This evening’s final match sees hosts France take on an Albania side looking for a foothold in the tournament.
While Didier Deschamps’ France achieved a 2-1 victory over Romania in their opening fixture, courtesy of a Dimitri Payet wonder goal, Albania could only muster two shots on target in their 1-0 loss to Switzerland.
This is the first European Championships Gianni De Biasi’s Albania have competed in and they go into this tough fixture without their influential captain Lorik Cana, who was sent off against the Swiss.
Victory for France will ensure progress to the knockout phase, with their first choice striker Olivier Giroud likely to be in confident mood having scored against Romania to make it eight goals in his last six starts for Les Bleus.
If Albania are to achieve a surprise win it is likely to be by a solitary goal. They have never scored more than once in their six matches with France but did achieve a shock 1-0 victory the last time they met a year ago.
