Monday’s final Euro 2016 tie sees Fifa’s second highest ranked side Belgium square up to 2012 Euros finalist Italy.

Both sides come into the match in confident mood having topped their qualifying groups and ending their pre-tournament friendly preparations unbeaten. While Belgium defeated Norway 3-2 and drew 1-1 with Finland, Italy recorded wins against Scotland and Finland.

Marc Wilmots’ team are set to rely heavily on Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, who created more chances than any other player during qualification. Along with Chelsea’s Eden Hazard he was also the Red Devils’ top scorer in qualifying with five goals.

Antonio Conte’s Italy were one of only four sides, alongside England, Austria and Romania, to be undefeated in qualifying. They did this despite not having a regular goal scorer, with Southampton striker Graziano Pelle the Azzuri’s top scorer in qualifying with just three goals.

      I have the same dilemma, I'm switching to Ronaldo. That's pretty much the whole reason I had him in my squad in the first place - as a captaincy safety net. However, I have now come to realise that a forward needs to score twice (goal or assist) to better a defender with a clean sheet.

    Is it not possible to make transfers until the first round of matches is complete? I wanted to transfer in Giaccherini (as was always my plan), but now I'm worried he is going to go up in price, which I can't afford.

        It doesn't sound ludicrous really.

        Griezmann isn't the same player for France where he's played wide. So it's between him and Payet for #10 and Payet can't be dropped.

        Kante is needed in CM so that would leave one slot for Matuidi or Pogba. Matuidi was very good last game so preferring him could make sense too (and also let Pogba know he's not indispensable).

        Coman is the wildcard choice really but has done very well at Bayern. So the reported changes don't sound so outlandish to me.

      Yes, I think that's right. If you haven't made any substitutions yourself any non-playing players would be auto-subbed out, but not if you've made any subs.

    So subbed out Alli and Muller with their 2 point hauls for Dragovic and Guerreiro when playing around with today's subs. Didn't realise you can't reverse the move, even before the deadline... Have I had a shocker or will this pay off!?

    Morning all.

    Not sure what to do with my team - going to miss all the games tomorrow unfortunately so probably need to make a transfer asap.

    Strinic - Dier - Rami - Hector - Lichtsteiner
    Hamsik - Perisic - Matuidi - Gotze - Junzovic
    Morata - Muller - Giroud

    Quite worried about Morata not starting the next game and Matuidi might not be the best option in hindsight. I'm guessing 4 point hits aren't all that viable in such a short game.

    Wildcarding already with potentially rotation in MD3 is also not something I'm hugely thinking about either

      I´d maybe transfer Morata, but otherwise it looks fine. It is too early to start making hits after one game. Next game maybe all of your players score.

      Watch out for news about Perisic though. If he is injured maybe him -> Payet?

        Don't have money for that unfortunately, same with Matuidi to Payet otherwise I'd be tempted.

        You're certainly right about it only being one match so far - not going to knee jerk too much. Morata to Kane perhaps.

            I think the Wales England game is tough to call, but I think there will be goals in it. Any chance Kane won't start that game? Vardy instead?

            Too early to wildcard - I'm thinking maybe for match day 3 when some teams don't have anything to play for; often some big scores in that round.

            I'm thinking about getting Modric in; think he was quite good value. I'd also quite like to add some Belgium in now they've played Italy, but price is a problem.

      Lack of Payet stands out given the form he's in, his dominance of set pieces and the fact he plays Albania. Can't see a simple route to get him though since you already have 3 French players and can't afford Matuidi -> Payet. Don't fancy a hit in this format so I guess you hope he blanks/gets a single assist or something.

      I'd keep Morata, he should still be Spain's number 1 striker.
      Del Bosque is a big fan of him and sees him as Spain's undisputed future striker.

      I'd look at Rami -> Giaccherini to free up a French spot for Payet in for Hamsik / Gotze.. Not sure how viable hits are but if they earn you points they're viable! 😀

      I had a great week 1 and I'm still considering a hit.

      Transfers can't be made until the full round of fixtures has been complete - basically you have a window of opportunity between the games finishing tonight and those starting tomorrow.

    Read this in Oddschecker...

    "Alaba...usually plays at full back for Bayern but he’s a box-to-box midfielder for Austria who makes the most of his licence to bomb forward whenever possible.

    As such, his goalscoring records for club and country are like chalk and cheese. Alaba...has found the net in 11 of his last 27 appearances (0.45 goals per 90 minutes), although it should be pointed out that he’s the designated penalty taker and five of those have arrived from the spot.

    On that basis, bets on David Alaba to score first at 9-1 and anytime at 7-2 should be easy to get on board with...and his personal haul includes goals against Sweden (three times), Republic of Ireland and Switzerland, all of whom are better than Hungary".

    I had a quick glance through Austria's results and I didn't notice many braces or hat-tricks for Alaba so possibly all of his goals have been solitary returns i.e a goal in 40% of his last 27 games. Theoretically, that makes him a 6/4 chance to score against the tournament outsiders today and the 7/2 the Tote and Betfred are currently offering should be gobbled up.

              Well, I've gone for it. But largely by accident, was playing around seeing how my team would look with him and dragovic replacing alli and muller without realising changes can't be reversed... Like most of my fantasy experiences - it's out of my control now! However, the community was pretty certain he was a starter in pre-tournament discussion so let's hope for the best!

      This round is all about 3 players basically - Schär, Giaccherini, Payet. You had all 3 and captained one of them. The high ranking is down to that.

      Question is whether MD2 will be different. The more players that do well the better for you. But if there are another 3 standouts and you don't have them things will quickly change.

      My team was doing OK until Gaccherini, I didn't have Payet but did have Schär captain. So you could say 2 out of 3. Now it's 2 out of 4 and not so good considering this is a very short game. I need one of my players today (Dzuduszak, Januzovic) to go big really to keep me in the game.

      Strategically the very worst thing to do for someone that didn't have those players is to get them in now (if you are trying to win that is). It's too late. You need to be aiming for someone that didn't score big last round but may do in MD2. I am in the market for a 5.0 defender to replace Glik but it therefore can't be Giaccherini (whereas in FPL it certainly would be). 🙂

        I'm not sure, you're running the risk of being left behind as others get in a 5.0 Italian OOP defender on corners..

        I get that you're not going to catch the leaders by copying their players, but I also wouldn't ignore the main ones purely due to them being in the leaders' teams already, especially if his price goes up, as then the leaders might pull away if Giaccherini gets another CS or two and potentially more attacking returns. He was heavily involved last night.

          No, you are thinking like a 38-week FPL season.

          You have to bet that Giaccherini doesn't score again. Anything else is giving your rivals a 12-point start and you can't do that in such a short game. Not if you are trying to win that is.

          It doesn't matter if Italy get clean sheets. Other teams will get clean sheets too.

            Fair enough, I suppose I've made my decision to go without him, there's still a chance he misses the third game (vs Ireland) if Italy are already qualified.. I have Bonucci as a form of "cover" anyway.

              Candreva was very close to my team but I decided to go with Schürrle and I'm still happy with that. I think Candreva is a good option though.

              My transfer for MD2 will be Glik to Fedetskiy in all likelihood. As I said, if it were FPL it would be Glik to Giaccerini. But it isn't FPL. 🙂

    I have re- downloaded the app and logged in do it's defo up to date.

    Not I go to my team page, clicked on a defender, then clicked on one of my players on the bench... Then it moves across. However then I click confirm and the player moves back and the screen comes up with 'team not updated'

    Please help this is sooooo frustrating...
