Friday lunchtime delivers our weekly Sky Sports summary, looking back on the previous Gameweek and preparing you for the incoming fixtures.

As always, we’ll examine the recent run of Man of the Match (MoTM) awards, the bonus point beneficiaries, transfer trends and Watchlist, then move on to the Scout team and our future plans.

Gameweek 18 Man of the Match Awards

These were the players who caught the eye of the Sky Sports reporters and earned an extra five points as a result.

West Ham vs ChelseaMarko Arnautovic
Crystal Palace vs BournemouthJermain Defoe
Spurs vs StokeSon Hueng-min
Burnley vs WatfordJohann Berg Gudmundsson

Swansea vs Man CityDavid Silva
Southampton vs LeicesterShinji Okazaki
Man United vs BournemouthDavid de Gea
Liverpool vs West BromSalomon Rondon
West Ham vs ArsenalAngelo Ogbonna
Spurs vs BrightonSon Hueng-min

Kevin De Bruyne (five) and Eden Hazard (four) continue their pursuit of Mohamed Salah (six) at the summit of the MoTM table.

Ironically, the awards for the pair of Belgians were questionable on the day, with several other team-mates also in the frame for the gong. This highlights the reporters’ perceived bias, which continues to make creative midfielders great options for our XI.

Elsewhere, Everton’s Jonjoe Kenny, at just 4.3, looks a very enticing option at present.

Price alone is enough of a reason to include him, but delving further into the statistics highlights that he’s started the last nine for the Toffees, including a run of four matches that reads seven, seven, six, ten in terms of points.

A special mention also goes to Son Hueng-min, who picked up the accolade in both his Gameweek outings for Spurs. If only a certain Harry Kane could follow suit.

Gameweek 18 Bonus Points

Let’s take a look at any player to earn 25 points or more in bonus for the season.

Watchlist

This list aims to highlight a few differential players with low ownership who I think could be good options for the coming six weeks.

Three specific price brackets will be used to cater for our available budgets.

The players will evolve with fixtures and form and should offer Fantasy managers a nudge in the right direction.

Notes

I’m now up to 182nd in the rankings, but at the cost of a few more transfers. The injury to Kiko Fermenia and the benching of Leroy Sane and Kyle Walker forced my hand somewhat. Though, in truth, I probably jumped the gun and could have attempted to ride out the setbacks.

Having said that, Sane has been a thorn in my side ever since I brought him in back in Gameweek 16; he’s scored just four points in as many matches.

That decision hurts even more given that, at the time, I was weighing him up against David Silva. I’d usually have gone for the Spaniard, given his advantage for passing bonus points, but in this case, I opted for Sane as he was simply on fire.

Silva has subsequently notched up 46 points in those four weeks, meaning that in theory, I could have been 42 points better off and sitting in 44th place overall – a chilling thought.

I’m now looking to limit my transfer activity as much as possible; my line-up looks settled and I’m happy with it.

Having said that, I could be tempted into shifting out Richarlison if injured, along with Liverpool’s Joe Gomez. The aforementioned Kenny and Silva would be drafted in, giving me an all-star attack.

Captain Plan

Sat 16th – Hazard (SOT)
Sun 17th – Salah (bou)
Mon 18th – None

    Seeing the scoutcast now.

Scouts saying that Silva is the City mid to own now. Even over Hazard.

But for me, it'll always be like this with the City mids.

It was Sane sometime ago, then it was Sterling's turn and now it's Silva.

I just feel that you can't go wrong with any of them. Stick with the one you have. Double up if funds permit to upgrade a cheap mid but not at the expense of Hazard imo like the scouts suggest. 🙂

That's what I did, just stuck with Silva since GW 1 and it has now paid me back over the past three weeks.

This was my logic too and I held Silva for so long, before finally taking a hit to remove him after his few blanks and bench for Sterling. The last 3 weeks have been so painful, shows the importance of patience I suppose!

although I still watch it. I tend to agree with this synopsis. the show is crying out for a change in direction .

wouldn't it be good if say the army has gained control of the situation (even an army from Europe maybe) and is now systematically just wiping out everyone and everything so they can start all over again. rick et all would be on the run.

I am not happy with Murray, Fernández and Courtois. Elliot did not played the last four game weeks. I can only wildcard till 30th December. This are the reasons. Thank you!

Manfrotto is one of the best brands for tripods out there, have a look at their compact range. They can be a little pricier than other tripods out there, but you really are paying for quality with them. For lightweight tripods the price difference isn't really that noticeable either to be honest.

Make sure to pay attention to what weight a tripod can take as well. Find out how much your camera + lens weighs and make sure the tripod can take more than this. Some lightweight tripods will only be good for point and shoot cameras, if its a DSLR you have you'll need something that can take 3-4kg probably

What is the best option in FPL do you think?

    A: Christensen
B: Otamendi, and don't have a Chelsea defender

Doesn’t really matter when it’s easy to just get both...

Kenny because Sam Allardyce but Masuaku could do well as well.

priority to sell / get in for this week:

Foster out - likely Pickford or Gomes in (Elliot is other keeper)
Daniels out - likely Kenny or Kabasele in (other defenders are Jones Kolasinac Maguire Hunemeier)

Plan to get Walker in for Kola next week

Would you do Richarlson + Morata --> Sterling/D.Silva + Vardy for a -4? I don't have any city attackers and it's hurting me!

Nah not for a hit. Also Man City less liekly to be free scoring againt Spurs, probably makes more sense to hold and evaluate next week with 2 x FT

    Elliott Fabianski

    Davies Alonso Ward Dunk Maguire

    Salah Hazard Ritchie Gross Choupo-Moting

    Firmino Kane Wilson

1 FT, 2.2 ITB. Should I transfer out Firmino for Morata right back or do I take a -4 and go Davies > Jonjoe Kenny and Ritchie > Silva?

The Guardian's Premier League preview for this weekend suggests that Conte would do well resting Morata some more considering Chelsea are still scoring goals for fun without him and Southampton aren't very good. If the Guardian have thought of that, I imagine Conte has as well. Maybe it's prudent to sell Morata?

yes. let's listen to a journalist speculate when he's likely never kicked a ball in his life. as much credibility from the guardian than anyone on here... in fact probably less.
