And so the power shifts once again.

I can barely remember witnessing such upheaval: where we’ve had to re-consider where our big-money is spent and switch our sights, not only due to form, but simply availability.

We started the season coveting Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Then Diego Costa emerged, followed swiftly by Eden Hazard as Chelsea blossomed. Now Harry Kane, with seven goals in five, becomes a priority.

While these players battle for recognition in our squads, Sergio Aguero was considered by most as a mainstay: a factor that required little consideration.

That theory wavered back in Gameweek 3 but today’s events may have changed it for good.

Aguero had not served a suspension until this season. Now he is set to miss at least seven weeks of this campaign before the turn of the year. Few, if any, could have anticipated that.

Hours after the bombshell at the Etihad, Alexis Sanchez then provided his own explosion.

We always knew the dangers: deployed up front by Arsene Wenger, he has always been part of the heavy-hitter debate.

But, with heads turned by Chelsea’s faultless form and the promise from Eden Hazard, some, including this Fantasy manager, chose to lose Sanchez’ special talent, keeping Aguero locked into our attacks.

Now, with the City striker being ejected from squads throughout the land, the sacrifices required to gain the likes of Hazard, Costa and Marcos Alonso – all so alluring with Chelsea’s form and fixtures – no longer apply.

When I showed Sanchez the exit ahead of Gameweek 12, opting to sell Aguero was something I pondered, but quickly dismissed.

Today’s events punished that particular decision. They also force us re-examine the established thinking.

We are so set on Aguero. His place is so cemented in Fantasy Football folkore, the prospect of progressing through a season, or even a period of Gameweeks without him almost seems unthinkable.

But while a saintly Costa is scoring goals and avoiding the booking that will see him serve a one-match ban, we’ve seen Aguero inexplicably become an unreliable hothead.

We can’t begin to fathom how those roles have been reversed. We can only react to what we’ve now been dealt.

While those without Sanchez are denied the convenience of carrying out a like-for-like swap for Aguero, even with the cost of an additional transfer, it will likely prove a popular route.

Acquiring Sanchez no longer comes packaged with such sacrifice now that Aguero is out of the equation, his millions available to us.

In Gameweek 4 we formed plans to sell a suspended Aguero and bring him back two weeks later. This time around the landscape may have changed.

As of today, it seems likely that few will be forgoing Sanchez for Aguero should that decision ever arise again.

Although it’s almost folly to make such predictions in a season that refuses to allow us to settle in our thinking.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Arnoutavic > Sanchez
    Gundogan -> 4.6 (bench fodder)

Just done 3 transfers for a -8 after scoring 85 points from 10 players.

Feels weird but think they make sense

    Evans to Cedric

So how to spend all this lovely Agüero money while drunk on Sanchez captain surplus points.

    A) Kane / Hazard / Fletcher (-8) - creating the template front 7
    B) Kane + Karius (-4) - haven't had a playing goalkeeper for 2 weeks due to Heaton + Jaku...
    C) Kane / Alonso / Cedric (-8) - increases chances of clean sheets over coming weeks
    D) Kane / Eriksen / Alonso (-8) - my hunch & juicy stuff.

Is it worth doing Walcott to Kane will switch from 3-5-2 to 3-4-3

    A. For a -4 this week, walcott has Stoke home & kane has Man Utd away, walcott looks to have the better fixture

    B. Do it with 2 FT next week but lose out on approx 0.3 to 0.4 price changes

90% certain he will be fired. Looks a beaten man and the players look like they're not interested to me. We've seen enough interviews with managers on the brink to know the signs by now, can see Pool absolutely hammering them as well, could be 5 or 6.

        • 12 Years

Yeah. That Pool match, I'm expecting the same. But if they change the manager, they will have 3 great fixtures under someone hopefully more apt, and you know, sometimes there is this new manager effect... 😉

Who would you guess goes first though, Bradley or Bilic? I think both are gone, but the way Swans played, or rather didn't play, against Spurs, I wouldn't be surprised if Bradley was sacked in the morning. A bit the same for Bilic, but Swans are in a deeper crisis, and having just one shot, that from distance and blocked, is outrageous! That said, if Bradley can keep his post for one more match, I think Bilic is the likelier to get fired next week simply because Pool will likely thrash them while Swans should get a point against Sunderland.

    Hi all
So far 1 vote A. First to 3 wins:

    A. Aguero walcott and chadli -> Costa Sanchez and Fer -8
    B. Aguero and chadli -> Costa and siggy -4
    C. Aguero -> Costa

I know the above are extreme but best way to spread kun funds and this would have my team set all way through december with 1 mil itb.
So a quick rip plaster to set up a nice team for the next 4 gameweeks?

Evening guys, current team with £1.3m ITB:

    Foster / Pickford
    Alonso / Walker / Williams / Holebas / A.Smith
Sanchez / Eriksen / Walcott / Siggy / de Roon
    Aguero / Defoe / Austin

I'm thinking Aguero -> Kane for now, which leaves funds for maybe Walcott -> Hazard for the GW after?

Price rises are intense this year. In cases like this it seems like you have to decide what you're doing within a few hours of the first game day or face something near a 0.5 price swing.
