Years ago, this site was but a small, intimate little affair with a sprightly host and never to be forgotten posters, with names like Necromancer, Puffin Boy and Yer Dad. On those pages, in a dark recess, lived a precious little list entitled the “Suspension Tightrope”, where the poor and damned were outed and their misdemeanors listed for all to see.

As this site has grown and grown, inevitably some of the old favourites were left behind, to be replaced by new shiny and fancy widgets. The “tightrope†found itself discarded – names like Ferguson, Keane, Vieira, Reo-Coker, Palacios, no longer had their name in lights.

Now however, it’s time to roll back the years.

For ScoutCast listeners, this wont be so much of a shock, but for anyone who failed to tune in to Mark and Granville’s dulcet tones earlier in the week, let me introduce myself. I’m Anorak and I’ve been resurrecting the Suspension Tightrope over the last year or so. Now the time has finally come to bring it back to the Fantasy Football Scout homepage. Next week we’ll see the widget return in the sidebar – for now, you’ll have to make do with my first round-up.

Saturday’s update sees no fewer than 22 yellows dished out across the games, with two of those combining into an unfortunate red for our first name on the ban list this weekend – Blackburn’s David Dunn. A pair of yellows means a one-match ban to be served in Gameweek 13. Joining him for a one week soiree on the suspension list, we have QPR’s Joey Barton and the Wolves pair of Stephen Hunt and Jamie O’Hara ; all three picked up their fifth yellows of the season today. That quartet replace Blackburn’s Jason Lowe and Seb Larsson of Sunderland who have both served their Gameweek 12 punishment; the FA charge for Antolin Alcaraz means he remains out of the picture.

Banned players for Gameweek 13: David Dunn, Joey Barton, Antolin Alcaraz, Stephen Hunt, Jamie O’Hara

As a couple of names move off the tightrope, they are immediately replaced. First up, fresh from his action packed afternoon is Ryan Shawcross, he picked up his fourth in the 3-2 defeat to QPR. Joining him with the same card count is Lee Cattermole. Two names who are no stranger to suspension tightrope.

Current Suspension Tightrope : Gabby Agbonlahor, Frank Lampard, John Terry, Brede Hangeland, Steve Sidwell, Gareth Barry, Ryan Shawcross, Glen Whelan, Lee Cattermole, Richard Stearman.

We’ll round things up again following Monday’s game, as Gameweek 12 concludes.

Sess has not delivered all season, so I think that you had too high expectations. Drenthe will probably be worth his 6.0 easy. Still time for that to happen.

That's the problem when you don't have a cheap midfielder... You really need to get an Allen or Dyer in that midfield. No point having to bench a 5.5m+ player every week. Having said that, I would bench Brunt.

To the MUN guys - any idea how secure P Jones is for a starting slot? Concerned that when Smalling is back he'll be fighting it out with Smalling/Rafael for the RB slot and Vidic/Rio for the CB lot.

Looking at getting him in but don't want a rotation risk for 6.2m....

I am personally getting rid for that reason. Have had him for 2 weeks now since Kompany got injured and am now looking to downgrade to Brown to fund Lampard.
He is first choice, and a decent pick, however he won't play every game, just don't have the room for him

Great timing on bringing him in. Lampard could have a field day against WOL next week, but then 3 of his next 4 are tough so wouldn't expect huge scores there. I'm looking at Lamps from GW21 when I wildcard.

Any suggestions for my moves this week? 2 freebies and 1.0m in the bank:

        Westwood
        Brown, Wilkinson,, Woodgate

Best options? Thinking I need some MUN coverage (Jones?) but that only leaves me with 4.7m for Woody's replacement - he's out of favour on here, but rotates well with Wilko/Brown and is a bit of a goal threat.....Ward (WOL)?

Alternative is to get some MUN attacking coverage. Aguero -> Chica the likely move.

Wouldn't advice against Ward - they don't do many cleanies but he has got some attacking potential.
Actually, i'd look to get in Rangel and Jones/Richards.
You have no Swansea defence and they are all brilliant value - plus Rangel's attacking threat.
Richards doesnt have the fixtures, but City are still solid defensively and he has had a hand in twice as many goals as any other defender.

I think you've got to rid now or keep him for the whole break when his form might pick up.

I'd rather have Roo/Lamps/Baines who are more indispensable for their squads.

Hoping he doesn't get a Yellow today, an epically stupid transfer though on my part. Just one of those impulse transfers before i changed my mind.

In fairness for people wondering about binning Rooney.

I WC'd last week and had Rooney and benched him for yesterday 😮

It was a last minute decision but decided I didn't want Ramsey on the bench against Norwich (which didn't pay off).

Basically had a team of Sess, VDV, Walters, Ramsey, Milner, Van Persie, Bendtner, Rooney

Ramsey was benched and then I read the scout picks and it made me question, was happy with everyone else as all at home, playing pretty poor opposition, (or in Milner's case, playing for City in the Silva position and he's been very effective when playing).

I just didn't expect Rooney to pick up much away at Swansea, although as the other games progressed I assumed I'd made a massive mistake as even one assist would have beat a load of mine 😀

The big weeks for Rooney are the ones coming up anyway, rather than yesterday.
