→ The 2014/15 season was Sergio Aguero's best ever for Fantasy returns. Seven of his goals/assists and 36 of his FPL points came in two meetings with which club that year? Scout Betting

Last week we rolled the dice, and unfortunately the tilt of the table went against us. Although Luis Suarez earned well for Fantasy managers over the double Gameweek, Liverpool’s misfire at Sunderland cost us our £20. And, to rub salt in the wound, the ‘comparatively better value’ bet featuring Wayne Rooney at 15/8 came in. A swing and a miss for us, but I hope a few of you went against the grain and got paid.

With Ryo Miyaichi’s longer odds bet tempting more interest than the short priced big-guns last week, Paddy have laid on a couple of longer specials this time around. Still running with the exclusive goal, win and clean sheet treble, Scout Picks Clint Dempsey and Mario Balotelli feature in prices a little more risky, but with reward to match.

Dempsey’s home form may easily overshadow his fortunes on the road, but his Craven Cottage tallies have been so strong, he’s already close to beating his Fantasy point tally of last term with Gameweeks to spare. With Fulham’s form bolstered further by the clinical finishing of Russian talisman Pavel Pogrebnyak, the scene is set for a “humdinger” at the Cottage when Swansea pay visit. A Dempsey goal with a Fulham win and a clean-sheet at 11/2 is definitely worth a fiver of our money.

Our next bet shifts focus to City’s Mario Balotelli. Making a rare appearance in the Scout Picks this week, Balotelli blew the lid on his off-pitch antics in a Football Focus interview with Noel Gallagher last weekend. Was I the only one left bitterly disappointed by the “revelations” of their little chat? Often regarded as a lovable scamp, through the Mancunian’s revealing line of questioning, Balotelli instead came across merely as a petulant rebel. With the season now at the business end, it’s surely time for Balotelli to focus his efforts on the pitch. A pivotal home clash against Chelsea beckons in midweek and Paddy are offering a Balotelli goal with a City win and a clean-sheet at 6/1. Worth a go if, like us, you fancy Mario to come good as City exploit a weekend break to get their title tilt back on track.

Our third and final bet looks to last week’s big earner – Wayne Rooney. Paddy are offering 2/1 on an anytime Rooney goal with a United win and a cleanie against Wolves. Rooney’s form speaks for itself, and unfortunately for Wolves, so does theirs. Having missed out on the Rooney cash last week, we’ve learned our lesson and our remaining fiver flutters his way.

Money Back Specials

Paddy look to the weekend’s FA Cup matches for their refund specials. Starting with the Everton vs Sunderland clash at Goodison – if there is a penalty scored in this match Paddy Power will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on the match.

There’s a similar deal available for Liverpool’s encounter with Stoke on Sunday. Again, if a spot-kick is scored, Paddy will pay back all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on the match.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to this betting lark and new to Paddy Power then you can take up any of these odds and offers and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Personally, I'm not too keen on Liverpool keeping a clean sheet at QPR.

QPR have only failed to score at home 3 times this season (New, Utd, Fulham) and they definitely only had 10 men in the Fulham match, not sure about the others.

I have benched G Johnson and played Kelly personally (although Johnson is obviously a doubt).

I was thinking that QPR is pretty decent and will probably score too... however there seems to be plenty of support for Liv defenders today... very interesting...

Sod it, going to leave my transfer for next week. Going empty on Utd Wolves, but have a feeling the starting line up won't be far from

    Valencia, Carrick, Scholes, Giggs
    Welbeck, Hernandez

My team for week is as follows, but 2 transfers next week will be handy and it's not a terrible team for this week (I don't think).

    Krul
    Kelly, Richards, J Evans
    Silva, Mata, Bale, Dempsey
    RVP, Ba, Pog

    Miyachi, G Johnson, Santon Lindegaard

I think Rooney will play and you could miss out big time. Having said that Pog and Ba both have a great fixture and you can't get Rooney in without a hit. Save the transfer then next week downgrade a midfielder and get Rooney in for Pog/Ba. Use this week to get a better idea of form as a few of the string performers this year have been flopping recently. One of Dempsey/Pog should go next week.

Be warned that no Rooney is a gamble.

Ferguson always rests him and other key players every year in certain games, with them on the bench if required.

With Welbeck, Hernandez and Berbatov all fully fit and Wolves shambolic it's the perfect game to have him on the bench.

This is regardless of slight injury concern on ankle.

Personally as much as people are saying Ferguson won't want to risk losing points at Wolves by not playing Rooney, he also won't want to risk injury to Rooney to lose him for the games coming up.

By the way, I'm not saying he definitely won't play there, just going on past seasons he won't play every game between now and the end and tomorrow is logically the best game to rest after playing the 3 games in 8 days.

If I had Rooney, I would still be hoping he played.

I'm a Utd fan, I want him to play all the time. But every year Ferguson rests the key players.

It's generally worked in the past having the big players come off the bench after 55/60 mins to try turn the game around if it's not coming off. Ferguson will do this again before the end of the season, it's just guessing which game.

I think Rooney is purely a gamble for this week, I thought that he might be benched for this game only because of playing 90mins 3 times in 8 days before the injury talk.

I can only do Rooney at a hit this week though and like you say reckon Pog and Ba both have good fixtures, with the added like of guarantee on Rooney means I am going to just take the risk of missing out this week.

Luckily Pog and Ba play today/tomorrow, so I can do my transfers on Sunday if Rooney goes crazy so will only lose the 0.1 he will rise tonight.

Anybody else ever have Fantasy Football related dreams?

Yes I realise it is a bit pathetic but its only natural considering the levels of obsession.

Last night I dreamt I logged on late and realised I had the captaincy on Mort Gamst Pedersen (?). I paniced for a few mins as I checked a bunch of other teams who all had Rooney(c).

I was depressed for a bit until I checked my phone later that day (about 20 secs later in dreamtime) for updates and MGP had scored a brace 😯

What do people make of Gerrard's chances of actually starting against QPR?

If he plays this weekend in cup won't he be in danger of being rested? Cheers guys.

      It's a hard one.

The other main issue is, that if he plays the FA Cup and against QPR, then he will probably be benched for WIG next weekend which is probably one of the main games you would be considering him for.

That's why I have left it this week, but he's potentially in next week.

Don't you hate that. Whenever I ask a question I always get a split decision. I would go Bale if he wasn't playing FA cup on the weekend. Dempsey gets the nod as the safer VC

If I'd had time to do the previews this week I'd have had you down as an absolute banker - can't see Moses repeating last week's heroics! (Felt a little guilty about that!)

Yeah, Moses was lucky for you, but I also took a 4 point hit which was totally unnecessary as I could have left it til this week. So partly my own fault really. Just hoping Ba does something this week !!

Ba is the one I fancy to run riot - being a Newcastle fan will soften the blow though! Obviously the ideal scenario is Yakubu smacking 3 past s*nderland! 🙂

Really struggling to pick my team this week, everyone has potential to score big or get CS's.

    I've gone for this:

    Mignolet
    Kelly Squirtle McCauley Evans
    Morrison Bale Dempsey
    Rooney(c) Ba RVP(vc)
    (Krul, Simpson, Siggy, Silva)

What you guys think? Kinda wanna take Silva out this week for either Walcott/Valencia/Young/Nani but that would create another dilemma.

    Can anyone enlighten me please?
