An understandable issue. Domestic vegan products are growing massively now. But the soy beans and such that we have to import are in fact fed at a greater rate to our livestock than to us. Globally 70% of soy beans are fed to animals, 6% to humans and the rest is made into oil.

Soy is also a crop that can only be grown in certain parts of the country due to soil and climate requirements. Also we already have to import large quantities of veg and fruit due to seasonality with their carbon footprint.
You can't just swap land from livestock to alternative crops. A large % of livestock farming takes place on land that has little chance of being used for another food producing purpose.

Well considering that bovine are not native to this part of the world in that case it would not be long before they would "decline back into their natural population level" which is zero.

You are of course aware of common farming practices. Is killing babies, being forceably pregnated and mass slaughter better than no life at all supposing cows can’t survive in the masses of open land?

Well in this part of the world farming has supported many babies to grow all the way into adulthood for generations and we would have died out without it.

Where do you think the human race and civilization would be without animal husbandry and farming?

Where are these "masses of open land" you speak of?Grass does not grow here in Europe in the winter like it does in Asia where bovine hail from so when they are granted their new found freedom in your Utopia what do you think they will eat?

Thats the point, its not a mass group until a mass do it. You can either lead the change and help build a mass group or you can claim that its not your problem that the planet you need to survive is dying.

Yeah this could be a worry, lots more Soya etc being eaten. I do worry about the impact as there is a lack of historical and numerical data. But I know plenty of vegans in their retirement age and to not sound too biased they are very healthy and active
