The competition in our Fantasy Football Scout Cup contests is intensifying as we enter the final stages, with just 64 teams remaining in both.

The results from the fourth round of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup went to form. The two top-ranked managers – FPL Poker Player in 179 and Elvarus (placed 111th) both earned wins to progress.

Added to that, our four former Cup winners – Mark, Ninja Fit Saints, Gribude and Sleepysi – also found passage into the next round. However, the latter needed to turn to his superior rank (23,302) to edge past MelvinMbabazi as they battled to an 81-point tie.

But something has to give in the next round with our draw creating a stand out head-to-head as Mark faces up to FPL Poker Player over Gameweek 20. In a classic battle of “KaneRemain” vs “KaneExit”, Mark will fancy his chances of a giant-killing of sorts if the Spurs striker can deliver as his captain.

Former FPL winner Tom Fenley remains in the mix with a fifth-round tie against Tap, while the current leader of the Fantasy Football Scout Moderators and Contributors Leauge, Az, will be the hot favourite in his tie with Ibralicious, who currently ranks some 163,000 places below him.

The results from the Fantasy Football Scout fourth round can be found here, while the draw for the fifth round – played out over Gameweek 20 – is here.

The Members Cup is also down to the final 64 with Mark also making progress here. He’ll face John Nerdelbaum in the next round after squeaking past Toffee777 by just four points. Mark is the final staff member remaining after Paul suffered a defeat to No pressure jose by a nine-point margin.

There are two remaining managers ranking inside the top 2000, with Falcon (1985th) and N@th (1965th) perhaps installed as favourites for the trophy. However, the latter now has a fifth-round tussle with MSalah – ranked 7055 – which looks tight and is arguably the tie of the round.

You can view the full results from the third round of Members Cup can be found here, while the draw for the fourth round – also played out over Gameweek 20 – is here.

Sorry, this is the last time I will post this. I have played my wildcard and come up with this. I know it has two week midfielders, but this helps balance the team as the other 3 midfielders are all heavy hitters. Is there anything you would change and Merry Christmas!

    Adrian, Fabianski

    Ota, Jones, Christensen, Kenny, Zanka

    Sterling, Salah, Hazard RLC, Carrol

    Kane, Firmino, DCL

Not great having three cheapies in the front 8

      How much money you got?

      DDG
      Otamendi, Mee, Kenny, 4.5, 4,5
      Sterling, Salah, Silva, Coutinho, Carrol
      Kane, Firmino, Depoitre

Is easily doable with 102 to play with

Fpl is a funny old game, many times this season a trend seems to happen ie big in defence, power 3 up top, big 5 in midfield and then something happens to change the narrative.. ideally I'd like to have 3 solid defenders 5 strong midfielders with 2 premium forwards.. however not sure if that's possible with budget restrictions

    Team atm (0.2 itb):

    Pope/Speroni
    Azpi/Jones/Gomez/Ogbonna/Tarkowski
    Hazard/Salah/Sterling/Richarlison/Groß
    Kane/Firmino/Niasse

Tarks and Niasse not playing for the foreseeable and need for than one on my bench I reckon.

Want to do Niasse -> Depoitre tonight before price rise (and play him over Groß) but need another 0.3m, so first hit of the season time. Plan was Tarks -> Holgate but looks unlikely he'll start next gw. Got Tarks at 4.5 so no price drop imminent there

    Do I do:

    1) Azpi -> Christensen (sideways, but extra funds will go towards getting Stones in later)
    2) Tarks -> Martina (but worried Baines may come back)
    3) Tarks -> Cameron of Stoke (only faintly reliable other 4.3 def I can see)
    4) Richarlison -> Lingard (don't really want to, Richarlison has two good fixtures coming next)
    5) Something else

Leaning towards 1 but not confident. Grateful for any advice please.

    Just finished my wrapping...

Anyway, a lot of people are involved in the "cheap 3rd striker conundrum" with Austin banned & injured. I just want to remind people of last season when Austin got injured. Remember our options? Negredo (fail), Iheanacho (fail), Origi (mostly a fail), Gabbiadini (dgw anyone?), Llorente.

All became "options" at parts of the season after Austin was injured, and apart from a few sporadic moments, they were all gigantic fails. A 5-10 goal per season striker is going to be very difficult to predict when they're going to perform, and if you're not careful you'll end up chasing your tail in circles. If anything, you should be able to find defenders of similar price who are better value, and defenders are easier to manage as there are far more of them to choose from.

The answer? Get Quaner and play 4-4-2/3-5-2.

With Kane and DCL, I just need another 5.0 - 5.5, that's how I see it.

I think I will go with Kane Firmino/Vardy and DCL long term, but things can change
