After clinching the title at West Bromwich Albion on Friday, Antonio Conte makes nine changes to his Chelsea line-up for a home encounter against Watford.

Cesar Azpilicueta then emerges as the Blues’ unlikely Double Gameweek 37 hero, but Eden Hazard fails to take advantage of back-to-back starts.

On the Rise

Cesar Azpilicueta
One of only two Chelsea players to retain their starting berths from Friday’s win at West Brom, the Spaniard is currently the top-scoring player for Double Gameweek 37 on 20 points.

Azpilicueta was shifted out of the back-three and handed a right wing-back berth as Victor Moses was afforded the night off entirely, and he picked a fine time to net his first goal of the season in the 4-3 win over Watford.

With an assist and clean sheet also accrued at The Hawthorns, the versatile defender was the big winner from the Chelsea contingent – only one other team-mate, Michy Batshuayi, managed double-figures (11 points) over the Blues’ pair of fixtures.

Azpilicueta has now served up 30 points in his last three appearances and, with a home clash against Sunderland still to follow, is just seven points behind team-mate Marcos Alonso at the top of the defender standings.

Cesc Fabregas
Named among the subs against the Hornets, the Chelsea playmaker once again highlighted his ability to deliver points from limited pitch-time by emerging from the bench to fire the decisive strike.

As he’s owned by a mere 3% of FPL managers, Fabregas was largely overlooked for the Double Gameweek, yet, like Azpilicueta, he’s upped his output as the season comes to a close – it’s a goal and four assists in five now for the playmaker.

Afforded just 12 minutes off the bench last night, you’d expect him to return to the first XI against the Black Cats, with Conte perhaps now looking to protect N’Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic’s minutes with one eye on the FA Cup final against Arsenal at the end of the month.

In Decline

Eden Hazard
The Belgian was a surprise starter in last night’s seven-goal thriller, but he was unable to get among the points despite playing the full 90 minutes.

Backed by 304,000+ FPL managers with the armband, the 33%-owned Hazard delivered a mere five points across the Blues’ pair of fixtures as his campaign stumbles to a close.

The winger has served up just a single assist in his last four league appearances, scoring once in six top-flight outings ahead of Sunday’s clash with the Black Cats.

As the only attacker to retain his place from the Baggies win, Hazard’s minutes could be the most in question for the Sunderland match as Conte looks towards the Wembley showdown in a bid to clinch the double in his first season at the helm.

Over 12,700 have already parted company since Friday’s deadline – only Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino has earned more sales among FPL midfielders.

A'noon all. Really not sure what to do with this lot. Would like Vardy but would mean -8 and losing sanch or alonso. 1FT, 0.2 ITB

    Cech / Willy
    Monreal - Alonso - Vert - Holgate - Stephens
    Haz - Sanchez - Eriksen - Sane - King
    Kane - Jesus - Anichibe

A - Haz to Cout, Cech to Mignolet (-4)
B - Just Haz to Cout
    C - Any other ideas ?!?

    Ta !

BTW I want Vardy too so am losing Haz for a cheapy who I will bench and then getting Vardy for Anichibe (but then I won't have Cout - and it's for -4 but what the heck...)

I cant see him messing with his team too much now as they are playing really well tbf and KDB is a big part of that

Maybe look at weeks in which they've outscored you & the points margins in those weeks?

I'm around 40pts clear of my rival and am looking at that as comfortable because I can't remember him outscoring me by more than about 20pts in the last 3-4 months.

    Hazard, Sanchez, Alli, King, Carroll

    Cech (Cabellero)
    Alonso, Vertonghen, Monreal (Yoshida, Stephens)
    Sanchez, KDB, Eriksen, Pedro, King
    Kane, Jesus (Anichebe)

    1FT 0.1 ITB

Really want/need Liverpool cover for 38, so presuming Sanchez and KDB remain fit, would you? :

    A - Monreal > Clyne.
    B - Monreal & Eriksen > Clyne & Coutinho -4.
    C - Eriksen > Coutinho.
    D - KDB & Anichebe > Coutinho & Origi/Llorente (but bench Pedro/King) -4.
    E - Something else...what?

I am not a fan of blocking tactics i just like to play my own game and besides you would need 30 points to start blocking when it is this tight its a coin flip captaincy will be key

Really close here, been leading it since gw 2 or 3 or so, and I'm now 1 point behind him. He has Sanchez C, I have Jesus C but we both own both players.

I was 50p behind last GW, now i'm 30p behind.
He has Sanchez (C) and i have Jesus (C). I'm crossing my fingers for a Jesus assault tonight and a (sorry) - Sanchez blank!
I also have Eriksen & Sane as differentials, they might deliver!

Wow - you operate in a tough zone!! I would have thought with your rank that you'd be squillions clear.
I'm 40 behind and only a relatively small chance of overtaking him. (more chance of being overtaken actually)
            Good luck to you.

Hats off to my rival though he has played a blinder to catch up to me he is also the admin of the money league and nobody wants to see me winning it as i also won it last year

Now he has to endure Kane, but he does have Monreal over Kosc...
All down to Haz plans and captaincy.

34 points off mini league leader, got second safely secured though so can take a few gambles for 38. Congratulations on your season, that is some rank ! I wouldn't want to be competing in your mini league

Ideally Liverpool should be investing in a LB this season to replace Milner.

In your dreams. He will be replaced at LB, but if he gets a transfer to defender in FPL and Liverpool don't recruit a LB then prepare for 6.5 or even 7.

Add the clean sheets to his current score , so 136 + (11 x (4 -1) ) = 169. Add a bonus or two and it takes him to about the level of the best scoring defender this year, Alonso at 6.9

So I am not certainly not being ridiculous.
