Fantasy managers spared pains of Liverpool rotation at Leicester

Fantasy Premier League managers have been spared the pains of Jurgen Klopp’s rotation for the first fixture of Gameweek 4.

After promising that unchanged line-ups would soon be a thing of the past at Liverpool, Klopp has made just one alteration to the side that beat Brighton in Gameweek 3.

New signing Naby Keita (£7.5m) drops to the bench to allow club captain Jordan Henderson (£5.4m) to come back into the starting line-up.

The headline Fantasy options Mohamed Salah (£13.0m), Sadio Mané (£9.9m) and Andrew Robertson (£6.1m) have all kept their places.

The Reds remain heavily backed in this fixture with Salah still in 55 percent of teams, Mané in 37 percent and Robertson in 21 percent.

As a whole, the Liverpool defence is still popular for this trip to the King Power Stadium with Virgil van Dijk (£6.0m) in 18 percent of squads and 17 percent invested in Trent Alexander-Arnold (£5.0m).

It appears that Demarai Gray (£5.5m) is leading the Leicester line in the absence of Jamie Vardy (£8.9m). Kelechi Iheanacho (£6.0m) drops to the bench.

Ricardo Pereira (£5.0m) has earned plenty of attention for playing in attacking midfield twice so far this season but he is deployed at right-back for this one.

LEICESTER CITY XI (4-4-1-1): Schmeichel; Chilwell, Morgan, Maguire, Pereira, Ghezzal, Ndidi, Mendy, Albrighton; Maddison; Gray.

LIVERPOOL XI (4-3-3): Alisson; Robertson, Van Dijk, Gomez, Alexander-Arnold: Henderson, Wijnaldum, Milner; Salah, Firmino, Mane

Today is the first time it has even entered my head to do without Salah.

He's regularly in the points but has been missing plenty that he would have scored last year. And swapping him for Hazard would allow me to do a lot more elsewhere in the team.

But then again, there's the coverage thing and he IS still regularly making decent scores.

    More thought required I think...

Exactly. It’s one reason he doesn’t get baps. I read some people on here and you’d think Salah had a 100% goal to shot ratio or something. He shoots a lot, takes on players a lot and fails at both a decent amount.

People will scare you into owning Salah

Dropping him this week for hazard was an easy move

Get him back when fixtures turn in gw9

Salah total fire and forget. Why even waste transfers shifting him in and out when he's one of the most reliable players in the game. Have to question your wisdom when you factor in the actual value of 2 free transfers

My thinking is if you have wc you can take the chance

If he fires get him back in for gw9

Salah lack of bonus at 13m hurts him and other big hitters can be purchased like hazard and makes kane more affordable

I wish I was brave enough but I applaud those who were not scared and made the move

I don't think it's brave I think it's foolish. Its betting against the odds. Anyone who owns him and never has to spend a minutes though or transfer on him and has a set and forget captain should be laughing at anyone scabbling about trying to find a differential in not owning Salah

I think Liverpool will score more goals than Chelsea so it's not obvious to me that Hazard is the better option over Salah.

Yeah but Bemba, if he got the same amount of points as last season and stays as heavily owned as he is, of course you will own him even at 13. I’m not so sure Hazard - who started at 10.5 because he is not so consistent - and an upgrade of another player by 2.5 really covers those points. IF Salah performs at the same level as last season and stats for these early days suggest that might be the case.

Dave Munday puts stuff out there for discussion and to raise the issue and I like that. As I’ve said before though, I think he’s an “analyst” and gives good advice and ideas even if he’s clearly not the best at decision making for his own team. A best rank of 150k in about 8 years or something is appalling but I like his input and think his correct use and interpretation of stats is good unlike some of the other scouts (and members). He just doesn’t make the right decisions based on his own facts!

Last year, Salah and Mane were similarly priced, so it was an obvious decision. This year, with a difference of 3.5m, it is no longer as obvious. Personally, I feel that Mane will offer far greater value than Salah to an FPL team, and this is in no way contradictory to saying that Salah is world-class. Sometimes I get the sense on FFS that people conveniently forget this price difference when discussing the Pool mids.

      Salah & Zaha & Eriksen --> Hazard & Kane & Lucas/Mkhi seems quite tempting i must say.

Who is going to be the surprise in the 15.00 line ups then?

I think Zaha will be missing

I own him. But I think it is strange that (i) Hodgson was coy on who was missing for Palace and (ii) Zaha has been left out of the Ivory Coast squad.

Whatever Palace say, they are a one-man team. No Zaha is big trouble for them - look at the start of last season.

Doesn't mean Zaha will play today. I think there is a 'personal issue' not necessarily an injury that will keep him out today. Hodgson all smoke and mirrors as he knows he is screwed with Zaha out

I dunno. I think uncle Woy is old school. Didn’t he use to do this with England teams too? Keep opponents “guessing” as to who would play when everybody knew England could barely field 11 decent players back then. Same at Palace, they aren’t Man City. Unless it’s injury in training on Friday, there’s no reason for him not to play.

Palace were in trouble at the start of last season because of Frank De Boer...

I’m an Aguero (C) owner and I think it’s possible. Surprised there’s so much faith. Based on Jonty’s analysis?! I read here as well “Pep’s not stupid” as if City have to play Aguero to beat Newcastle...

Reassess at not just the end of this GW but 5 from now. Presumably you didn’t make those transfers for one GW only.
