Years ago, this site was but a small, intimate little affair with a sprightly host and never to be forgotten posters, with names like Necromancer, Puffin Boy and Yer Dad. On those pages, in a dark recess, lived a precious little list entitled the “Suspension Tightrope”, where the poor and damned were outed and their misdemeanors listed for all to see.

As this site has grown and grown, inevitably some of the old favourites were left behind, to be replaced by new shiny and fancy widgets. The “tightrope” found itself discarded – names like Ferguson, Keane, Vieira, Reo-Coker, Palacios, no longer had their name in lights.

Now however, it’s time to roll back the years.

For ScoutCast listeners, this wont be so much of a shock, but for anyone who failed to tune in to Mark and Granville’s dulcet tones earlier in the week, let me introduce myself. I’m Anorak and I’ve been resurrecting the Suspension Tightrope over the last year or so. Now the time has finally come to bring it back to the Fantasy Football Scout homepage. Next week we’ll see the widget return in the sidebar – for now, you’ll have to make do with my first round-up.

Saturday’s update sees no fewer than 22 yellows dished out across the games, with two of those combining into an unfortunate red for our first name on the ban list this weekend – Blackburn’s David Dunn. A pair of yellows means a one-match ban to be served in Gameweek 13. Joining him for a one week soiree on the suspension list, we have QPR’s Joey Barton and the Wolves pair of Stephen Hunt and Jamie O’Hara ; all three picked up their fifth yellows of the season today. That quartet replace Blackburn’s Jason Lowe and Seb Larsson of Sunderland who have both served their Gameweek 12 punishment; the FA charge for Antolin Alcaraz means he remains out of the picture.

Banned players for Gameweek 13: David Dunn, Joey Barton, Antolin Alcaraz, Stephen Hunt, Jamie O’Hara

As a couple of names move off the tightrope, they are immediately replaced. First up, fresh from his action packed afternoon is Ryan Shawcross, he picked up his fourth in the 3-2 defeat to QPR. Joining him with the same card count is Lee Cattermole. Two names who are no stranger to suspension tightrope.

Current Suspension Tightrope : Gabby Agbonlahor, Frank Lampard, John Terry, Brede Hangeland, Steve Sidwell, Gareth Barry, Ryan Shawcross, Glen Whelan, Lee Cattermole, Richard Stearman.

We’ll round things up again following Monday’s game, as Gameweek 12 concludes.

    Given, Vorm
    Kompany, Enrique, BAE, Simpson, De Laet
    Dyer, Silva, VDV, Walters, Drenthe
    RVP, Rooney, Sturridge

    0.8 in bank, 1FT.

    My defence looks bad for next week and I got 12M stuck in rooney. Shall I do:

    1 - De Laet--->Gabiddon/Wilko
    2 - Given--->Ruddy (free up some wonga)
    3 - Rooney---> Hernandez (Jones in week after)
    4 - Any combo for a -4

          Simple solution - Kompany, Enrique, BAE

          Hard to know with Rooney, Hernandez could be a good option.

    Fair point.I just think Traore was overpriced even when at Arsenal, considering he never played, in a team with regardless of status had an awful defense.

    If Suarez deosn't get a good return this week I'm thinking of shipping him for Helguson. Additional funds will also allow Phil Jones in for Boyata and Walters in for Bradley Johnson. Thoughts?
