FPL Question Time – Consult our panel ahead of Blank Gameweek 27

Fantasy Premier League managers are faced with a different kind of dilemma this week as they look to negotiate the upcoming Blank Gameweek 27.

Manchester City, Everton, Chelsea and Brighton will all be out of action over the weekend of February 23, and we’ll have to plan our moves accordingly.

Here to help you with any issues you might have are three more Fantasy managers from our rotating panel.

Submit your questions below…

Who’s on the panel this week?

Simon March – Former FPL champion who won the title in 2014/15. Has regularly contributed to these pages ever since.

Ben Crabtree – Another FPL title winner, who secured the crown in the 2016/17 campaign.

David Munday – editor of Fantasy Football Scout, a man who spends too much time in the members area for his own good.

Everyone confident of starts for Sterling Sane Aguero and Son today?

I think only one with risk is Sane, I firmly believe other 3 start.

Not Sane. Rest probably high chance unless there are proper ITKs who know differently.

Think all of those will start. The formation change for Arsenal was because of the pace counter attacks of Laca and Auba, don’t see him needing that change today.

GW27-GW31: Build up your team using FTs for GW31 and GW33 blanks
      GW32: Free Hit
GW33: Use FT for GW33 team
      GW34: Wildcard for GW35
      GW35: Bench Boost

Question is when to use TC if you haven't already.

Im building my team for dgw 32, fh 31 and then I can also get a good team gw 33 considering we could analyze who is likely to get KOd in the quarter finals.

How much of a disadvantage is it really to have no WC or chips left bar the FH chip I wonder?
Build a team for doubles from 27 onwards and use FH chip in 31. Blank 33 could likely be easy enough to navigate. Might not be the end of the world for us chipless crew or am I deluding myself?

Bench boost and TC put you 10-15 points behind for each chip. Free Hit and Wildcard probably 20-30 points behind each. Just my guestimate though.

        • 7 Years

I have FH which is the important chip imo. Got 19 points from my BB and 11 from my TC so I cant complain about that. Just got to hope for some big GWs going forward to counter I guess. Happy to have tried it differently this season anyway. WIll be something to review at season's end. Cheers & GL.

Kind of makes it more interesting though imo, some would say the opposite though I guess 😉

    3. Mo Mané Mo Problems
      • 9 Years
      5 years, 2 months ago

TC is just worth a set amount. I doubt you disrupt long term plans to use it.

BB is slightly harder to measure effectiveness as you may get a decent point score with it, but have sacrificed points pre and post BB.

This season, if you BB’d in GW1 and scored 20+, and TC either GW2 or at pretty much any other time for 20+ (so long as you isn’t sacrifice using BB/FH/WC in the week you used it) you have won.

WC and chips mean you can change things in an instant, building towards doubles means you can miss big hauls on the way there!

As my bench includes Success and Puncheon, I probably need 1 to get 11 playing, 2 for a bit of safety.

    Digne to Perreira/TAA?
Sterling/Aguero and Success/Puncheon to a lower price and higher price option?
