doesn't play then Sturridge can be first off the bench

I actually had Balotelli as my first choice but I thought my team looked a bit ridiculous with only one guaranteed starter. Still, yes, if Balo plays I think he will outscore Sturridge. But will he play?

    Vorm (Given)

Kompany - Jose Enrique - Brown (N Taylor - Ward)

Moses - Silva - Drenthe - Van Der Vaart (Ramsey)

    Van Persie - Bendtner (C) - Sturridge

All my free transfers are completed but unsure of my substitution and captain choices. Help would be massively appreciated 🙂

Found some interesting stats on Wayne Rooney's positions this season, courtesy of bpfootball.

Stat (average per game)- As striker/as midfielder

    Touches 62/78.5

    Passes (acc) 63 (81%)/ 65 (83%)

    Shots 4/ 1.5

    Key passes 2/0

United have also taken almost half the amount of shots they were per game since Rooney's move, with the amount of shots conceded down from 19 to 14. United are also yet to concede with Rooney in midfield, and have scored twice themselves.

Suggests to me Rooney isn't having the influence Fergie may have expected him to have, and shows united's attacking threat has been severely weakened following the change of position.

After the 6-1, Fergie couldn't give a shit how many we score, just that we don't concede. He actually said we need a few 1-0s after the fireworks of the early season.

I've watched both games he played in midfield, and he was the most influential player on the pitch in both.

Rooney dropping back may help united win games - at the price of scoring less - but it's curtains for his fantasy returns. Let's not confuse team form with individual fantasy form - they're quite different. Until Rooney is back up front/in the hole I can't see why he can ever be considered as an FPL forward.

I'll be handing Mr Suarez his P45 this weekend and I've been searching for for a suitably priced candidate at 7.5 or under to enable the recruitment of Mr VDV next week. Easier said than done however.

Ba - fixtures...Agbonlahor - fixtures/injury...Sturridge - possibly, but not entirely convinced...Wellbeck - bit disapointing...Bendtner - God forbid...etc, etc, etc. Time for Plan B; VDV will need to wait another week.

I've already got Silva and Aguero so perhaps I've been overlooking the bloody obvious - Edin Dzeko. He's the 2nd highest scorer in the game overall, he's the PPG leader by a comfortable margin, he's also bang up there in the two Value stats and the Form ranking. He's also absolutely incredible value at 8.5m. Considering his exploits thus far, he's unbelievably the same price he was at the start of the season, and he's actually 0.4m lower than he was a couple of months ago! What price would he be if the FPL prices were recalculated now? At least 10m, possibly 10.5m. I don't believe it would be Manchester City overkill either. By and large everything goes through this trio and they are preceded only by RVP at the top of the charts.

    Care to join me?

I've been there and I warn you we all know perfectly well why he's not more popular - rotation. You just can't count on him getting you points on any particular week. The 4 goal match earlier this season helps him appear so high in the standings, he's still good points but you must be patient and able to see out no-shows. I got him in after the 4 goals and went on a barren 4-5 GW run when he did bugger all and it seemed it would continue. Also rge game may have changed mow with the emergence of Balotelli as a PL force. Proceed with extreme caution.

Very good team, as much as I want to say take Suarez out only realistic replacements for price are Hernandez or Bent Best best might be to upgrade Tiote to O'Hara/Eagles and if you're prepared to take the 4 point hit and go with Eagles, maybe Simps for Raylor, due to Raylor#s higher goal/assist possibility.

I am quite sure Suarez "said something" to Evra as he has admitted as much, as he said:

"There were two parts of the discussion, one in Spanish, one in English. I did not insult him. It was just a way of expressing myself. I called him something his team-mates at Manchester call him, and even they were surprised by his reaction."

It's down to the courts and all that malarky 🙁

Suarez is such an idiot speaking about the case, if he did do it I hope he gets a ban as lengthy as Rio got for missing the drugs test.

Though there was more evidence against John Terry but I wait with bated breath for the FA to throw the book at their captain.

If it's on video evidence then is there possibly any footage already released showing Suarez speaking to Evra for us to look at? Right now everyone outside the loop has nothing to go on and it's classic my word against yours. The impression I get is that Suarez is supposed to have called Evra a two-word phrase with a five-letter word beginning with b and a four letter word beginning with c. I think it's idiotic of him to think it's okay to call him that even if he claims Evra's teammates did (he could be making this up). Because this stuff is dependent on context - with mates it makes weird sense but not with strangers, let alone enemies! But don't expect such subtleties from a man who handballed on the line and bit an opponent. He's a talented headcase.

Isacki i'm debating the same - defense presently Simpson & R.taylor (both away vs city), N. Taylor (home vs united), Hutton (who i'm planning to sell for either P. Jones or Vermaelen), Walker (home to Villa). I'm going to prob go with Walker, N.Taylor and the new defender

Mmmm there really aren't safe defensive choices this week You'd say it's more likely than not NTaylor and RTaylor don't get CS. Maybe 50/50 on a Walker CS. So I know it's also a gamble for me to go Vorm and NTaylor. My alternatives are Enrique, R Taylor, Wilkinson, Bosingwa (gonna go). Which three defs look best?
