Theo Walcott is likely to miss Arsenal’s clash with Palace. Sunderland stopper Jordan Pickford is out for six-to-eight weeks with a knee problem, while Philippe Coutinho remains unavailable as Liverpool entertain Man City.

Here’s the latest team news ahead of tonight’s Gameweek 19 deadline.

Arsene Wenger has conceded that he doesn’t expect Theo Walcott to recover from a calf complaint in time for Arsenal’s clash with Palace. Kieran Gibbs is also likely to miss out, though Danny Welbeck and Shkodran Mustafi are both back in contention. The Gunners boss also admitted that he has “one or two uncertainties with flu”, though failed to elaborate.

Liverpool pair Philippe Coutinho and Joel Matip remain sidelined for the New Year’s Eve clash with Man City, with Jurgen Klopp conceding he’s “pretty sure” the Brazilian will also miss the Gameweek 20 clash against Sunderland two days’ later.

Jordan Pickford has been ruled out for six-to-eight weeks after straining knee ligaments in Sunderland’s loss at Old Trafford. David Moyes has confirmed that Jack Rodwell, Javier Manquillo and Steven Pienaar have resumed light training – all three are unlikely to start, though have a chance of making the bench.

Claudio Ranieri is hopeful that Danny Drinkwater will be fit enough to start at home to West Ham. The Leicester boss also hinted at a first-team return for Riyad Mahrez after utilising the Algerian as a sub against Everton last time out.

Nathan Redmond serves a one-match suspension as Southampton take on West Brom. Claude Puel will assess the fitness levels of his players as they prepare for the second of three matches over a five-day stretch.

Swansea’s Jefferson Montero is expected to be sidelined for up to a month with the hamstring injury that forced him off against West Ham.

Watford pair Daryl Janmaat and Valon Behrami could be out for up to three weeks with the knocks that forced them off against Palace on Boxing Day.

Maarten Stekelenburg and James McCarthy are both still ruled out through injury, while Bryan Oviedo joins them on the sidelines as Everton make their way to Hull in the first match of Gameweek 19 this evening.

Jeff Hendrick is suspended for Burnley’s clash with Sunderland, while fellow midfielder Dean Marney will be assessed after picking up a knock.

Hull’s Abel Hernandez is back in training following a hernia operation but remains around two weeks away from a return.

Viktor Fischer is Middlesbrough’s only injury absentee for the trip to Old Trafford, while Antonio Barragan is set to serve a one-match suspension.

Manuel Lanzini is back in training but remains a slight for West Ham due to a rib injury. Pedro Obiang is available after serving a one-match suspension, though James Collins remains sidelined, with Slaven Bilic expecting the Welshman back next week.

Mark Hughes has revealed that Phil Bardsley has returned to training and could be rushed back into action due to a lack of defensive options for Stoke’s trip to the Bridge. Marc Muniesa and Geoff Cameron remain sidelined through injury.

Marc Pugh and Lewis Cook are Bournemouth’s only absentees for the trip to Swansea, Eddie Howe has confirmed.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of this evening’s 7pm deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from Friday’s press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly to keep you informed.

If I were a footballer, I'd go and just reap the rewards for the few months it lasted. Tevez is on 600k A WEEK (!!). Oscar is off. Many others already have gone.

Year, but they're all more like the players looking for one last payday types, like the sort that go to the MLS for the last year or two.

Anzi was mega-rich...Samuel Eto'o went there "in his prime" for silly wages, even though the football was crap and the crowd was pretty racist.

Been a bit part player at Chelsea for many years.

Not exactly the best player in the team or the league.

If there's one player who should go, it's Rooney...they can't keep paying him £250k a week to sit on the bench...time to flush!

Going off the quality of Russian CL teams like Zenit and Locomotiv/Dynamo Moscow...I can imagine it's on par with SPL 😉

Zenit are ranked 18th in Europe and have recently one a European trophy.

The Russian PL is ranked 7th in Europe, ahead of the SPL, down in 23rd...

Nope, it's a number of clubs involved and they've realised the only way to attract big talent is to pay through the nose.

The fees on offer are outrageous, but they're very clearly committed to trying to step up football there. All it will take is one or two of the real world stars of football to move and things could all change.

There are a lot of very rich people in China interested in developing football there, as well as using it as a tool to promote their cities.

Similar to what happened in the early years of the PL, big money being forked out to attract old players to an inferior league.

The Arab states are mega-rich too...but their leagues never really took off

they weren't interested enough in developing their leagues, more interested in building global financial centres etc.. or purchasing overseas football teams.

      First is a toss up.

Amat unlikely to play but less chance of conceding.
Holebas guaranteed to start and attacking potential, although high chance of conceding.

      Captain Costa.

Zlatan owner here and I captained him for his Sunderland haul so this isn't scare-mongering...

Are we concerned about Zlatan's minutes this weekend? Utd play West Ham away 2 days after 'Boro and I can't see the big Swede completing 90 in both.

Is it more likely he's subbed on the hour-mark against 'Boro in preparation for the (arguably) more difficult fixture against West Ham?

Leaning towards Costa(C) as a I feel he's guaranteed more minutes...

he will only be subbed if game in the bag in which case he would likely to be involved in the points anyways

If Ibra can come off then United will be in a comfortable lead therefore Ibra is probably in the points. Ibra is quite a lazy-ish player anyway and doesn't really exert much energy on the pitch plus without Rooney, no one is waiting in the wings right?

Cant believe i'm asking this but i'm considering holebas to Jones (-4). Would mean i play him this week instead of amat/holebas and is a long-term move. Planned free transfers for the next few weeks so i can't see any time ill be able to make the transfer. Could also wait until next week to do the -4, when ill have the cash to get brunt instead of jones. thoughts?

Wenger has said a few players have have the flu which means they'll be out for both games, most likely. We don't know who it is yet but no pics of Sanchez in training. I hoping for the best but assuming and planning for the worst. So.... Aguero in or not?

            9 years, 6 hours ago

A few, a couple.... not much difference. It could still be Sanchez (could also not). And you don't recover from the flu that quickly. It takes a week or two to recover from so if he doesn't play this GW, he won't be playing next GW either.

Ok, with Kane dropping tonight, and funds tight...some over thought options:

    1. Kane>Costa (free, but no Sergio plan barring min 1 points hit)

    2. Save, then "Kane,Siggy > Aguero,Phillips" tonight after deadline (free)

    3. Save, then "Kane,Siggy,Origi > Aguero,Cabaye,Rondon" tonight (-4)

    4. Save, then "Kane,Siggy,Origi > Aguero,Philips,Rondon" after matches on Saturday (ride out another Kane drop, wait for further info...) (-4)

    5. Save, then "Kane,Siggy > Aguero,Allen" tonight, allowing option of "Origi,Pickford > Rondon,Valdes" after matches (-8)

Thoughts much appreciated. planning for Mane transfer after Sunderland match.
