Aguero on the bench as Sterling and Sane start on the flanks for City

Manchester City take on Wolverhampton Wanderers this evening in the final match of Gameweek 22, with kick-off at the Etihad at 20:00 GMT.

Sergio Aguero has recovered from the illness that forced him to miss the 7-0 and 9-0 wins over Rotherham United and Burton Albion respectively but the Argentinean striker is only named among the substitutes this evening, as Gabriel Jesus gets the nod to lead the line.

Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane will be flanking the Brazilian tonight, while City’s midfield three of Bernardo Silva, David Silva and Fernandinho remains unchanged from the victory over Liverpool – meaning Kevin De Bruyne has to be content with a place on the bench.

Danilo gets the nod at left-back despite Fabian Delph‘s return from a three-match ban.

Nuno Espirito Santo has made two changes from the strong starting XI that defeated Liverpool in the FA Cup last Monday, with Matt Doherty and Rui Patricio replacing Ruben Vinagre and John Ruddy.

Diogo Jota is once again paired with Raul Jimenez in attack, with Joao Moutinho being deployed as the “number ten” behind Wolves’ strike pair.

Leander Dendoncker gets only his second league start of the season in central midfield.

The reverse fixture of this match ended 1-1, with Aymeric Laporte‘s header cancelling out a controversial opening goal from Willy Boly back in August.

Aguero was the fifth-most-captained FPL asset of Gameweek 22, while four Wolves’ players – Doherty, Patricio, Jimenez and Ryan Bennett – are among the nine most-benched Fantasy assets of this round of fixtures.

Sterling hasn’t scored more than six FPL points in a single game since Gameweek 14 but his season-long average of 7.1 points per match is second only to Mohamed Salah among FPL midfielders.

City are the only Premier League club without a clean sheet since the start of December, while Wolves haven’t kept a shut-out on the road since Gameweek 8.

Manchester City XI (4-3-3): Ederson; Walker, Stones, Laporte, Danilo; Fernandinho, Silva, Bernardo; Sane, Sterling, Jesus.

Wolverhampton Wanderers XI (3-4-1-2): Patricio; Bennett, Coady, Boly; Jonny, Dendoncker, Neves, Doherty; Moutinho; Jimenez, Jota.

My team has fallen from top 10k to 30k recently

    Current team:
    Guiata, Hamer
    Robertson, Kolasinac, Digne, AWB, Bennett
    Salah, Hazard, Richarlison, Anderson, Camarasa
    Kane, Mitrovic, Success

Mulling transfers this week and considering

    Hazard -> Pogba
    Success -> Rashford

For a 4 point hit - what do you think folks (obviously I’ll wait to some injury news)?

It’s either this or transfer out Kane and Guiata, I’m tempted by a WC as I have Mitrovic and Camarasa to deal with too but don’t want to waste it...

So many options, any thoughts welcome!

Cheers, yeah the wildcard would be a kneejerk I suppose, I’m rather upset about my two transfers in (Guiata and Camarasa), which were intended to free money to allow moves to Pogba and Ings in next two weeks, both got injured, as well as Kane!

Save the WC for later. It's looking likely that Kane will miss at least few weeks so plan your moves around that. Also, Hazard has Arsenal and Bournemouth next. Wouldn't be moving him before those.

I'd sort out Kane (if/when confirmed out) and Guiata this week.

Guaita needs to be monitored and Kane prob out, Hazard out before Arsenal away is the exact troll move. it will end in tears. Kane and Cam to Rashford and Pogba or one of the Silva´s? If Guaita and kane out, and Success not playing, and United have nice fixtures the hit will actually be for a keeper spot where you will gain points no matter what except for the odd zero pointer for a keeper but that´s unlikely. Not sure which defender you´re gonna play, but with the fixtures they got i wouldn´t expect much. -8 if you will take the risk on double United or just play one of Cam or one of your defenders with a -4 for Guaita and Kane?

Fecked up big time doing Auba to Rashford in fear of price rise and waiting for news on Kane when i could have done Kane + Anderson to Salah + Rashford for - 4 but that was leaving exact 0.0 ITB before Rashford price rise so i had to make a decision and i made the wrong one. Thinking of wildcarding this lot now. 4.8 ITB and 0 FT

    Fabianski - Hamer
    Robertson - TAA - Digne - Doherty - AWB
    Hazard - Anderson - Richarlison - Deulofeu - Pogba
    Rashford - Ings* - Kane*

If Kane is not out for long play 451 this gw.
All your playing 11 would have nice fixtures imo.

          Nah.
Keep Hazard & get Salah for someone else.
Simply because from Palace & Gooners you know who's defense is worse 😉

Best move this week with 2 FTs?
Was all set on doing Haz and Rich/Fanderson to Salah and a cheapo?
Now Kane could be out am I better losing Kane to a cheap forward upgrading Rich/Fanderson to Salah? or still drop Haz?

    Pat Hamer
    Digne Doherty TAA AWB Zaba
    Haz Pogba Rich FAnderson Sterling
    Kane Rashford Jiminez

I have 2FT and plan was to bring Salah

    Fab Speroni
    Alonso Taa Doherty Digne AWB
    Hazard Pogba Richarlison Fraser Gibbs-White
    Kane Auba Rashford

Imo best way to do it is

    A) Kane, Rich -> Jimenez, Salah
    B) Kane, Fraser -> Kamara, Salah

I would rather have Jimenez than Kamara but not sure is it wise to ditch Rich with his nice fixture run?
