So near and yet so far. Last weekend in the Fantasy Flutter, we backed the Scout Picks by putting faith in Leighton Baines and, although he came up trumps with a goal and an assist, our money went on the wrong market – we went for a free-kick goal.

Baines joins a host of familiar Fantasy names in this week’s lineup. If he can come good again when he visits the Reebok, we could yet wipe the smile from Paddy’s face. Let’s see what our bookmaker friends have laid out for us this weekend.

We start at the back, with Baines represented in the “Flutter” for a second consecutive week. This time around we can get 25/1 on a repeat goal and assist showing, or 10/1 on a dead-ball goal. We’ll take the latter, placing £1 of this week’s funds on Baines to deliver as David Moyes’ side look for back-to-back wins.

Norwich City’s Anthony Pilkington was just edged out in the Scout Picks this week, with team-mate Steve Morison getting the nod on our bench. Despite that, Pilkington will be well fancied by plenty of Fantasy managers going into the Carrow Road meeting with QPR, and Paddy are offering three tempting bets to back the former Huddersfield man. Pilkington has been amongst the goals this season and, although Paddy have 10/1 on the winger repeating his stunning free-kick goal at Villa Park, we’ll take £2 on the more modest 5/2 on an anytime goal.

Gareth Bale is one player firmly settled in our Scout Pick lineup this week. Having returned two assists in the 2-0 defeat of Villa on Monday night, Paddy are dangling odds of 16/1 on a repeat showing when Spurs travel to West Brom. We can go with 9/4 on a single assist in the game at the Hawthorns, but we see the Welshman continuing his outstanding form with a goal and assist combination – throwing £2 Paddy’s way with odds of 12/1 on offer.

Our final single player bet this week finds us looking to Swansea’s Scott Sinclair for the third time this season in the “Flutter”. So far, the winger has fetched us winnings on both occasions – so we go into Swansea’s meet with Villa hoping for a hat-trick of wins. We can play safe here, and take up Paddy’s offer of 3/1 on an assist, but we’ll show a little more ambition and back Sinclair for a dead-ball goal with 13/2 on offer. Sinclair claims £3 of this week’s stake.

That leaves a couple of quid to throw at our “Score the Most Goals” market, with three goalscoring midfielders going head-to-head. Both Frank Lampard and Rafael Van der Vaart are well fancied by Paddy here, so we’ll back the underdog with our final £2 – going with Theo Walcott at 5/2 to be amongst the goals and outscore the other pairing, when he meets Fulham at the Emirates.

Money Back Special

Staying with the Arsenal vs Fulham clash in North London, Paddy are offering to refund all first/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast single bets on the match if Robin Van Persie scores the first goal of the game.
