Cristiano Ronaldo (£12.0m) is the World Cup Fantasy focus as Group B reaches its climax tonight.

The Portugal forward, with four goals in two matches, is owned by 33.3 percent to managers as his side prepare to face Iran.

Meanwhile, 20.7 percent are invested in Spain striker Diego Costa (£9.0m), who has three World Cup goals so far.

There is considerably more interest in Spain than there is Portugal. The next-most backed attacker in Ronaldo’s squad is Bernardo Silva (£8.0m) with 3.2 percent ownership.

However, there are players with double-figure ownership right through Fernando Hierro’s ranks.

21.7 percent of managers have backed Sergio Ramos (£6.5m) to record another clean sheet and possibly convert a penalty given that VAR has helped more of those be awarded than usual. 7.4 percent opted to save money by going with Gerard Pique (£6.0m).

David De Gea (£6.5m) still has the backing of 15.4 percent of managers despite his error in Gameround 1.

Further outfield, 22.1 percent of managers still own Isco (£8.5m) who is waiting for his first return of the tournament.

World Cup Data

We’re delighted to offer World Cup data as an early addition to our regular season offering to help those playing Fantasy games over the summer.

Adios CR7. Never to be seen in my team for the rest of the competition. Never essential at 12m in that meh Portugal side and I've allowed a lucky hat trick to sway me. Won't be going against my better judgement again.

He's not worth 12m if he gets sent off? That can happen to any player.

When your 45 year old Egyptian goalkeeper gets you more points than Ronaldo (c), Costa and Cedric combined.

It so was, just seen the highlights from the Portugal game, that was absolute chaos and I thought with the goals I made the right choice to watch the Spain match.
Will definitely have to tune in to MOTD for the highlights!

Does handball have to be deliberate?

Per Law 12 of the Laws Of The Game:

    Handling the ball
Handling the ball involves a deliberate act of a player making contact with the ball with the hand or arm. The following must be considered:
    - the movement of the hand towards the ball (not the ball towards the hand)
    - the distance between the opponent and the ball (unexpected ball)
    - the position of the hand does not necessarily mean that there is an offence

The rules are just awfully written. Words like natural position and deliberate are just poor terminology that can't be interpreted on face value. The refereeing have been consistent when it comes to hand balls so far. Cedric had his arm straight out and above his shoulder, and therefore it was a clear hand ball.

The referee did possibly miss a foul on Cedric, but his decision was otherwise fine.

It was a bad call by the ref not a pen imo.

Maybe he was told by the man up stairs to give the pen to appease Iran who felt hard done by some of the other decisions.

How has he given that as handball? Did he consult an English ref?

I already replied to you mate. Why are you trying to score points by making a separate post. It's not in the spirit of polite discussion, especially if you don't represent the other viewpoint. Weird and dishonest behaviour if you ask me

To answer you question, no. Unless deliberate doesn't mean intentional.

I think Morocco especially can count themselves very unlucky not to qualify. Unlucky to lose to Iran in injury time, and then unlucky to have Spain equalise.

Belgium will make wholesale changes, up to 10 apparently.

England though could go either way so I wouldn't say Tripps is most likely to not play. Good article on options

9 points lost from poor VAR team (I don't blame the referee unless he can request more video evidence/angles and control the speed haha). Lame

    1. Louis_Sans_Balls
      • 7 Years

this would mean 10 min added to every game, don't know if I'd like that.

I think they could try following the example of American football maybe where each team gets to flag a key play that they want to challenge otherwise these matches will take forever and they still get the wrong decision anyway

      1. Deulofail
        • 9 Years
        7 years, 6 months ago

I mean I don't know if the ref has the power to do this already. If he does, he should have chosen to exercise it. If not, the VAR team should have given him better/more replays.
