Harry Kane has shown perfect timing.

On the day that saw Sergio Aguero and Romelu Lukaku frustrate 40% of Fantasy Premier League managers, the Spurs striker stepped up to deliver a first double-figure haul and underline his undeniable potential as a game-changer.

Five goals in his last four Premier League starts, albeit broken up by a spell on the sidelines, indicates that Kane is riding a flow of form that can now see him break up the established template in attack.

A prolific Jermain Defoe and Charlie Austin’s improving fixtures will likely ensure that we retain a mid-price option as a third striker – dismissing the idea of squeezing Kane alongside our present heavy hitters.

That will put the heat on Aguero and Lukaku.

The latter went into Gameweek 12 having already seen his increase in ownership slow following his Stamford Bridge blank. Today’s 2-point return, with 11% backing him with the armband, will no doubt spark sales and, in all likelihood, a first decline in the Belgian’s ownership since Gameweek 3.

It’s difficult to gain confidence from Everton’s schedule.

A trip to a resilient Southampton follows for Gameweek 13, with Goodison Park encounters with Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool to follow in the next four.

Lukaku is capable of scoring points in those matches, but can he keep pace with a resurgent Kane?

Despite those doubts, the pressure on Aguero is perhaps even more intense given his price tag, the doubt generated by Guardiola’s tinkering and the seemingly relentless stream of points being delivered by Kevin De Bruyne.

We were ready to fall at Aguero’s feet following his emphatic Hawthorns haul but, two Gameweeks on, the doubts are creeping back.

He let down 29% of FPL managers with the captaincy today and that, against the backdrop of Kane’s brace, will ruffle feathers.

The fee demanded by the Argentine guarantees that we will constantly be fidgeting – he almost has to deliver a goal a game and assure us of consistent returns in order to cement the captaincy and earn his keep.

Turf Moor offers a foreboding venue for Aguero to restore confidence next weekend. Following that, Guardiola’s side will take on Chelsea – Aguero will likely have to earn his opportunities against the Blues’ newly robust defence.

Meanwhile, Kane offers home fixtures with Swansea City, Hull City and Burnley to follow the Gameweek 13 trip to Stamford Bridge.

It’s a scenario that looks perfectly staged.

We bank our transfers, give Lukaku or Aguero next weekend’s run-out and then take action in Gameweek 14 should they falter.

Those trading Aguero can then distribute the significant funds spared – perhaps to consider De Bruyne as a reassuringly expensive midfield option.

Regardless of our current thinking – the masses will now be circling Kane.

With an ownership of just 6%, he provides a potential route back for those managers treading water – a genuinely explosive differential that can be trusted with the armband for that trio of tempting White Hart Lane fixtures.

Those trailing mini-leagues surely have to consider the move, but it’s an unwelcome development for those streaking ahead and settled with a midfield and forward line template. Kane can be a disruptive force that can punish those that sit still.

The bandwagon is moving, and if Costa is the next to slip off the suspension tightrope at the Riverside Stadium, we will need to brace ourselves for some major acceleration.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Heaton Foster
    Pieters Williams Mustafi Amat McAuley
    Allen Hazard Coutinho Firmino Redmond
    Lukaku Aguero Defoe

    2 FTs 1.1m ITB

How does Lukaku, Redmond --> Kane, Stanislas/Snodgrass sounds?

Getting Snodgrass would leave me with 0m ITB while Stanislas would give me 0.1m. Or should I do Williams to Cedric and hope Kane does not rise too much this week.

Mata is a good option but i prefer Siggy in the same price range.

I don't trust their leaky defense and there is not much attacking potential with their fullbacks.

And no way i'm going back to Ibra with Costa and Kane firing.

Tl;dr save. rack up ft and don't get burned by hits

Don't see any of those changes being essential for the coming gw. Fuchs to 5.4 or below would be the only one worth pulling the trigger on, but can wait. I'm on 12(-8) points so am feeling your pain and urge to fix something. Literally anything.

I think in a season that's been unpredictable and have welcomed hits for damage control, it may be time to change to a more patient approach.

Having a shocker of a season and not sure what to do with my FT, 0.2ITB

Playing a 3-5-2 but am being trolled by Anichebe, with Allen suspended that wont be a problem for this coming week.

Concerned about Stones, should I downgrade to upgrade Love?

Currently on 12 points with a -4, and two to play so this week is a write-off :/

    Foster (Jaku)

Stones - Amat Holebas - McAuley - Love

    Firmino - Coutinho - Sanchez - Hazard - Allen

    Aguero - Costa - Anichebe

I would get Cedric from So'ton instead of stones.

        Is cedric nailed?

Was so close to doing Ani(C)hebe 😀

He was prior to injury. Now that hes back, I think hes a cheap way into the the So'ton defence. At 4.9, I think hes a steal.

Great value then yeah, with great fixtures. I've got the goal-machine VvD, otherwise I'd be interested.

            Might even consider doubling up...

Thanks I will consider Cedric, I think Stones needs to go. Do we think Allen is still value at 5.2, or is it worth switching back to Capoue?

I could do Stones to VvD, and Allen to Capoue for a -4?

Capoue has had flattering returns but they keep coming eh. And WAT have nice fixtures. Wouldn't be the worst move. Would be keener to ditch Love than Allen though if I were you, although probably not for a -4.

Do we think Ozil is worth the 9.6? I feel like he can do well, but I could either have something like:

Ozil + Allen (5th mid from when he was cheaper)

    or

Lallana + Siggy (rotating some mid priced assets based on form + fixtures)

If ARS were firing on all cylinders I'd say a big yeah with those fixtures. Been having a look myself. So many other great high-end options in midfield though...

Crazy week just 16 points with Hazard, Alonso, Foster and Evans left. Is lukaku to Kane the wise move, 1.7 in bank ??

I'm not sold on Kane personally. Fixtures are a mixed bag and hasn't looked great bar the penalties imo

What do people make of Lukaku? Blank today at home to Swansea not a good sign and some awful fixtures coming up. Also, for members, look at forwards stats last 4-6 gw.

Personally i'm looking at dropping for Austin, maybe after next weeks matches where they are on opposite sides.
(Aguero and Defoe are my other forwards)

Want to keep double Pool for next week and SUN looks such an enticing matchup that I'm tempted to triple up with Mane and play 3-5-2. This will e my likely formation going from GW15 on, when I bring in Hazard and maybe KDB. Thoughts?

    Allen+Lukaku-> Mane+Anchie

    Sanchez, Walcott, Couts, Firmino, Mane
    Kun, Austin (Anchie)

I wouldn't. Sunderland is improving and Lallana makes them tick who will be out it seems.

Almost the same as mine, but have KdB instead of Wally, and no Kun. You must have gone pretty cheap at the back?!

Triple LIV mids have been a goldmine, and certainly have the fixtures if they can keep it up. Seem to benefit from Lallana being around though - Really hoping he's back soon.
